Does not crease
Easy to apply
Conceals dark circles effectively
I have read and heard so much about NYX Professional Makeup Dark Circle Concealer, and it seemed very promising, so I thought I’ll give it a try. To be honest, I wasn’t sure how well it would work because I have very prominent dark circles and the products I have used on it never worked.
The concealer comes in an outer box with all the information on it. It comes in a small round jar with a black screw lid. Overall, the packaging is travel-friendly but not hygienic.
The texture is creamy with orange pigments which are perfect for diffusing blue tones of dark circles. The consistency is semi-thick, so on my combination skin, it glides on very smoothly and easily. I got the Light shade because I have fair skin tone.
I use my ring finger to dab around my dark circles and use my fingers to blend it. The application is very easy. One layer does not really conceal so I apply three layers. Since this concealer is buildable, it works great!
NYX Professional Makeup Dark Circle Concealer has decent longevity when I apply it alone, but I have long working hours, so I brush it with a translucent powder to prolong its stay. The concealer does an excellent job of covering dark circles. However, it doesn’t brighten my under eye area.
Overall, I am really happy with NYX Dark Circle Concealer. I am so glad I finally found a concealer that works! It is a must try!
Does not smudge
Color stays on point for long
When I was at the MAC store and was looking at the collections of eyeshadows, I wanted to buy everything. But I could afford only two containers of MAC Matte Eye Shadow. With the help of the beautician, I chose the shades “I’m Into It” and “Omega.”
The packaging is decent and sturdy, and the size is perfect to carry around. After getting these two shades, I have been using them daily to the office and even during night outs. The combination blends so well together.
What I do is, I use “Omega” as the base and spread it all over my eye crease, then I take “I’m into it” and blend it in the middle of the lid. After blending it, I apply a black eyeliner with mascara. These few steps and my eyes look so good! This eyeshadow sits on my skin so well. Even when I sweat, it does not smudge or get dull. The shade stays true to its color throughout.
I will recommend this MAC Matte Eye Shadow to everyone because it has a range of many colors that will suit almost every skin tone. And the price is reasonable because it lasts for so long. It is an eyeshadow to keep for sure.
Value for money
Does not clog pores
Can be used as foundation or primer
Easy to remove
Provides adequate sun protection
Doesn’t give great coverage for dark blemishes or scars
Not suitable for all skin tones
Looks patchy on dry skin
Oil absorption is ineffective after several hours
I’m not comfortable with layering my face with moisturizer, sunscreen, concealer, and foundation anymore. After putting on so many things at once, it just feels too heavy. Plus, the whole process takes up so much time, especially since I’m not much of an early bird.
So, I came across Clinique City Block through a friend’s recommendation and decided to give it a try. I was, of course, a bit hesitant about the price, but I bought it anyway. And I’m glad I did because I don’t regret investing in something that functions both as makeup and a skincare product.
Before I started using this cream, my skin was not in the best condition. Naturally, my skin is very prone to acne, which is a disadvantage because I have to wear makeup daily to work. So, I was basically stuck in a vicious cycle of using makeup to hide my acne and blemishes, only to develop more because of the heavy use.
The tone of the cream (generic beige) is very similar to my foundation, so I got lucky there. And like everything else, it has its pros and cons. The first thing I noticed after using this Clinique City Block cream is that it feels so light on my skin. The product description claimed that it is a lightweight formula which helps to wick away perspiration and absorb excess oil. Well, it does almost all of that for me. It just doesn’t really absorb that much of oil. Instead, it gives me a glossy, glassy look, which is a bonus.
Will the colors be the same as shown on the purchase sites?
(Question for MAC Eyeshadow )
The colors may be slightly darker or lighter than the colors shown online. The sites may use filters on the photos that change the color of the eyeshadow displayed.
