Deep conditions hair
Quick to use
No fuss mask
Controls hair fall
Very thick consistency
Although my hair is overall healthy, there are days it doesn’t behave like I would want it to. Especially in the summer and rainy seasons, when the weather is not stable, it gets hard to manage my hair. I was on a lookout for a hair mask that would nourish and deep condition my hair and tame the frizz.
My sister is using MamaEarth’s products for my niece, and I came across this mask while ordering some products for her.
At this point, I was ready to use anything and everything on my hair, depending on good reviews. So, I checked out a few reviews and the claims this product made, and it was everything I wanted for my hair.
I ordered the mask immediately. It came in a brown box. The mask is packed in a big tub which cannot be carried around anywhere. It’s bulky and sturdy. The mask inside is thick and smells a little weird. But, as I said, I was up for anything.
I use this mask on damp hair, for 15 minutes, and wash it off with shampoo. I have already used it four times, and I could see the results from the very first use. It is definitely the most moisturizing and nourishing mask. Although it does not stand up to all its claims, it’s not that bad either.
Okay, to sum it all up, don’t expect this mask to do wonders for you. For me, this mask made my hair feel softer, shinier, and more manageable. It felt like it was getting better. But, this is all the mask did to make my hair feel healthy. The hair fall was reduced, but my hair is still thin and a little brittle.
Overall, this mask is excellent for deep conditioning and extremely dry and dehydrated hair. Thumbs up!
Easy to blend
Great shade range
Primer is a must
Are you all also fans of drugstore products? Well, I am definitely a fan! For the price these products retail at, they sometimes end up exceeding expectations. They outperform and what else can you ask for from drugstore products! Maybelline New York City Mini Eyeshadow Palette is another such outstanding and affordable product.
Everything from the packaging to shade range and performance is commendable about these products. These are little palettes and they fit right into the palms of your hand, that tiny. The palettes contain six shades each. All these shades are professionally curated; they are meant to be with each other types and are a perfect mix of mattes and shimmers. Like, they knew which shade will look better in matte and which requires glitter.
I don’t think I am going to mention anything negative about these palettes because, honestly, I love everything about them. They are available in 14 shade choices… that’s massive! I own about 4 of them, and all the shades in these four palettes can be mixed and matched to create numerous looks. I never face a moment where I find myself thinking that I don’t have a particular shade or I need to more add shades to my collection. These 4 palettes are sufficient to pull off any look, at any time of the day.
Okay, I may be exaggerating a little, but trust me, these eyeshadow palettes are not going to disappoint you.
About the application, I always use a primer underneath. A white primer on the lids helps in improving the pigmentation of these colors, also makes them last super long, say 8 hours minimum. I also always do my eye makeup before the rest of my face. This way, if there is any fallout, it gets washed away. I think the technique matters a lot. And if you are not using the right method with the world’s best makeup palette, it’s going to be a waste on you. So, yeah, I’m very happy with these handy makeup palettes.
Velvety, soft texture
Does not last long
Doesn’t blend very well
Accentuates fine lines and pores
Not for oily/combination skin
Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation - I couldn’t help but buy it. I felt it was a little highly priced, but I just wanted to try this because the name sounded so cool. I got the shade Nude to match my wheatish skin tone. And, my skin is a combination type.
The brand claims that this foundation is velvety, soft-matte, lasts about 12 hours and all other good things. But for me, nothing seems to have worked. There are more problems with this foundation than there are good qualities in it.
The first time I used this foundation was on top of primer, God, was it a mistake. It highlighted my pores so much that my skin looked like a sponge. I tried blending it in, but more blending only made it dissipate. I had to take it off immediately.
The next time I tried it without primer, and it wasn’t very bad. But, within a couple of hours, it oxidized and became two tones darker. Also, it melts under the sun. I wonder if there is anything right with this foundation. I am not going to try it ever again.
Anyway, for me, it did not work at all. But, people with normal skin type could give it a try. However, make sure you read enough reviews before you decide to spend your money on it.
Light to medium coverage
I bought this concealer because it said ‘oil-free formula.’ For my terribly oily and acne prone skin, everything I buy has to be a thoughtful choice so that I don’t end up looking like an active volcano. I got the shade Light/Medium Warm which was a ‘true match’ for my skin tone. I found it a little pricey for the quantity, but because a lot of products don’t suit my sensitive skin, I didn’t mind paying the amount.
So, did I like it? Well, I don’t know the answer to that. It’s a very average product which didn’t cause breakouts. The packaging is average. It comes with a brush applicator which delivers a lot of product. The packaging is not very hygienic, but precise application is possible.
The consistency of this product is very runny. Yes, it is easy to blend it, but it doesn’t offer coverage. It provides sheer coverage, and building up too much of the product makes it look heavy. I have deep dark circles, and this product doesn’t cover them up. But, it does a fair job of covering up every other imperfection on my face, I have to give it that
Overall, it’s an average product that I can use along with another concealer (which I am yet to find) which will cover up my dark circles. It should be a good product for anyone looking for light coverage. It’s just not for me.
Easy To use
Offers great pigmentation
Functional applicator wand
Does not survive meals
My first NYX Professional Makeup Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick was in the shade Stone Fox. It is a beautiful deep gray shade with blue undertones. I usually will not go for this shade, but I was cosplaying for comic con. I bought it for that purpose. But I ended up loving its texture and how well it lasted throughout the day.
So, I bought another shade which is less dramatic and suitable for everyday wear. The shade I got is Cherry Skies. It is such a beautiful deep wine red color which complements my wheatish skin tone.
The packaging is very convenient, and the applicator wand makes the whole process easy. The tube is slightly chubby, meaning extra quantity. So for the price it comes at, I’d say it is a jackpot buy.
This lip cream is intensely pigmented and gives a full-color payoff in just one swipe, so only a few swipes are required. That way, this cream lipstick does not feel heavy. And since the texture is creamy, it moisturizes my lips as well. Also, when the lipstick is fading, it leaves a natural plum stain on my lips.
Those were the good things about NYX Professional Makeup Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick. Now coming to the things I don’t like. This lippie transfers very easily. It does not survive meals, and one huge minus point is, it stains my chin when I’m eating.
During the comic con, I mostly survived on chips and juices, so Stone Fox stayed on me well and lasted longer. But with Cherry Skies, I got to know the real truth of how things can’t be perfect all the time. I still use it, though as I simply cannot resist the beautiful shade.
Makes the hair smooth and luscious
No pump dispenser
I got Matrix Biolage Smooth Proof Avocado Deep Smoothing Serum three weeks ago. The claim of ‘anti-frizz control even in 97% humidity’ and the formulation of avocado caught my attention.
Though it comes at a pocket-friendly price, I wish it came in a pump dispenser packaging. Because it makes the whole process of dispensing the serum easy, but with this flip-open cap, the bottle needs to be tilted to get the liquid out, and most of the times, a lot of it gets wasted.
Other than that, I like how it is working on my hair. Whenever I use it, it makes every strand smooth, and it makes my hair look luscious. It eases down my tangles and controls my frizz. However, there is not much effect on my hair fall.
I also use it before straightening my hair, and it works very well that way too. It is a non-sticky formula, so there is no feeling of greasiness or weighing down of hair. I am quite satisfied and happy with this serum by Matrix.
Just a few spritzes are required
Very simple packaging
No cover for the press-spray lid
I remember loving how Calvin Klein Eternity For Women Eau De Parfum Spray smelled on my mother and she spraying it on me once in a while. I was a kid back then. I have grown up now, but my taste remains the same. I still love the scent of it, and finally, I can afford it. So, I got one for myself a few months ago.
The quality is classic! And I love that about it. Calvin Klein Eternity opens in a fresh watery freesia and alluring flower essence. Then, it settles down to something aquatic and powdery-flower.
My overall impression about it is elegance and warmth. It reminds me of my mother. The lingering sillage is also bliss.
The only problem I have with it is the packaging. For the price it comes at, the packaging is too simple. And to add to it, the press-spray lid does not have a cover, which makes it unfit to take along while traveling.
Does not look chalky
It was my mom who left her Lakme Rose Powder in my apartment when she came to visit me for a few days. She forgot to take it with her obviously. But her silliness turned out to be my benefit once I started using it.
Lakme Rose Powder has become one of my favorite baking powders. I used it once, and I liked it. Fast forward three months, I’m still using it and still loving it. All thanks to mom!
It doesn’t matter which shade I use, Warm Pink or Soft Pink, it does the job well. Because I have very oily skin, I always need to set the foundation. So this is my go-to face powder and I love it. I have used other loose powders from high-end brands, but now I can’t look at anything else except this because of its effectivity and affordability.
The powder has very finely crushed particles and it feels really smooth and light on the skin. As one of the Lakme Classics, it is affordable, consistent, and trustworthy.
After I bake my foundation and contouring with this powder, I usually leave it on for about ten minutes. The powder seeps in and adapts really well to my skin, and it is not messy when brushing it off. The pinkish tint really accentuates the base, and it doesn’t look chalky at all. I would recommend this powder to anyone who’s looking for a good baking powder.

I am a makeupholic, and I wear makeup every day. Even if it is just a casual day, I have makeup on. Having said that, I need to use a makeup remover every day as well. There were times when l just passed out with my makeup on and I got one or two breakouts. So I make sure that I remove my makeup every night. Over the years, I have used many cleansers but have never stuck to one. This time around I am using Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil, and it has been over a month.
I first started using the smaller bottle but then, seeing how well it works, I also got the bigger bottle. I carry the small bottle in my bag and keep the bigger bottle at home. The bigger bottle is a little bulky, so I don’t carry it around. But it is travel-friendly as the dispenser can be locked securely by turning it the other way.
Yes, it is quite expensive, but after experiencing the results, I feel like it is worth it. I have dry skin, so it is essential for me to get every bit of moisture that I can. Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil does not make my skin feel stretchy or out off moisture, and that is one of the reasons I adore it.
I use this cleansing oil every night to remove my makeup and call it a night. It works very well in eliminating everything, even eye makeup, without any irritation. I never had any issues with dryness, irritation, or breakouts when using this oil. I pump it 4-5 times on my palm and start rubbing it gently on my bare skin. The oil becomes a little creamy once it comes in contact with water and rinses off like a face wash. I don’t need to rewash my face nor do I need a toner to set my face. This cleansing oil has made my night routine easier and faster.
So did I find the ultimate makeup cleanser?
Probably. But quite honestly, I do have the urge to try a different product, which I will after I run out of these two bottles. Then again, if the next product doesn’t work like this one, I will stick to this cleansing oil from Bobbi Brown.
Does not leave a white cast
Works decently as a body lotion
Not ideal for oily skin
Leaves a film layer
Makes the skin sticky
When it comes to my skin, I am very particular about what goes on it, especially with sunscreens. I have oily skin that gets super oily after I head out. I have pimples here and there, and my makeup does not stay on for long, my eyeliner is easy to smudge.
I always opt for gel moisturizers because that’s the best option for oily skin. When I saw an ad of Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte SPF 30 PA++ Lotion, I was very impressed for its non-sticky and light consistency and was all in for it.
I will say that the packaging is the highlight of this sunscreen because it is functional and travel-friendly. The fragrance is not overpowering and lingers on the skin for a while after application.
I apply Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte SPF 30 PA++ Lotion in the morning, 15 minutes before heading out. This sunscreen has been lying on my dressing table for quite some time now, and I have been using it on and off.
I used to apply it on my face, but after two to three uses I have stopped — the reason being my oily skin. Though this Lakme sunscreen is gel-based, it makes my skin heavy and sticky. And that is a huge minus point for me. I also don’t like the film it leaves behind. Though Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte SPF 30 PA++ Lotion does not leave a white cast like most of the sunscreens I know, it adds some kind of layer, which is a minus point for oily skin.
I didn’t want to waste it, so I started using it on my hands and legs and that way, I have no complaints about it.
I do wish it worked on my face. Will I repurchase? No.
Washes off easily
Makes hair smooth
Provides decent cleaning
Does not reduce hair fall
It must be a sudden change in the weather or just the hard water that is causing my hair to break easily. I haven’t had a hair bath without panicking looking at the number of hair strands I see falling. My comb is another story. Until recently, I never faced such problems. I started looking up home remedies and have been following few. Around two months back, I was in a supermarket and came across L'Oreal Paris Fall Resist 3x Shampoo. The black and hot pink packaging looked very attractive, and the claims were affirming too. Instantly, I bought the biggest bottle available which is in a pump dispenser.
I have combination hair which gets oily on the scalp in about two days time and dries on the tips. So considering my oily scalp, I wash my hair four times a week. And every weekend, I try my best to either oil my hair or make an organic hair mask. During that time, I have to use the shampoo two times for thorough cleaning.
Now coming to if I like L'Oreal Paris Fall Resist 3x Shampoo or not, I will say that I’m on 50-50 level. I do regret buying such a huge bottle in one go. This L’Oreal shampoo has the most appealing scent which lasts long. That way, my hair smells fresh all the time. My scalp is cleansed decently, and the oiliness on it is pretty much controlled. The reason why I got this shampoo was my massive hair fall, but even after two months, I don’t see noticeable changes. My hair has become very soft, and the texture looks like silk, but I think that is mostly from my home remedy combination.
I personally feel that this shampoo is not very effective in terms of resisting hair fall. And the claim is too far-fetched.
Improves hair texture
Smoothens and softens curly hair
Adds a little volume
I have 3A Curly hair which is neither oily or dry. Once I started using this shampoo, I never stopped, and it has been almost two years now. I love it so much! It just improves the whole look of my hair. The smell is very appealing, and it lingers for a really long time. It never broke my hair nor did it give me any dandruff. Over the years, my hair looks amazing. I will recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality shampoo with affordable price.
Repairs damaged hair
Safe for chemically-treated hair
Deeply nourishes and replenishes the scalp
Lives up to its claims
Does not reduce split ends
Since I switched to this professional shampoo, I haven’t looked back. Though the price is on the higher side, I think it’s completely worth it. I started using L'Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Lipidium Shampoo a year ago. I got to know about it from the ever beautiful Aishwarya Rai (through ads, if you're wondering how!).
So, here was the condition of my hair- due to straightening and then curling and then straightening again, my hair seemed to have lost all its moisture and quality. My scalp started breaking down, and it became very dry. It was screaming for help. Since this shampoo is for dry scalp and damaged hair, I thought of giving it a shot.
I use this shampoo every alternate day along with the masque. Over the weekend, I oil my hair with coconut oil. And when I oil my hair, I need to wash it twice to get rid of the grease. I like my shampoo when it forms a good lather, and this shampoo does just that. It also smells amazing. It has the fragrance of flowers, which is fresh and appealing. The fragrance lasts until my next wash.
Like I mentioned before, it’s been almost a year since I started using this shampoo. So, with my constant care, I have been benefiting from it a lot. My straw-like hair has become much softer and looks healthier. There is no improvement with my split ends, but those can only be removed with trimming I guess. Other than that, I don’t have any complaints. I think this shampoo is one of the best out there because it stays true to its claim. My hair feels much softer and nourished.
Controls hair fall
Cleanses the scalp very well
Imparts a cooling sensation
Not suitable for winter
Does not lather easily
Last summer, I was frustrated with my oily hair. Because of sweat, my scalp started itching and irritating me very much. When I purchased this shampoo, I was not looking for much. I just needed my scalp clean.
This expectation turned out positive. I am in love with this shampoo. From the first use itself, I started loving it. To begin with, while forming a lather, this shampoo gives a cooling sensation. It makes me feel very fresh, and there is no more itchiness and irritation.
My hair fall has visibly gone down. After my hair dries, it looks voluminous and well defined. This shampoo that comes at such a reasonable price works wonders for me.
The only drawback is, I cannot use this shampoo during winter for the very same reason why I like it. The cooling sensation. I tried it once, but I ended up getting a cold. So, for me, this is a great summer shampoo but not so great for winter use.
Deeply nourishes the scalp and hair
Best for dry hair
Cleanses hair without leaving any residue
Does not irritate the scalp
Does not work on hair fall
Mild effect on dandruff
I have been using this shampoo for about a year now. I have shifted from one shampoo to another once or twice, but I always end up buying this. I like it so much that I can’t seem to find a better one compared to L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Shampoo.
The packaging itself looks so grand, and the texture is very appealing. I use the 640 ml, which easily lasts me four to five months, so it’s very efficient. I like the pump dispenser as it gives me the exact amount of shampoo I require for my hair.
It smells great! I have dry hair, so it works very well. I am not so sure how it will work on oily scalp though. But for my dry scalp, I have witnessed the difference. With other shampoos, my scalp feels clean, but the after effect is terrible. My hair feels dry all over, and the frizziness is horrible!
But with this shampoo, my scalp and hair feel nourished. And the frizziness is tamed, and my hair feels beautiful and smells amazing. For this reason, I will recommend this shampoo to all the dry haired people.
There is one drawback. And that is, it does not do anything for my hair fall.
Does not cause breakouts
Does not cause oiliness or greasiness
Rejuvenates dull skin
I am a big TBS fan because of its amazing range of products and also because of its fragrances. I am sure many of you will relate to it. I got The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost Serum last month. My skin is dry, and sometimes, just a moisturizer doesn’t do the trick.
To be honest, I was a little skeptical about how well it will work with my moisturizer. My skin didn’t feel any sort of oiliness or greasiness. I use it on top of my moisturizer, and it gives me the exact amount of nourishment I want with a hint of glow. If you have dry skin, you will understand the joy of any shine. The dullness is nowhere to be seen! I am in love with it!
The bottle is quite small though. I wish it came in a bigger size. The serum has a clear light gel texture with a strong orange smell. Whenever I apply the serum, my nostrils feel rejuvenated with the uplifting fragrance. It doesn’t last for long though.
Overall, this is another wonderful product for me from TBS. A piece of advice – if you have sensitive or oily skin, I suggest you skip it and go for more neutral products. It did not break me out (thankfully) but know that every product works differently for everyone. Besides that, keep your skin happy and healthy!
Can be used as a primer
Nourishes your skin
Does not cause breakouts or irritation
Makes skin supple and smooth
Evens out tone
Breakable glass jar
It is just recently that I started taking care of my skin. Everyone seems to be becoming so advanced with their makeup and skincare. There is also a lot of fuzz about crystal clear skin. Not only adults, but even teenagers these days! Goodness! Whenever I scroll my Instagram page, I feel awful for not getting with the times and trying out all these trends. But things are now changing, and I am leveling up my game too!
On Instagram, I saw an amazing review for Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream. I was so impressed that I got one for myself. Ever since I got this cream, I have been using it as a committed devotee. This cream is expensive, so I’m very careful with it! Especially because the jar is glass. It will crush my heart if it falls and breaks. But then, the whole packaging looks elegant. The Bobbi Brown logo on the top of the black cap for me is the highlight of this product.
The texture looks creamy and thick in the container, but it actually feels very light on your face. The opening of the jar is smaller than the rest of the jar, so once the cream reaches the halfway point of the jar, it tends to get a little difficult to scoop out the cream. I used to use my fingertips to scoop out the cream, but now I use a spatula.
This cream is one cream to look out for. Even if it does not have sunblock, it can be used under any sunscreen easily. I use this face cream as a primer too, and it works just as well as any primer. It does not make my skin flaky or cakey. Instead, I am blessed with nourished and happy skin.
Try getting samples of it and see if it works for you.
A little goes a long way
Can be used as a night cream
Makes skin soft and smooth
Not a strong sun-protecting lotion
I am a winter girl! I love winter. But my love for this season and the way my skin reacts to it are contradictory. My skin is dry and becomes even more dry once it feels the cold breeze before the actual winter starts. I used to apply oil to keep my skin moisturized. It does work, but it gets very greasy and messy. To deeply moisturize my skin and keep away the greasiness, I bought this Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.
I started using it even before winter started because I just couldn’t resist using it. It has been one and a half months of using it every morning and night. I take a pea-sized amount 'cause that is enough for full coverage and blend it all over. The pump dispenser is bae! It releases the right quantity and prevents wastage. I follow the same routine at night.
This routine has benefitted my skin immensely. Usually, during winter, I face a lot of skin problems like rough cheeks and rashes. I had to literally do oil baptism to stay away from all these problems. Now, all I have to do is use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, and I’m sorted.
I love how it moisturizes my skin without any greasiness. The texture is so light that it’s a piece of cake to blend, and it gets absorbed within seconds. I haven’t faced any breakouts either. This is a must try.
However, I am not sure if it will work the same during summer. I say this because even if my skin needs moisture, it needs proper sun protection too. This lotion does have sun protecting agents, but I don't think it is not strong enough for the harsh summer sun.
Controls acne and pimples
Gets absorbed easily
Controls oil and shine
Provides hydration to normal or oily skin
Cannot be used with another moisturizer or makeup
I have very oily skin, so much so that by two to three hours after touching up my moisturizer, my skin gets oily. I think that’s a major issue with oily skin. Right?
I saw my friend using this L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel and the look of it caught my attention. The fresh blue seemed young and fresh. Within no time, I bought it too!
I use it to wake my skin up in the morning daily. I can’t use it before applying makeup as it doesn’t blend well with it. But that’s the least of my concerns. It has been over a month, and ever since I started using it, my oil secretion has visibly reduced. Right after application, this gel gives a tingling cooling effect which is very fresh during the summer. And, as it claims, I get a matte finish. The effect lasts for about four to five hours. That itself is a winner for me.
The gel is not runny, but just the right amount of thickness to blend really well and it gets absorbed quickly. The smell is fresh like the way the moisturizer looks, but it fades away soon after application which might be liked by many. L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel leaves my skin hydrated and smooth.
I absolutely love the matte finish and the way it is controlling my acne. It’s hard to believe that I have found the moisturizer my skin has been thirsting for. It is one of the best I have used, and I will be recommending it.
But friends, I do have one complain about it. Though L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel has become close to my heart, it does not have SPF. So the question arises, how can we use it during the day? I don’t have the answer for it. I mean I did try my usual sunscreen, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. Since this gel moisturizer gives a matte finish after absorption, my sunscreen becomes too dry to blend on my skin. I am confused myself. I am looking for a sunscreen that will go just right with this gel moisturizer. I am still holding onto L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel because I love it so much. Probably a mild consistency sunscreen will work. Fingers crossed on my hunt for it.
Does not cause breakouts
Controls oil and pimples
My skin is very oily, but even then, it needs moisturization. It is very difficult to find the right cream that meets the middle ground. Also, pimples erupt out of the blue, especially on the days when my skin needs to be spot on. Ugh!
When I first purchased Vedic Line Eucalyptus & Rosemary Moisturizer, I was drawn towards it for its ‘blemishes and acne skin.’ Ever since that day, I never looked back. I’ll tell you why.
I bought the 100ml pack which comes in a sophisticated white and silver bottle. The screw top is silver with a pump dispenser that has a transparent cap. The entire packaging is hygienic.
Vedic Line Eucalyptus & Rosemary Moisturizer has become my daily moisturizer. I use it in the morning before I start my day. The cream glides onto my skin easily. It is smooth and light. The cream balances my oiliness and does not increase it. Perfect, isn’t it? But that’s not all. I need just a pea-sized amount to cover my face, so that makes it long-lasting.
The only drawback is that Vedic Line Eucalyptus & Rosemary Moisturizer does not have SPF or any sort of sun protection. Applying another cream on my face is out of question. But thankfully, I don’t get much direct exposure to the sun. Early morning, I sit in a cab and head to my office, and by the time I’m off, the sun is gone. That way, it works for me. But during off-days, I don’t use it.
Other than that, my skin has been receiving Vedic Line Eucalyptus & Rosemary Moisturizer very well. I haven’t had any breakouts yet. It has been more than seven months now. Sometimes when I don’t take proper skin
