Here’s The Reason Why Aishwarya Still Carries Aaradhya In Her Arms

Written by Rachana C  •

There’s the limelight, the money, and massive fandom that comes to Bollywood celebrities. But with it comes a huge ‘but.’ The public and media sometimes forget that they are humans too and that they lead quite a normal off-screen life like the rest of us. The price they pay for all that extravagance they enjoy is huge – breach of privacy and questioned for behaving like the general public. Yet, we see Bollywood celebrities like Aishwarya putting their foot down when it comes to protecting their children.

#1 – After Aishwarya’s return from the Cannes, she was spotted carrying Aaradhaya in her arms at the airport, and when questioned why she still has to carry her 5-year old daughter, Aishwarya says it is her motherly instincts that immediately makes her behave protectively. Like any other mother would do, when Aishwarya feels the media is crossing their lines and start hovering her when she is with Aaradhya, she instantly picks her up to make sure her kid is safe and comfortable.

Aishwarya says, “Aaradhya has seen it since birth, and I would like to think she is used to it. But when Aaradhya saw these people coming, she just wanted to stop in her tracks and squatted on the floor. I knew it was time for me to pick her up. I just wanted everyone to be safe, including my child.”

The 5-year-old knows the limelight her mom gets and has learned the tricks of the trade already which is evident in the pictures clicked during the Cannes Film Festival in France. But come on, she is just 4 and Aishwarya’s instincts are so maternal and universal that you just can’t criticize her for being a mother.

While that was about Aishwarya, Bollywood has seen many more actors that are just as protective as Aishwarya was. Here are some…

#2 Kareena Kapoor Khan

Who hasn’t chided Kareena and her husband Saif for their decision to name their son, Taimur? They said the son was named after the Turco-Mongol conqueror Taimur the Lame and the parents had taken it enough until the nawaabi bahu Kareena finally decided to break the silence. She said about the controversy that, “It was bizarre. I have no idea why people took my baby’s name so personally. But we love the name and let me put it this way – it has no resemblance to any person living or dead. We love the meaning (Taimur means iron in Arabic).”

She couldn’t have used a more apt word than “bizarre.” If anyone feels she has chosen an intense word, try being in her shoes. The baby bump wasn’t even gone, her baby wasn’t even home from the hospital, and there were loads of tweets invading the social media criticizing the connotations the name might have had. Can’t we just stop with the meaning? Like not everything has a, “resemblance to any person living or dead.”

#3 Shah Rukh Khan

It wasn’t only the women folk of Bollywood armoring their tiny tots. We have our very own King Khan beautifully showing multiple instances where his motherly instincts came to the rescue every time his children needed him. When it came to protecting his children, he didn’t mind crossing the line back in 2012 for which the MCA had banned his entry into the Wankhede Stadium for five years.

The allegation against him was that he was drunk and had gotten into a brawl with the MCA security guards, but this was what he tells the media – “I think it is completely unpardonable that you physically manhandle children that too little girls who are not even 13 under the guise of security.” The truth was that there was a crowd of 30 people barging into his children under the name of security which he thoroughly condemned.

We can see his pure protective instincts when he said, “I took little children for the match, and 40 grown-up people came charging aggressively at me. I think my behavior is absolutely correct. I would still do the same thing if they misbehaved with my kids or kids that I am taking care of.”

This multi-talented Bollywood Badshah has actually proved that you don’t quite need to be a mother to be a mother. Isn’t that downright adorable? This time you see celebs being all protective about their li’l ones, you know why they do it, don’t you? That’s them being normal, them being moms!
