5 Effective Homemade Face Packs To Treat Open Pores August 3, 2016

Look closely into the mirror. Do you see open pores on your skin? Up close, they don’t really look that attractive, do they?

Pores are microscopic openings on the skin that enable perspiration and protective oils to reach our skin surface. These pores are generally not visible, but they perform important functions for our skin. However, when pores become enlarged, they adversely affect the appearance of the skin. Open pores not only make your skin look rough and uneven, but also make it difficult to apply makeup on the skin. Though the size of your pores depends on genetic factors, several other factors too contribute to open pores. These include stress, hormonal changes and improper skin care. All these factors lead to the excessive production of oil or sebum, causing blackheads, whiteheads, and clogged pores, making them look enlarged. Leaving heavy cosmetics on your skin overnight further aggravates this problem.

Let’s have a look at the Best Face Packs For Open Pores:

The good news is that the problem of open pores can be solved by some simple homemade face packs. Given below are five amazing face packs that should be a part of your skin care routine to get rid of open pores.

Then apply this cold pack on your face after washing it with water. Leave it for 25 minutes and then wash off. Now rub an ice cube on your face and then apply some moisturizer. This face pack should be applied twice to thrice a week religiously for 2 months to get noticeable results.

Honey is a natural humectant, which helps retain the moisture in your skin. It also possesses anti-microbial properties. Lemon juice, on the other hand, possesses astringent properties that help shrink pores temporarily. You can prepare this homemade face pack for open pores by mixing 1 tablespoon honey with ½ tablespoon fresh lemon juice and a pinch of sugar. Massage this mixture on your face slowly with the tips of your fingers in circular motions. Concentrate on the skin around your nose and on your chin. Leave it for 5 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid rubbing off the mixture with a towel.

Tomato juice is packed with Vitamins A and C, which possess natural antioxidant and astringent properties. Vitamin C works wonders when it comes to reducing clogged pores. If you have acne prone skin, you can mix 1 ½ tablespoon of tomato juice with ½ tablespoon seaweed powder. Blend this solution and apply it on your face with a cotton ball. Rinse off after 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can prepare a face pack by mixing tomato pulp with multani mitti, sandalwood powder, and a pinch of turmeric powder. Apply it on your face and leave for 20 minutes. This will help to tighten the open pores.

You can prepare an organic face pack by mixing 1 tablespoon green tea powder with 3 tablespoons water. Allow this mixture to sit for 5 minutes. Blend an egg white with 2 teaspoons flour and combine it with the green tea mixture. Apply it on clean skin and rinse off with warm water.

These were a few effective face packs for reducing open pores. However, some health experts are of the view that lemon juice is harmful for those who are prone to breakouts. In such a case, it is advisable to consult your physician before using lemon juice in any face pack.
