Easy to blend
One of my favorite bloggers did a tutorial on how to pull off a “no makeup” makeup look with just three products, the key being the concealer. I never owned a concealer before, and she suggested I try the L'Oreal Paris True Match Concealer. I got the shade Medium/Deep Neutral to match my skin tone.
I followed the procedure she explained in the video to create this look. I moisturized my face, and then used the concealer on the under eye dark circles, around the lips and nose, and on the dark spots. I blended it using my fingers, and it blended like a dream! It vanished, and along with it disappeared all the imperfections. It didn’t feel heavy. Actually, it didn’t feel like anything. And then I baked with a loose powder and was done.
The entire day, I did not feel the need for a touch-up. It was super amazing. Good job L’Oreal.
Nice shade range
Doubles up as a lip balm
Color fades after eating
I bought the Pink Affair shade of the Lotus Make-up Pure Colors Matte Lip Color. It is the second lipstick in my collection, as I am just getting started with wearing lip colors. I bought this product because it falls in my budget and they have a wide shade range.
I like how this lipstick is not truly matte, it has a little satin finish to it. And it keeps my lips moisturized the entire day. It lasts on my lips for about 3 to 4 hours and leaves a pink tint when it starts disappearing. The color compliments my skin tone and goes well with most of my attires. I am happy with the product and might buy another one soon.
Makes lips look healthy
Conceals fine lines on the lips
NYX Professional Makeup Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick is my latest obsession for this month. I got the shade Tea & Cookies, which is a muted tea rose pink. I love the formula; it is not entirely matte, so it does not dry out my lips. Instead, it offers a satin-like finish, which makes my lips look healthy, and there are no signs of fine lines. If this lipstick were transfer-proof, it would have been the BEST of all time, but still definitely my new favorite !!
Makes the skin soft and supple
Improves skin’s texture
Improves blood circulation
Makes the skin firm
Ideal for sensitive skin
Takes time to show results
Biotique Wheat Germ Youthful Nourishing Night Cream has a very smooth and thick texture. And it takes time to get absorbed. So, it requires a little bit more massage as compared to other moisturizing creams. In a way, it is good because it makes me massage my face more than usual. The benefit I get from it is good blood circulation and firm skin.
When I started using this night cream, I didn’t see any results. But after some weeks, I could feel my skin getting softer and the texture improving. I have sensitive skin but this night cream did not cause me any breakouts or rashes. Sometimes out of the blue, I get redness on my cheeks and neck. Even that is taken care of by this night cream.
Biotique Wheat Germ Youthful Nourishing Night Cream is one of my best buys and thankfully, it works.
Does not cause breakouts
Makes skin soft and supple
Deeply hydrates skin
Does not reduce dark spots
Does not brighten skin tone
Impractical cylindrical packaging
Ever since I learned the importance of a night cream, I have been continuously applying it, switching from one brand to another. VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream is the one I recently grabbed from the drugstore.
It comes in a long plastic tub with a screw cap. The cap shuts tightly, making it travel-friendly. But I know it will be difficult to scoop out the cream when it is about to get over. The cream has a pleasant floral scent that I like. It is mild and does not irritate my nostrils. The consistency is in between cream and gel.
I have combination and acne prone skin, but this cream did not make my skin oily or greasy. It gets absorbed instantly, and only a little quantity is required to cover my entire face and neck. I was a bit worried that it’ll cause more pimples, but thankfully, it did not break me out.
I have been using it for three weeks now, and I really like the way my skin wakes up in the morning - soft and supple. I feel it hydrating my skin deeply, but that’s where my love ends for VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Night Cream. Till now, it has not shown any effect on my dark spots and lightening my complexion.
So, I will recommend this night cream from VLCC only to those who want hydration and nourishment. If you want a skin brightening and lightening dark spots night cream, I’d recommend you skip it.
I like Lakme Rose Powder because it makes my makeup stay longer by at least 4 hours or so. I always have it in my bag because I prefer this over compact powders for a quick fix when I go out. The only thing I dislike about it is the packaging. The cap of the powder is tight, but I have a bit of a problem with the design on the inside. The five small circular holes in the transparent divide between the powder and the puff are inconvenient. When I carry it around in my bag, the tub obviously topples and doesn’t always stay upright. So when I open it again the next time, lots of powder from the base of the container comes through to the surface. It taints the whole puff, so it’s unusable, and that’s why I use a separate powder brush.
A little product goes a long way
Not suitable for dry skin
Does not lather much
Considering Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser is for all skin types, I went for it. I am almost halfway through the bottle, and I will say that my dry skin really likes it. I do have to admit that right after washing it, my skin feels dry. I cope with that by applying a moisturizer.
Over the period of use, I feel my skin has become softer and the dry blackheads I had on my forehead have subsided. I am really satisfied with this facial cleanser. Finally, a product that works!
Does not make skin stretchy
My dry skin adores this lotion because instead of making my skin stretchy like most other sunscreens, it adds a mild sheen to my skin. It keeps my face moisturized throughout the day and protected from the harmful sun rays. It has been over a month and so far, so good. A big thumbs up for Lakme Sun Expert SPF 24 PA++ UV Lotion!
Glides on easily
Does not feel stretchy
Does not dry out the skin
The runny lotion-like texture is what I like as it doesn't dry me out at all. It does not make me feel stretchy either. During winters, though, I think I’ll need another moisturizer because its nourishment won’t be enough for my super dry skin. But for summer season, it is the best! Also, it is quite expensive for the quantity it comes in.
Range of shades might confuse people
It was very hard for me to find the correct shade for my skin tone. I didn’t know, so I ended up buying a lighter shade. I couldn’t even exchange it. So it was a complete waste of money.
It didn’t make sense for me to keep it, so I gave it to my cousin sister who is fairer than me. I asked her how she felt about the powder foundation after a month and she said she loved it. She said she carries it everywhere and uses it to remove the shine on her forehead, nose, and chin. It looks natural, and the sponge does a good job.
I guess I will purchase it again and try it out myself. But this time I’ll go for the right shade.
Makes hair soft
Strengthens the hair
Refines hair texture
Gives glossy look
True to it claims
I bought this shampoo after hearing good reviews from beauty bloggers who swear by this product. When I tried it on myself five months back, I found that all that hype is true. This shampoo did a wonderful job in controlling my long, frizzy 2C hair.
After shampooing, my hair looks glossy, it feels soft, and it helps me manage my tangles. The smell can get a little too overwhelming, though. But, I always turn back to it every time my hair starts to frizz or show signs of dryness. Paring it with Mythic Oil Conditioner gives double benefits. My hair feels gorgeous throughout the day.
Cleanses hair effectively
Requires extra effort to use
The consistency of this shampoo is the thickest out of all the other shampoos I have used so far. For that, I have to dilute it first and then apply. I don’t like the extra work. And because of the thick consistency, it takes time to make the shampoo come out of the bottle. So, what I do is, I keep it upside down. After I am done with this shampoo bottle, I don’t think I am going to use it again.
Skin looks plump and dewy
Might be too light for blemished skin
I used Giorgio Armani Luminous Foundation in my early days, which served me right then but with age, I realized that it was starting to accentuate my fine lines. So I turned to this tinted moisturizer from Bobbi Brown, thinking it will give me natural and hydrated skin. Now it has been a year, and I love it so much I use it all the time. It may appear too light a coverage for some, but for my aging skin, it is perfect. Using this product from Bobbi Brown, my skin is plumper and looks dewy all day.
A little goes a long way
Miosturizes skin well
Not suitable for dry skin
Since I have acne-prone and sensitive skin, this is my holy grail moisturizer. The best part is its gel texture and it does not cause breakouts. After eight months of use, I will say that it is a safe choice that hydrates oily skin without making it greasy. It is totally worth it because just a tiny amount covers my face and neck.
It wouldn’t be sufficient for dry skin. I think Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ will suit them better. My cousin uses it, and I heard good things about it.
Refreshes the skin
No visible effects
I am using this face wash for a while now, say maybe a month. I will state that it hasn’t shown any visible effects yet. It’s a decent face wash, but I’m not sure about its effective claims. What I do know is I’m enjoying the foam-based face wash. It feels so tender to use, and I like the feel of using a high-end product. Definitely, a thumbs up for it.
Easy To use
Makes your skin glow
Improves skin’s health
Nourishes your skin
Softens your skin
Delhi gets really cold during the winter season and very hot during the summer. So for this winter season, I am trying out this cream and also the serum from Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Radiance range. So far it has been over a month, and this combination of serum and cream is proving very beneficial for my skin.
I don’t step out without it. I use the cream during the day and the serum for my night regime. The cream nourishes my skin very well, and it also gives mild coverage. It must be because of the SPF in it. The serum has improved my skin’s health, and I feel like my skin looks and feels better. So far so good. It is a bit costly though.
Ideal for oily and acne-prone skin
Just a small amount required per use
I absolutely adore this product from L’Oreal. Who doesn’t know L’Oreal, right? So I started using this gel-based moisturizer from eight to nine months back and haven’t looked back since.
Yes, it is a bit pricey compared to other moisturizers in the market, but this gel-based moisturizer requires just a small amount to cover all of my face. So that makes it last for a long time. I do wish it came in a more hygienic container but the way it works on me, I can let that pass.
Its texture is light on my skin, and I have not had any breakouts since my journey started with L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel. I adore it. I will always be recommending this moisturizer for oily and acne-prone skin.
Makes your skin feels fresh
Not very moisturizing
Needs to be touched up frequently
I have super sensitive skin, so while looking for an alcohol-free toner for the summers, I ended up purchasing Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray Thirsty Skin Relief. I used up the whole bottle, and it did a decent job of keeping my skin hydrated and fresh. But I felt that only while it was fresh on my skin. After it gets absorbed, I feel the need to spray it again and again. The hydration and moisturization are not enough. I don’t think I will repurchase.
Not for oily skin
Makes the skin greasy
I bought NIVEA Creme to use as a winter cream, but it didn’t turn out quite the way I wanted it to. The first day I used it, I washed it off after an hour or so. It made my skin very sticky and greasy. It is not at all suitable for oily skin, not even during winters. And I am quite doubtful if it will suit combination skin.
I am aware of the goodness and multipurpose uses of this cream, so I use it on my elbows and heels. This has been fruitful. My elbows and heels feel soft and tender. That way, it is a decent cream.
Makes skin oily
Not suitable for oily skin
I bought it because it said on the bottle that it is suitable for all skin types. But it turned out to be such a disappointment. I have oily skin, and this moisturiser felta bit too heavy on me. At first, it glided on my skin very well. But after an hour or so, my skin became so oily that I had to wash it off. I can’t even imagine how it will feel during summers. So oily skin people can skip it. It works better on dry and combination skin.
Controls hair fall
Does not dry out your scalp
Makes hair bouncy
Does not control frizz
There is a saying that goes something like “Your hair growth depends on the hands that gave you a haircut. If it suits you, your hair will grow quickly. But if not, it’ll take ages.” Well, I think this was the case for me. My hair just stopped growing, and I was frustrated by it. I tried many different things to make it grow - from home remedies to oiling. But honestly, the zeal didn’t last long as I’m a working woman and it’s hard to give much time to hair care.
So when I saw this shampoo, I thought “Why not?” It has been more than two months, and I’m almost done with the bottle. And I will happily state that I am so happy with this shampoo. It actually helped my hair grow a few inches. Of course, it is not a magic potion to grow my hair overnight, but yeah, I do see a slight difference. I also had a haircut in between, so I think that is helping as well.
My hair feels much more lively, smooth, and silky. Sunsilk has really done a good job with this shampoo. I have tried other shampoos from Sunsilk as well, but this one is by far the best. It comes in a green bottle with a flip-open lid. It has a floral smell that is pleasant and appealing. The shampoo forms a good lather that cleanses oil and dirt easily.
The best part of it all is that it comes at such a good price that anyone can purchase it and get the results of a high-end product.
Imparts shine to hair
No harmful chemicals
Softens the hair
Not for oily scalp
It was like music to my ears when my beautician recommended me this shampoo. I was always worried regarding the presence of paraben, silicone, and SLS in the products I use but couldn’t do anything about it because I thought it wouldn’t be possible for any products not to have it. So, to finally have a product that is paraben and sulfate-free is surreal.
This shampoo is transparent and runny. Though it is a sulfate-free product, it lathers well and can easily be washed off. Just a small amount is enough to form a good lather, which explains why it is costly. So, I don’t mind the price at all.
I use it two to three times a week and every time I use it, my hair feels super clean. It gives my dry hair moisture for 2-3 days, smells so fresh, and also adds volume to my flat straight hair. If you haven’t oiled your hair, I will suggest you use it just once ‘cause it does the trick. I haven’t tried the mask yet, but this shampoo itself seems to be enough for me.
I cannot seem to stop running my fingers through my hair. Hands down, this shampoo is the best I have ever used.
Contains natural ingredients
Makes hair frizzy
Does not form a good lather
Dries the scalp
Not suitable for dry hair type
Need to reapply
I was expecting this product to do magic on my hair. But it didn’t work like I expected it to. I had a hunch from the first use itself. I didn’t mind the smell as it is an organic shampoo, but the texture of it is what turned me off. I had to use it twice to feel its presence on my scalp and hair.
Also, it made my scalp very dry.
I don’t understand why this shampoo didn’t work on me when it has positive results on so many people.
Cleanses the scalp well
Nourishes the hair
After reading many positive reviews about this shampoo, I thought I would give it a try as well. Its fragrance is alluring. The rest, well, I would say average. I say average maybe because I was expecting a lot from it.
My hair is oily on the scalp and dry on the tips. I thought maybe this shampoo would be the ultimate solution. But truth be told, it is just like any other shampoo. I see no difference. Although, I would say that this shampoo cleanses my scalp pretty thoroughly and the smell lingers, making me feel fresh throughout the day. Also, my combination hair didn’t react differently, so it’s good to go.
Makes your skin glow
The cream did give a glow to my skin but didn’t do anything for my skin issues. I still have dark spots and marks on my face. The cream is thick. I started using it but before any change could occur, it got over. Too little cream in a bottle.
Controls excess oil
The cap on the bottle can be a trouble if you have got a manicure.
Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash is my go-to remedy. I have a bottle of it in my washroom, my handbag and also my travel bag. One of the many things I like about this face wash is, it comes in different sizes. It forms just the right amount of lather that makes it easier for me to remove all my makeup and excess oil. And after every wash, I feel my skin is instantly rejuvenated. I have not seen any a pimple on my skin for a long time, and I will give half the credit entirely to Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash for sustaining that. And whenever my friends ask me about how my skin looks so fresh, I always recommend them to use Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash.
Does not remove makeup
The product looks very professional, and the formula is pleasing. When I first started using this face wash, I was so attracted by the smell of it. I can’t quite point out what it smells like, but it sure does add one point to this face wash. The formula is such that it does not form so much lather. But the face wash does not leave any point to clean any greasiness or dirt. One minus point is that O3+ Brightening & Whitening Face Wash does not remove makeup, so you have to wash off the makeup first before using this face wash.
Best for dry skin
I think I use my Aroma Magic Castor Oil more than what it is worth. It feels like this oil can treat all my beauty problems, so I have been a very dedicated customer of this castor oil. I use it in my DIY face packs and hair masks. I have pretty thick eyebrows and eyelashes, so using it for that purpose isn’t required. But rumor has it that it works wonders. Whenever I experience cracked heels, Aroma Magic Castor Oil is the first thing I go to. The texture is very thick, just exactly what my super dry heels need. And also during winters, when I have chapped lips, I take a tiny amount and apply it on my lips. For my dry skin, I use Aroma Magic Castor Oil as my night cream. My entire beauty regimen includes Aroma Magic Castor Oil. My hair feels healthy, and my skin is in its best state (touchwood).
Smoothens the skin
Does not cause perspiration
Light on the skin
A little matte for dry skin
My skin is dry, so I think the problem is not so much with this cream but what my skin type is. Regardless, I still use Jovees Sandalwood Suncover for its claims that are genuine and effective. In my family, everyone uses this sunscreen. Since my skin is dry, I have to apply a moisturizer over it. I still use this sunscreen because it is pocket-friendly and does everything that the high-end expensive sunscreen does, maybe even more. More importantly, it is herbal and ayurvedic, so the effects are not just for the time being. It works on your skin from within.
Lghtens skin tone
Does not reduce under-eye puffiness
The cream gives a soothing feeling. You can find the instructions for use along with a list of ingredients on the cardboard box that it comes in. The cream comes in 80gms. The cream is also light skin color and it’s texture is light and easily blended. It doesn’t leave an ashy sheen on your face. Feels nice when you apply it. The drawback is the smell, it’s soapy. It reduces dark spots and dark circles. It doesn’t do anything for the puffiness under the eyes. I have become two tones fairer after using for four and a half weeks. It also made my skin glow.
Leaves behind an artificial sheen
I have a case of mild breakouts. My face is always covered in pimples or slight boils ever since I hit puberty. It was bad. A teenage girl, with pimples? The worst nightmare! My dermatologist informed me about this cream. I love it! I really helped me. It reduced the blackheads on my nose. I no longer have pimples or boils on my face. My face is so clear and nice. My skin has become so firm and soft, just like in those adverts. This is incredible! Absolutely love it.
Does MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel treat acne and pimples?
(Question for MAC Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel )
M.A.C Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel is non-acnegenic, which means it is very unlikely to cause any acne or pimples. It also does not clog your pores. However, it does not treat existing pimples.
Are touch-ups required? If yes, then how often?
(Question for Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lip Color )
The lipsticks aren’t 100% transfer-proof. So if you eat or drink, you’ll need a touch-up. Without any disturbance, the lipstick lasts for 4 hours.
How does the oil work?
(Question for Patanjali Kesh Kanti Amla Hair Oil )
When massaged onto the scalp, the oil penetrates your scalp to nourish your hair roots. This strengthens your roots and hair strands. This oil has many nutrients and antioxidants that nourish the hair. Leaving it on overnight deep conditions your hair and moisturizes your roots. It also keeps your hair hydrated. The oil is thick in consistency but can be applied easily. It gives a greasy feeling in the beginning, but that wears off over time.
