10 Tricks That Can Help Women Look Slimmer In 2 Minutes

We all want to stay in perfect shape, don’t we? And most of the times, being healthy has nothing to do with it. All we want to do is be able to wear that sexy dress that we picked up at the sale last week! Come on, let’s be honest. That’s the only time when we really do want to get rid of those love handles, extra tummy, and all the rolls, right?

But usually that doesn’t work because losing inches and extra fat takes time and commitment – something that can’t be achieved overnight. And by the time you do manage to get rid of those rolls, chances are, that fashion trend too would have passed…

So, what’s the solution then? How do you manage to catch all the fashion trend deadlines and also not look and feel like a bulging sack of potatoes? Well, there are ways to deal with that! So, just keep reading, and we promise by the end of this article, you’ll be able to not only wear all the dresses that you want, but you’ll also look at least several kilos and several inches smaller!

1. It All Begins With Your Footwear

Yes, we know that this sounds like something totally far removed from the issue that we are trying to address here – that of extra kilos and love handles. What can a pair of shoes probably do to help with those, right? Well, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that you’re wrong! Shoes play a huge part in adding or shedding those kilos visually. To create the illusion of slimness, the first step is to create the illusion of height. And your shoes play a very important role in this. Hence, always go for nude shoes sans any clasps and ankle straps. Nudes create an illusion of length, blending with your skin color, while straps and clasps create blocks making the whole frame look chunkier.

2. Measure Yourself And Always Wear The Right Size

The general perception is that if someone is chunky or stocky, wearing loose clothing helps. But that is nothing but a misconception. Wearing clothes that are too loose or too tight do not help, but only contribute to making your chunkiness even more obvious. It is safest and also the best practice, to wear clothing that is just the right size for you. Just make sure you wear cuts that flatter your shape, and you are good to go!

3. Do Not Slouch. Ever.

Not only does this bad posture mess with your spine’s health, it also makes you tummy jut out, which, in turn, makes you look unnecessarily bulgier in the middle. This only serves in highlighting your problem areas (if you have a tummy), or simply creates one where there is none (if you do not have a tummy).

4. Contouring Is The Way To Go!

We usually do not like to recommend clichés, but when something really works, we do not hold back from recommending them either. And contouring really, really helps. It is like magic – a spell that can make chubby cheeks and double chins go away with the wave of a wand. Well, not really a wand, but a brush. Same difference, eh?

5. Get Tanned

We know that good Indian girls do not get a tan because, duh, fair is the only beautiful… NOT! We strongly recommend that if you want to look slimmer, getting tanned is the way to go. And if you can’t get one, just use makeup and create a fake tan. It helps to hide cellulite and is a great way of creating the optical illusion of slimmer thighs, legs, and arms.

6. What Fabric You Wear Makes A Huge Difference

Always opt for softer, smoother fabrics as they are easier to hide your flaws. Anything that is rigid or creates a square cut of your torso area is a problem. We would recommend flowy materials over stiff ones any day.

7. Accessories Do More Than Just Make A Statement

They also help in creating the illusion of a slimmer you. For example, a scarf may not be the best idea if you have a short neck, but a V-neck top can do wonders to create the illusion of a longer, slenderer neck.

8. Unnecessary Scruffs And Folds Are Bad News

Never try to hide your problem areas by adding layers, ruffles, or scruffs, etc. They do more harm than good and end up highlighting flaws instead of hiding them. Our suggestion? Go for stuff that isn’t gaudy or carries big prints around the problem areas. That takes the attention away from them.

9. Hairdo Is Important Too!

This is kind of a no-brainer. It really makes a huge difference, the hairstyle you wear. And it can either make you look chiseled or round. So, choose wisely!

10. Shapewear Is Yes-Wear

This is also a no-brainer actually. We all know that shapewear helps in keeping those annoying bulges in check. However, we recommend that you wear this only for special occasions so as not to feel too contained by it.
