Skin problems are omnipresent. Unless, of course, you’re one of those rare lucky individuals who has been blessed with naturally beautiful skin! But for the rest of us lesser mortals, skin problems begin shortly after babyhood is over and last a lifetime thereafter.

They’re just one of those things that you know ‘grow old’ with you. Like starting with acne during the teenage years to age spots during your old age. You can almost be sure that they won’t ever leave you alone. Until you ‘kill’ them with the help of cosmetic surgeries.

So, does that mean you can never wear backless dresses because of that mole? Does that mean you have to suffer from skin problems forever?

A resounding NO would be the right answer. If cosmetic procedures are not an option for you, you can always turn to natural remedies. They come without the added costs and side effects of cosmetic surgeries, so you can be sure you won’t go wrong with them. Now, let’s get started on our favorite home remedies for common skin problems!

1. Moles? Gone With The Garlic!

From your genes to sun exposure, you can blame a lot of things for that mole on your back (1). However, getting rid of it is fairly easy and quite frankly, doesn’t require much effort on your part. Just the power of tolerating smells is enough! Why? Because this remedy makes use of the strongly odorous garlic.

All you have to do is take a clove of garlic and slice it in half. Now, take one of the garlic halves and place it on top of your mole, taping it up with some Band-Aid to keep it in place. Let it sit for four hours and repeat daily if you want the mole to vanish.

2. To Kill A Skin Tag

Skin tags are generally benign, so you have nothing to worry about if you have one (2). The places where they commonly occur include the upper chest, the neck, and the eyelids. Removing these unsightly skin growths the natural way is pretty easy.

Take some apple cider vinegar and mix it with equal parts water. Soak a cotton ball in this mixture just like you did for the moles and tape it to your skin tag in the exact same way too. Leave it on for the night. Repeat till the tag falls off.

While the above remedy works for skin tags on other parts of the body, it’s not suitable for those on the eyelids. To remove skin tags on your eyelids, use tee tree oil. Apply 2 drops of this oil on a cotton ball that’s already been soaked in water and apply it gently to your eyelids. Be careful to not let even a small amount slip into your eye!

3. One Hundred Days of Warts? No More!

Similar to skin tags, it can take you a long time to notice that you have a wart if it’s not in an obviously visible place. A product of the HPV virus, warts can be eliminated without the need of medical intervention (3).

Take a banana and rub the inside of it on the affected area. You might have to do this for several weeks in order to make the wart vanish. Alternatively, you can also apply honey on the wart and tape it up with Band-Aid. Let it stay overnight for best results.

Dark spots and ageing go hand in hand, and they only become worse when exposed to harmful UV rays once you get older (4). However, you can try a couple of remedies to fix them. For example, you could apply a mixture of onion juice and apple juice to the affected area and leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse. Or you could apply aloe vera to these spots, letting it stay for half an hour before washing it off. Whichever you choose, you’ll have to do it daily.

Stress and an active, outgoing lifestyle can lead to clogged pores, which, in turn, can cause acne and other skin problems. But don’t panic, fixing this is easy. All you require to do is boil some water in a pan. Once it reaches boiling point, remove it from the flame and pour it into a bowl. Now, lean over the bowl and cover your head with a towel to steam your face. Do this for 20 minutes a day and you will see results! Just don’t get too close to the steam as it can cause burns.

Each of these remedies is amazingly simple and incredibly effective. So, go ahead and give them a shot to witness noticeable results!
