Step 1:

Soft Pastel Lip Makeup – Tutorial With Detailed Steps And Pictures

Apply your favorite foundation and set it with compact to create a flawless makeup base. If you have hyper pigmentation around the mouth area, use a darker concealer. It will conceal all your imperfections to make your lips stand out. Then, apply your favorite lip balm and moisturize your lips. Moisturizing the lips prior to the lip makeup is a must. It helps in creating an even and neat finish for the lipstick.

Step 2:

Pick a matte pink lip liner, matching your natural lip color or a few shades darker to achieve a natural nude lip finish. Here, I picked a natural pink lip liner shade, which is two shades darker than my natural lip color. Start applying the lip liner at the highest peak of your cupid’s bow and follow it like a neat thin line at the outer perimeter of your lips. Create smaller strokes and then connect it together if you don’t have a steady hand in drawing lines. Then fill the entire lip area with this same lip liner. This step will increase the longevity of your lipsticks. It will also give a natural finish to your nude lip make up.

Step 3:

Now, pick up a highlighting concealer or a lighter color concealer. The light color concealer should be at least 3 shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Start by filling your entire lip with the concealer using a thin brush. Carefully fill your lips with a very thin layer and do not apply a lot of concealer to your lips. Then, use your fingers or a sponge to blend the concealer seamlessly for a neat and natural finish. Now, set it with a compact powder to prevent fading or creasing of the product.

Step 4:

Now, take a nude pink lipstick and use a thin brush to layer the color over the concealer applied earlier. Apply a thin coat of the lipstick. Then blot it with a tissue paper and layer the lipstick once again for a long lasting finish. You should always select a pink or brown lip color, which matches your natural lip color or just a few shades darker to create a natural nude lip finish.

Step 5:

Then, apply a very thin coat of a nude or a light brown lip gloss to the entire lips to create a soft plump effect to the lips. Now, clean out the outline of your lips with a concealer to make your lips stand out. Start by outlining your entire lips with the concealer using a thin brush. Carefully outline your lips without pulling in the concealer inside your lip area. The key to achieve flawless makeup is blending. Harsh or sharp edged makeup will not flatter on any skin. So, gently use your fingers or a sponge to blend the concealer seamlessly for a neat and natural finish. Set it with a compact powder to prevent fading or creasing of the product.
