The 20s is a weird phase. In your early 20s, you’re most likely in college, where you’re prohibited from doing a number of things. However, by the end of it, you become an adult in the real sense.

We go through so many changes in our 20s – some small, some big, some we don’t care about, and some that have a great impact on our lives. In these 10 years, we explore new careers or continue our education, start new relationships, and experience romance. But most importantly, we learn how to live our life on our own terms without getting influenced by others’ decisions.

Along with our mentality, our bodies change too, and every change is significant enough to surprise us at one point or the other. So girls, if you’re in your 20s, here are six ways in which your body is going to change:

1. Your Body Starts Getting Curvy.

In your early 20s, because of the metabolic and hormonal changes, your body starts retaining fat in some places. This surprising fat distribution in places such as the thighs, bust, and hips makes you look curvier and fuller.

2. Your Menstrual Cycle Becomes A Bit Stable.

Unlike before, you understand your menstrual cycle better, and it becomes stable and regular. No more surprising menses!

3. But The Wicked Cramps Will Not Leave You So Soon.

And yes, they become worse by the day as our bodies start producing a high level of prostaglandin (a hormone). This hormonal change makes menstrual cramps more torturous.

4. While You Gain Weight In Some Body Parts, You Lose In Some Parts.

You guessed it right! Your vulva tends to lose fat and become slimmer. Bonus – the vaginal muscles become stronger with a tremendous ability to self-lubricate.

This can make you crave for sex quite often. Since you’re in your 20s, you might have already experienced that! *wink, wink*

5. Your Bones Become Stronger Day By Day.

The 20s is also called as the strengthening stage where your bones become stronger. To cooperate with the regular process, you must workout regularly and stimulate the growth of the bone cells.

You might also notice a slight increase in your height every year.

6. You Will Notice Frequent Acne All Over Your Face.

As if teenage acne was not enough! In the 20s, your skin will be prone to adult acne. And again, the culprit is hormonal imbalance – acne usually occurs due to the rise in estrogen and progesterone levels before the onset of your menstrual cycle.

Now that you know the changes your body might go through during your 20s, keep an eye on yourself!
