Chyawanprash can be taken on an empty stomach or before a meal with warm milk. It can also be taken at night, preferably 1 to 2 hours after having dinner. A daily dosage of 1 to 2 teaspoons of Chyawanprash for adults and ½ a teaspoon for children is recommended. You can take Chyawanprash along with warm almond milk or water in place of regular milk.

Chyawanprash Recipe

  1. Heat 250 grams of ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
  2. Add 1 kg of finely chopped amla and cook until it softens.
  3. Add 100 grams of powdered ashwagandha, 50 grams of powdered neem, 10 grams each of powdered pippali, white sandalwood, tulsi, cardamom, arjuna, and brahmi, and a pinch of saffron. Stir well.
  4. Add 250 grams of safflower honey. You may otherwise adjust the quantity to achieve the desired sweetness and continue cooking on low heat until the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency.
  5. Let it cool. Store it in an airtight container.
  6. Allow it to sit for a few days to let the flavors come together and enhance its efficacy.
