Deepika is blessed with a wonderful flawless skin. She, like other actresses, emphasizes on surplus water intake to ensure that one stays hydrated. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are her regular skincare rituals. Her daily skin care regime includes a moisturizer with SPF for daytime. This glamorous diva ensures that every trace of makeup is removed before going to sleep. She follows this cleansing regime with a hydrating cream. She does not go for regular facials, but does indulge in a thorough clean up session once in a while.

Deepika in order to maintain her gorgeous self depends on regular skincare instead of instant makeup solutions. She avoids wearing makeup while not shooting and makes sure to cleanse her face thoroughly post shooting. She prefers a loofah over a soap bar for bathing, as it instantly improves blood circulation and removes dead cells from the body.

As for her tresses, she massages it once a week with tender coconut oil, as prolonged exposure to sun damages the hair follicles. She is a complete fitness freak and follows her regime without any excuses or delays. Even if she has an early morning shoot, she squeezes out time for her work out session. Her fitness trainer Yasmin introduced her to pilates and stretching exercises, which she includes in her daily routine.

She does a lot of free hand weight exercises and 4 to 5 sets of stretching with 20 reps. She also does cardio training and light weight lifting in the gym. Deepika says “It is very important to maintain balance while working out. Do not work out vigorously, give time to your body to rest and recover.” She begins her day with yoga. She loves to practice in her garden as she does different asanas which help her to look fresh and healthy. She also walks daily for nearly half an hour every morning.

Deepika Padukone Diet Secrets:

Deepika holds the view that “It’s not about how much you eat, but how healthy you eat”. She is a die-hard foodie and doesn’t believe in skipping meals or starving in order to get a lean frame. Pooja Makhija, her dietician has regularized the meal timings for every two hours.

Deepika believes that “A healthy diet is the first step towards a strong and fit body”. Her diet is balanced with a healthy mix of carbohydrates and proteins. Deepika takes three meals a day and considers breakfast as the most important meal. She keeps all the three meals balanced and simple. If she eats dosa for breakfast, she avoids the potato filling; and while having egg, she omits having the egg yolk. While having idly, she substitutes coconut chutney with pudina chutney.

She starts her day with fruits instead of coffee. For lunch, she takes a bowl of dal, vegetables, one chapatti with chicken or fish. As for dinner, she avoids eating heavy and prefers eating salads and roti to obtain maximum nutrition. Following a balanced meal diet is very important to her and crash dieting is a strict no no.

Deepika strictly believes that one doesn’t need to apply tons of makeup in order to look beautiful.  Makeup is used to enhance one’s natural features, not change it completely. Choosing the right shade of foundation is very important. Avoid foundation if you have a naturally good skin. Never put too many things together. Mascara is one of her most essential makeup items, as she thinks it adds dimension to her overall look by drawing attention to her eyes.

Even though she avoids using makeup when not shooting, there are some personal favourites which she loves to use. She loves red lipstick and often flaunts the bold colour at various events. Eyes highlighted with black eyeliner and paired with red lipstick is one of her favourite looks. She prefers to keep the lips muted with a nude or pink shade when doing dramatic eye makeup. When not shooting, she sticks to the skincare basics like moisturizing lip balm and a neutral foundation.

“Eyebrows are an important aspect”, Deepika says. She believes that having the right thickness and shape can help define one’s natural features.

For her daily look, Deepika applies a neutral shade of foundation along with a dash of concealer under the eyes. She sticks to a brown coloured eye shadow and a ginger bronze blush to highlight her cheekbones. She applies a thin line of black eye liner and finishes the look with a touch of mascara. For the lips, she sticks to a peachy brown lipstick.
