Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh come together with their sizzling chemistry once again! This time, it is for the October 2015 cover of Vogue India that marks its eighth year in circulation. Even before the magazine has hit the stands, the couple on the cover is trending with #twocool. Yet, it remains undecided which of the two has a higher coolness quotient. It is really hard to pick one over the other as they are both super cool individually, and ‘oh! so steamy!’ when they come together. But one does tend to get a little partial when Dippy walks into the frame. So let’s attempt to decode her look.

The Outfit

With Deepika and Ranveer getting up close and personal for the first time on a magazine cover, they hardly need striking clothes. In fact, the Dior printed bodysuit from the Fall 2015 collection fits Deepika perfectly, given the sultry theme of the cover. It goes without saying that the attire adds quite a bit of oomph to her already sexy stature.

Deepika’s look is minimal, yet very striking. As you will see, there is hardly any use of accessories, apart from the earrings, which are from the Sabyasachi for Krishnadas & Co.Not sure if the look requires them, but the earrings definitely make a statement.

The Tresses

Deepika’s hair has always been a cause of envy. Her long, wavy locks need very little styling. It is just the right color that accentuates her healthy and well-kept mane. In this look, the stylist has added a few loose curls starting from mid-length to the ends. They just add much romance to the look. This is a hairstyle that is quick and easy, and goes with absolutely any attire, and matches any look.

To get this look, start with a leave-in conditioner that will make your hair really soft. Then apply a serum that will add the right amount of shine to your hair. L’Oreal has a good collection of serums that you could choose from. Once this is done, apply a volume mousse to your hair, and run your fingers through the strands of your hair. This adds that extra bounce. You could use Toni and Guy or Bedhead products if you don’t own a mousse already. Now blow-dry your hair. Then use a medium-sized tong, and loosely curl your hair section by section. Fix the hairstyle using a hairspray. Nova and Schwarzkopf have good fixing sprays.

The Makeup

Keeping with the simplicity of the look, the makeup is natural and nude. The makeup supports their chemistry so well. This look does prove that less is more. This is how you could go about doing it yourself.

To begin with, you must tackle your skin, making it absolutely makeup ready. So once you have cleansed it, make sure you moisturize it well, as makeup looks best on well-hydrated skin. You could use Studio Moisture Cream by MAC. If you have dull, dry skin, it is a good idea to invest in a serum. It absorbs well, and makes the makeup look effortless and natural. If you don’t have one already, you could invest in Moisture Infusion Serum by MAC.

Now it’s primer time. Primer is essential as it prevents your foundation from looking runny, and also helps the makeup last longer. Apply primer on your face as well as your eyes. Bobbi Brown and MAC have a good range of primers. To finish the base, you need to apply a good coat of foundation. Deepika has used a dewy foundation in a satin finish that gives a medium coverage. You could opt for Face and Body Foundation or Mineralize Moisture Foundation, both by MAC. Once you have blended in your foundation well, dab a little bit of translucent powder on your face that will keep your face from sweating.

Now let’s focus on the eyes. This look uses the classic smoky eye, so just line your upper and lower lash line with a dark brown eye pencil, and smudge well. You could use Teddy Pencil by MAC. Use a skin-colored pencil to line the rim of the eyes. A recommended product is Chromographic Pencils in the shade NC 42/NC 35 by MAC. This will give your eyes an opened up, and a fresh and natural look. Don’t forget to latch on those falsies and top them with mascara. The eyes are super dramatic, so it is a good idea to use the Colorbar Duo Mascara. Finish the look by using a warm-toned highlighter on the higher planes of the face.A Cream Color Base in the shade Improper Copper by MAC is a great warm-toned highlighter.

This look has a focal point – the eyebrows. Use a brow pencil in Spiked or Stud by MAC. Fill them in with an eyeshadow or brow powder that is closest to the color of your brows.Anastasia Beverly Hills has eyebrow palettes that have everything you need to perfect those eyebrows in a single kit. The Anastasia products are available at Sephora.

Contour your face using a cream or liquid base concealer, or a foundation that is about three to four shades darker than your skin. Bronze the hollows of your face using a bronzer that is either matte or shiny. Gold Deposit from MAC is a great bronzing product to use. Use a blusher in warm tones, like light or nude browns. You could try blushes from NYX because they are really good.

Finish the look by using a nude shade in pink or brown on your lips. Gloss it up with some transparent gloss.

That sums up Ms. Padukone’s look on the latest Vogue India cover. Now it’s time you try this look.

Sass it up!
