Rani Mukherji Inspired Eye Makeup – Tutorial With Detailed Steps And Pictures March 26, 2015

Rani Mukherji is one of the most popular Bollywood actresses. Mostly known for her acting skills, Rani also has a unique style statement. Her raspy voice, petite body, curvy figure and honey-colored eyes make her a true style diva. She epitomizes Indian womanhood and that is why I created her classic bronze smokey eye makeup, which she often sports in her movies—because she is one of us!

Products Used:

  • Elf 144 eyeshadow Palette in bronze, dark and medium brown eyeshadows.
  • Lotus Herbals Kajal Black
  • Revlon Eyeshadow palette in sand
  • Loreal Million Lashes Mascara

Rani Mukherji Inspired Eye Makeup Tutorial:

Rani not only looks amazing in traditional Indian attires but can also rock a western outfit. Who can forget her in the movie ‘Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai”? You don’t need to be a Rani fan to enjoy this look! This is a classic look that any woman can sport. A few steps, and you change the way you look completely!

Step 1:

Start applying an eye cream to moisturize and relieve any dryness in the under eye area. Gently use the ring finger to apply and blend the product and let it get absorbed. Then apply your favorite concealer. If you have deep pigmented eyelids, then it is best to use a corrector prior to the application of the concealer. Set the concealer with powder to avoid creases and fine lines.

Then pick a creamy black kajal and cover up your entire eyelid area. Use a smudger or pencil brush to gently blend the sharp edge of the kajal.

Step 2:

Pick a medium bronze eyeshadow in satin finish and apply it to the entire eyelid area. Layer the eyeshadow just above the smudged kajal. Pat the eyeshadow and avoid using the usual sweeping motion to build maximum color intensity.

Step 3:

Then pick a medium matte brown eyeshadow and apply it to the crease area of your eyes. It is best to use a fluffy tapered blending brush to softly diffuse the color into the crease.

Step 4:

Line your upper lash line slightly thicker with a black kohl or gel liner. Do not extend the line outside the eye area by winging it, but just follow the natural shape of your eyes.

Step 5:

Then, apply a dark brown eyeshadow to the outermost corner of your crease to deepen the effect of your eyes like Rani.

Step 6:

Pick a fluffy tapered blending brush and softly blend all the different eyeshadows applied to create a smokey look. Use soft circular motions to blend all the shades easily. And then pick a smudger or pencil brush and softly blend the kajal on the upper as well as the lower lash line of your eyes.

Now we need the same bronze eyeshadow that we used in step 2. Apply it to the lower lash line to create a balance in the eye makeup. Then, line your waterline and tight line your eyes with a dark black kajal. Curl your eyelashes and follow it up with mascara to create an illusion of thicker eyelashes. If you want to create a dramatic look, use false eyelashes. As I wanted a vivid eye makeup look, I added fuller false lashes. As a final touch, apply a shimmery champagne eyeshadow to the brow bone and innermost corner of your eyes to highlight. And you are done!

Beautiful, smokey eyes, just like Rani Mukherjee! So, you see, you don’t need to be an actress to look amazing! We also can look fabulous with a few strokes of makeup. With this look, you can rock any party or special occasion! This is the perfect look for a night out with friends. It will also work for a date night. Now, you too can be the queen bee!
