It has only been a few weeks since January dawned and you have already forgotten your 2016 resolutions – eating organic food, exercising, and taking things slow. You might be even be consoling yourself by saying that since it is the same old story every year, it is not something to be surprised about! Here are ten important things you ought to keep in mind the next time you set goals for yourself.

1. Relax

When was the last time you had enjoyed a sunset, or watched a kid playing? When was the last time you set your mind free to wander on idle thoughts? Slow down…relax and enjoy. There is nothing you would lose!

2. It’s Okay To Go Offline

Carrying your laptop everywhere, even while on a shopping trip, to attend to urgent business needs always robs you of the joy of the very thing you had planned! It is absolutely okay if you go offline from office work, FB, Twitter, or WhatsApp once in a while and enjoy at least some moments for yourself.

3. Indulge Lavishly

Your favorite delicacy is tempting you? Go ahead and indulge yourself without feeling guilty. Once in a while at least, you deserve this indulgence, which is absolutely healthy for your body and soul.

4. Enjoy Domesticity

Slow down and enjoy house chores…not only will it give you a fresh feel, but also help you live a healthy lifestyle.

5. Be A Part Of A Club/Committee

Join a club or committee, if you haven’t done it already, or be more active in your organization if you already are into one! It is always awesome to have more friends.

6. Be More Helpful

If you belong to the category who think they haven’t come across any chances of reaching out to people to help them in need, just open your eyes and look around. You may see an aged person waiting to cross the road or a child struggling with his cycle. If there is nothing, you can always plant a sapling – it feels great. The joy of helping others is much more satisfying than the pay cheques you might receive in MNCs.

7. Enjoy Nature

Nature helps you to connect with yourself. So fly on a swing, cycle with the wind, or casually take a walk across your favorite spot at sunrise or sunset and see the difference it makes to your mood.

8. Do Not Ponder Too Much On Relationships

The roller coaster ride of emotion you went through in 2015 must have been a sour- sweet experience. Hence, it is quite natural to nurture a secret resolution to improve your relationships in 2016. This worry about love and relationships is quite tiring to the heart and in such situations you need to be calm and have immense trust in yourself. If you are quite certain that your relationship will not improve, however hard you might have tried, just let go, for it means that the person’s role in your life is over…move on!

9. Dance And Hobbies

Dance/sing or engage in your favorite activities and hobbies – it simply feels great!

10. Own A Pet

Pets never break your heart. Sharing your life with a loving pet is a good way to combat the loneliness you may feel.

It is never too late. Implement these in your life and find peace.
