Clearly, she looks like she has lost a lot of pounds. In a recent interview, Celine Dion told ABC News, “It’s true that I’m a little thinner. Everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong.” It’s a relief that she is okay. But how did Celine Dion lose weight? Let’s find out in the next section.

How Celine Dion Lost Weight

Celine revealed that she took up ballet classes. She told People magazine, “People say, ‘She’s a lot thinner,’ but I’m working hard. I like to move and (weight loss) comes with it.” She goes for ballet four times a week. This, of course, burns a lot of calories, imparting a svelte figure.

She also candidly expressed her love for dancing. “Dancing has been in my DNA all of my life,” she told People. “It’s a dream. And so hard!”

Celine Dion also shared her diet secrets. Here’s what she eats in a day.

Breakfast – Black coffee + croissant

Lunch – Baguette + salad or cauliflower vichyssoise (soup) or quiche with salad + sweet Italian custard, Sabayon

Snacks – Seasonal fruits or Bavarian figs or French cherries

Dinner – Sfihas (Mediterranean meat pie) + fried cauliflower or French fries occasionally.

In addition to doing ballet and eating good, Celine Dion also exercises regularly. Here’s her workout routine.

Celine Dion’s Workout

In an interview with Elle, Celine Dion said, “I start on the stationary bike, then, I lie on my stomach on a massage table, pushing into my palms or elbows to tone my shoulder blades in order to hold my neck — which is very long — while I sing. My physiotherapist makes sure my spine is aligned and that my shoulder blades aren’t stuck together.”

Her twins also keep her on her toes. She also performs almost six days a week and goes on tours. This helps her burn a few more calories.

Celine Dion’s Eating Disorder Rumors

Any kind of body transformation sets off rumours, especially if the person is a celebrity. Celine Dion was also skinny shamed, and rumours of eating disorders started to float around.

In January 2020, Celine Dion decided to silence her critics. She told TheSun, “I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy. If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture. If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone.”

On her Courage World Tour, Celine Dion said, “Is there anything wrong about my body? I do ballet. I do a lot of stretching and I work out because it helps my mind, body and soul. When you go back, when I was 12 years old, my face was rounder because you have more fat when you’re younger…But I’ve always been very thin.”

Sadly, this is not the first time that she had to address weight loss or eating disorder rumours. Back in 2007, she had to stand up for herself and millions of other humans who have a similar body shape/type. She said, “It pisses people off that I am thin and I don’t make any effort. I have been thin all my life. Nobody in my family is overweight.”

Celine Dion Has Always Been Thin

Celine Dion has always been lean and thin. She has been working out recently, which could have been the reason for her skinnier appearance. But looking at her old photos, it is evident that she has not undergone “drastic” weight loss.

What we need to understand is that people come in all body shapes and sizes. Celine Dion happens to fall in the “thin” or lean body shape category. This body type is also known as ectomorphic body type.

People with this body type tend to lose weight rather than gaining it, no matter how much they eat. It is the other extreme of the endomorphic body type, where people tend to gain weight quickly instead of losing it.

Also, as we age, we lose the collagen in our cells. The skin loses elasticity, and muscle loss kicks in.  As a result, people might start to look “skinny.”

Celine Dion has lost a little bit of weight. She practices ballet, eats well, and feels great in her skin. But she has always had a thin body frame and is doing great in her life. We wish nothing but more happiness, peace, and more song albums. Because, in the end, all that matters is a healthy body and mind.
