Sweating or perspiration is a natural body process, and its main purpose is to regulate the body temperature. Along with it, sweat also helps in fighting infection. Wondering how? Well, sweat consists of a natural compound called dermcidin that helps in killing harmful bacteria before they can enter our body.

When we apply antiperspirants or deodorants, the toxins present in them clog the sweat ducts and ruin the natural process of killing these bacteria. As a result of this, the bacteria get an environment suitable for them to grow and multiply, causing our sweat to stink even more. The antiperspirants that we use to get rid of sweat contain harmful toxins that can cause cancer or damage our reproductive system. Thus, it is very essential to stay away from such disease-causing products.

Now, the question that arises is, if these deodorants and antiperspirants are not safe to use, what shall we do to get rid of the bad odor?

Thankfully, there is a natural alternative that can help you get rid of body odor – lime. Besides being the safest alternative, it is also said that lime is more powerful than any artificial product available in the market.

So, let’s see how can we use it.

1. Take a fresh and ripe lime.
2. Cut it in half and rub a half on your armpit.
3. Repeat the same on your other armpit as well.
4. Let the lime juice dry completely. Once it is dry, you can put on your clothes.
While you leave the lime juice to dry, the citric acid present in it kills the odor-causing bacteria and fungi.
5. Do this daily, and you will see the results for yourself!

Here’s a video tutorial on how you can use lime juice as a deodorant. Check it out!
