1. Warm Soap and Water:

To prevent any infection on the area that has been tainted with spider bite, it is necessary to clean it immediately with warm soap and water. Do not forget to apply an antiseptic ointment on the area after it is washed to ward off the contagion.

2. Ice Cold Pack:

An ice cold pack can be used on the affected area to reduce the swelling and provide relief from the spider bite. Raw grated potato can also be applied on the affected region.

3. Dried Basil:

This natural home remedy is safe to use and effective. Crush a few dried basil leaves and apply it on the affected area to reduce the itching on the skin and also the swelling.

4. Aspirin:

This tablet can be taken to neutralize the poison in the body caused by the bite of venomous spiders. Dissolve the tablet in water and apply it on the affected area as a paste to provide relief from itching. In case the spider bites children, antiseptic lotion must be applied immediately to fight any infection that can be caused due to the bite.

5. Elevate the Area of Bite:

This effective remedy must be applied immediately to prevent swelling. The elevation is specially done for the arm or leg.

6. Nutrient Supplement:

Vitamin supplements that contain high vitamin C can be taken as it has anti-inflammatory effects.

7. Baking Soda:

Baking soda mixed with a skin lotion can be applied in the form of a paste on the affected area to reduce the inflammation.

8. Salt:

This common kitchen ingredient is very useful and effectively to draw out the poison of spider bite. Salt works fast and is used to eliminate the inflammation and redness because of spider bite. It also prevents further infection.

9. Activated Charcoal:

Charcoal can also be used to eliminate the toxic substances from the body and prevent any infection caused by a spider bite.

Try and stay away from spiders. Avoid dark sheds and other possible spider habitats and if you are going there, wear your slippers. If you see a spider, curb the urge to stamp it and leave it alone. It will happily mind its own business and leave you alone too!
