Parents always wish to guide their children and teach them the best possible ways to grow into responsible and happy adults. And when their child heads off to college, the mothers are sorely tempted to offer a list of instructions and dos and don’ts.

Here is a list of nine things that every mom tells her college-going daughter.

1. Be True To Yourself

Now that your daughter is not a kid, prepare her to be strong and responsible enough to handle any situation and not to give in to peer pressure.

Every mom must encourage her daughter to make her own decisions rather than forcing it on her. Mothers should teach their daughters to trust their instincts.

2. Enjoy These Years

They let their daughters enjoy their lives to the fullest as college life doesn’t exist for long. This is the time they can have loads of fun with their friends.

3. Always Be A Good Friend

Being a good friend is very important. Treat your friends the same way you want to be treated. Having different opinions is normal, and discussions always help you learn more.

4. Think Twice Before You Post Anything On Social Media

Although you can delete a post anytime in the future, it’s better to avoid such a situation where you regret posting something about yourself or your personal life.

5. Learn From Your Experiences

One failure doesn’t mean a failure for life. You must always learn from your experiences and move ahead in your life.

6. Explore Your Dreams And Goals

This is the time you should start setting your goals and work on them. Whichever career you choose in the future, make sure you’re happy with that.

7. Crushes Are Temporary – Don’t Let Them Affect You Lifelong

Infatuations and crushes are quite common during these days. Enjoy the moment, but don’t let breakups and crushes affect your life in any way. Learn to get over these things soon.

8. Look After Your Body, But Don’t Get Obsessed With How You Look

Maintaining your body and trying to look perfect is a good thing, and we all must try to keep that standard. But, filling your body with drugs and steroids just to look cool is not a great option. Appearance matters a lot, but at the end of the day, it’s your inner soul that is counted.

9. I Will Always Be There For You

No matter how hard the situation is, a mother always stands next to her daughter to guide her in the best possible way. And giving this confidence and trust to her daughter is something that a great mother can do.
