Feb 14th is fast approaching; a day full of romance! Suddenly, you will get to see rose-tinted glasses and chocolates all around you. Whether you’re planning to spend the day outside or opting for a candle light dinner, it’s always fun to primp a little for the season of love and romance. So get ready for Valentine’s day with a blast!Whether you have straight or wavy hair, there’s always a beautiful and perfect hairstyle for you. Not sure which one to choose? Here is a tutorial for two simple yet elegant hairstyles. Take your pick!
1. Dutch Braid
Dutch braid, also known as the reverse braid, is one of the cutest and most unique ways you can style your hair on this special occasion. The only difference between a Dutch braid and a normal braid is that instead of crossing the sections of the braid over, you need to cross the strands underneath.
Here is a step-wise tutorial to style your hair into a simple Dutch braid.
You Will Need
- U pins
- Elastic band
Step-1: Prep your hair by combing it gently and then apply a bit of mousse to add volume to your hair.
Step-2: Divide your hair at the top of your head into three sections.
Step-3: Start making the braid and cross the strands under the middle section instead of crossing them over it.
Step-4: Once you have crossed the sections twice under the middle section, take another section from the side and add it to one of your strands and start braiding again.
Step-5: Keep repeating the above step and go diagonally towards the other end.
Step-6: Continue braiding till you reach the end. Secure your braid with a black elastic band and put some hair over the top of the band to hide it.
Finish your hairstyle by applying a hair spray and you’re all set!

2. Waterfall Braid
The waterfall braid is one of the most gorgeous hairstyles ever. Most of your hair is left loose, and you can show off your shiny and long locks (if you have Rapunzel-like hair!) or go the punk way (if you like your braid messy) with equal elan.
So, let’s learn how to make a waterfall braid.
Step-1: Prep your hair and make a side partition. Take a section of the hair from the side that has more hair and divide this bunch into three sections.
Step-2: Now, cross the back section over the middle one. Then, cross the front section over the middle one. Make a French braid by crossing the back section over the middle one and then adding a new section of hair to join the existing braid.
Step-3: Now, cross the front section over the middle one and add another section of hair, just as we did in the second step.
Step-4: This time, instead of crossing the back strand over the middle, just drop it down and add a new section of hair directly behind the section and cross it over the middle. Repeat this until your braid reaches the back of your ear.
Step-5: Pin it to secure it in place. Let some strands of hair loose over the top of the pin to hide it.
Step-6: Finish your hairstyle by applying a hair spray and you are all set!

You can always tweak these hairstyles and give them your own variations.
