Best Black Mehndi Designs – Our Top 10 February 13, 2017

Black Mehndi, also known as Chemical Mehndi, is the resultant of mixing chemicals and dye with henna.

Black Mehndi designs done with the help of the black chemical cone, creating the borders and filled in with henna/mehndi give an amazing dual colour effect and look really beautiful when applied on hands or feet. A lot of Arabic mehndi designs feature black mehndi as well.

Black Mehendi is the preferred choice of many for festivals, occasions and weddings or even for casual wear since it imparts a look different from the usual mehndi we do and provides sharper, stronger colour and more prominent designs which lend a great attractive effect.

Whether used for outlining or by itself, black mehendi designs beautifully imbibe the traditional with the modern, thus being trendy and classy all at the same time.

Black henna can cause a severe skin reaction and leave permanent scars. Google “black henna scars” and see how gruesome it can be. Once it produces an allergic reaction, you will have a sensitivity for life. It is not worth the risk.

Please do not promote the use of black henna.

Now, who doesn’t love a dark, intense mehendi design adorning their hands? I loved the 6th and 8th design – perfectly symmetrical and designed with so much precision. The floral and weave like patterns enhance their beauty to another level!

Adding chemicals to the regular henna is not good. Anyone can have bad reactions as it is hair dye being put in it. If you leave the hair dye in your hair longer then 30 min it starts to burn. Now imagine your hands. You will be scarred for life.

All of these designs are fantastically stunning. I really love the designs! But you should know that black henna is very unsafe for a high percentage of people. To achieve the black color the henna is filled with chemicals that can burn the skin leaving scars. I did notice however that a lot of you beautiful design images are natural henna just with the paste on. Once the paste comes off it is a beautiful redish brown and I can only imagine how stunning these would be when they are at the full peak of the darker redish brown natural henna color.

    Blessings to you!
