Hottest Hair Trends Summer 2012
If you are wondering what’s hot this season, let me tell you its not just the sun. New summer hair care trends have emerged apart from the regular clothes, accessories or shoes.. So off you go. Knock on your stylists’ door and ask for any of the following.
1. High ponytail:
If you have long and straight hair, make a high ponytail, above or around the level of your ears, and there cannot be any hairstyle more elegant than this.
a) The latest trend is to use a thin rubber-band for the ponytail, then take the longest section of your hair, and wrap it around the rubber-band. This gives that oomph to the simple ponytail, without any extra accessories. It looks super-chic for office.
b) To add more glamor to the ponytail, pick up your curling tong and curl the end of the ponytail, like in the following picture:
2. Beachy waves:
the perfect hair for summers. Looks as if you have just returned from a beach holiday. It is very easy to get this style. Wash your hair in the evening, and towel dry. When almost dry, Comb through the hair to remove any tangles. Apply some mousse onto your hair, and make a loose plait. Leave it overnight. (You can comfortable sleep in a plait). Next morning, un-plait your hair to get those perfect beachy waves, without the use of any heat on your hair. As simple as that! If you want, you may spray some hair-spray onto your hair to give more definition to the style. This style can be kept until the next day.
3. Messy braids:
This is probably the simplest to make hairstyle. Apply some mousse to your dried hair around the roots, then turn your head upside down and blow dry your hair. This will add volume around the crown. Flip your hair back and set the hair in the right direction with a comb. Remember, the volume has to stay intact. Then, make a loose plait, and you’re good to go!
4. Hollywood curls:
The hottest trend on the red carpet are the big Hollywood curls. You will need hair mousse and a curling iron with a large barrel (1.5-2 inches barrel) for this style. Apply mousse to the length of your hair, then curl them using the curling tong with a big barrel, and let the curls fall.
5. Sharp Bob cut with a fringe:
This style is best suited for women with thin hair. Your hair-dresser will be the best person to tell you if this style will suit your face-cut or not, but if you want short hair, or if you have thin hair, do check with your hair-stylist. You may add a fringe or a streak of colored hair to add some drama to the look. This style will need frequent styling at home, and regular trims for maintenance.
