Shampoo leaves hair a little dry
I used to have really thick and luscious hair. But due to extensive traveling and exposure to pollution, things began to change. I started facing hair fall and my hair became really dry and frizzy. Being a woman, it’s really scary to see handfuls of hair come off your scalp. It really started to worry me.
So, in order to avoid this and to save my hair, I started trying out the best anti-hair fall products available in the market with “exotic” ingredients and even tried some home remedies. But I was surprised when the majority of them gave no results or even if they did, they weren’t long lasting. It made me really hopeless and frustrated at the same time.
It was during this time that I found Vedix while scrolling through facebook. The thing that attracted me towards it was the fact that it was “customized”. It was something new and that really interested me. I went to their site to know more about it. When I was researching I understood that they make products just for my specific hair concerns. I read the reviews and quite a lot of them were positive. It gave a little hope and I thought of giving it a go.
To get started with the process, I took their detailed Dosha Assessment Questionnaire. It was a lengthy questionnaire where they asked me questions not only about my hair but about my body too. These body questions help them create an accurate analysis and suggest the ideal products. The extensive questionnaire just built more trust in me towards the product as it conveyed to me that they took the customization process very seriously.
After completing the questionnaire, I was directed towards the detailed analysis page. The analysis showed me what my disturbed doshas were and why I was facing my hair fall. And according to this analysis, they recommended to me 3 ideal hair care products. They specified the ingredients present in them, their functions and benefits as well as the usage instructions. It was everything that I needed. I must say I was really impressed.
I then went ahead and selected the one month trial pack because after seeing all the products fail, I wasn’t ready to take any more chances and waste my money. I received the products within 3 days of ordering and they were beautifully packaged. I used them religiously as instructed for about 3 weeks and started seeing positive results.
My hair fall started reducing and I could see a natural shine in my hair too. It was an absolute delight to see something finally work on my hair. I am currently using Vedix for the 3rd month now and I don’t think I am going to stop using it anytime soon! I strongly recommend you try these products and you won’t be disappointed.
Cleanses the scalp well
Makes the hair manageable
Not a permanent solution for dandruff
This Patanjali shampoo comes in a white bottle with a purple open-flip cap. The light green consistency of this shampoo is very thick, so just a small amount is required to cover up my scalp and hair. It comes at a very good price and is easily available. The packaging is not sturdy, and it’s kind of bulky, so to take it while traveling is not convenient. It comes in just one size.
I’m not very fond of the herbal smell as I want my hair to smell nice after washing. Apart from that, it does the work of a shampoo very well.
My hair feels clean, and this shampoo manages to control my frizziness very well. The texture is much more manageable than it ever was. Now coming to its claim of being an anti-dandruff cleanser, well, I see no difference. On the day I wash my hair, my dandruff goes away, but on the second day, it comes back again.
This shampoo is good for cleansing. But to cure dandruff, it does nothing. So, Patanjali Kesh Kanti Anti-Dandruff Hair Cleanser is not a permanent solution for dandruff.
Easy to blend
Might not suit every skin tone
I read so many mixed reviews about this shade Satin Taupe that it made me skeptical if it was going to suit me. I loved the shade so much that I didn’t mind buying it, even if it was going to be a waste on me. I love MAC eyeshadows. Everything about them is so perfect, and that is one thing that made me believe that this shade might actually work for me.
So, I bought it. And it did suit me. But it took me a little while to figure out how to actually make it look good on me, instead of making me look black-eyed. The first time I used this shade, I put it all over till the crease (I was trying to pull off a smokey eye) and I terribly failed. I thought it’s not going to suit me. But, I didn’t wanna give up, and I gave it another try.
This time, I did it differently. Instead of putting it everywhere, I blended it with a little beige shade and topped with eyeliner. Guess what? This look was no less than a show stopper. On my eyelid, this color looks more brown and less purple. It’s beautiful!
This satin shade is so amazing - the perfect balance of matte and shimmer and it doesn’t over or under power your look. It’s just perfect. If you also plan on buying this shade, give it a try first and then buy it. You don’t wanna take chances as I did. And do try other shades in MAC’s Satin Eyeshadow range.
No shade to highlight brows
I have always loved Lakme products. It feels like they take special care while designing their products, so they all suit Indian women and weather very well. As soon as Lakme 9 To 5 Eye Quartet Eyeshadow palette was released, I bought one, and I have been using it since then. I got the shade Desert Rose.
I didn’t have these shades in any of my other palettes, and that’s one reason I chose this combination. It is a tiny plastic packaging that has 4 shades in it and one applicator. There is no mirror, which should have been there. It comes with this tiny sponge applicator, which, honestly, is of no use. You cannot blend the product with this applicator.
Talking about the shades, the consistency is very smooth and silky. They are of powdery texture but feels almost like cream when touched. I always use them with a primer. Otherwise, they tend to fall out, and the lasting power is also not great without primer. The pigmentation is good, and this is my everyday go-to palette for work.
Does not dry out your lips
Wide shade range
Lasts for 4 to 5 hours
I ran out of the only color of lipstick I always used and rushed to a mall to get one more. The salesgirl suggested I try some of the shades from the MAC Matte Lipsticks collection, and I thought to myself, “What if I do find something I like?” and I gave it a shot. Guess what, now I have four favorite shades, all of which I can wear anytime, anywhere.
Yes, these lipsticks are a little on the higher side of the budget, and no, I didn’t buy all the four shades at once. My pocket would never allow that. At that time, I only bought Mehr, which I later realized is a universally admired shade of lipstick and was proud of my choice. For the price I paid, the quantity is pretty good. But, because I use this shade almost every day, I ran out of it pretty quickly.
I love the formulation of these lipsticks. They don’t end up looking like how matte liquid lipsticks look when they are dry, but even then, there is no shine or luster on the lips. It is a proper matte. The best part is that as long as the lipstick is on (for about 4 to 5 hours), my lips do not get dry. It keeps them soft, moisturized, and plump.
Overall, I love Mac Matte Lipsticks. Except for the price they come at, everything about them is so amazing.
Does not irritate the eyes
Smooth and soft texture
Does not stick on its own
Not enough pigmentation
Easily spreads on the face
I had to use NYX Professional Makeup Pigments after seeing so many bloggers pulling it off. They look stunning with these pigments. When I got it, I was so happy with its price. Because with the way it works, I thought the price will be very high. I got the shades Diamond, Crazed, Old Hollywood, Vegas Baby.
NYX Professional Makeup Pigments comes in a plastic tub that is cylindrical with a black screw lid. The quantity is very generous, but I am not very impressed with the packaging. While I use it, I always waste. I wish that can be changed.
The texture of the eyeshadow pigment is very soft and smooth. But it needs several layers to truly pop out. For me, I had to layer 3-4 times to get the right amount, even then, I wanted to put some more. I apply this pigment after my base makeup with a flat brush.
I really like the looks I have created with these pigments so far and it sure does give a different beauty to my final look. But only with a lot of effort. I have to use a glitter primer to let the pigment stick properly on my crease, otherwise it is just patchy and separated.
My take on this NYX Professional Makeup Pigments is neutral. It looks really good on pictures, but in real life, it falls out without a primer. And while removing it, it spreads around my face. So by the end of the day, my face is full of sparkles. I still haven’t figured out how to clean it the right way without ending up looking like a disco ball.
Easy to apply
Does not cake or melt
Conceals dark circles
I have been using concealers ever since I understood the language of makeup, so I have quite a journey with them. For me, concealer is a must because I have very prominent dark circles. Just a month back, I purchased MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and ever since then, I have been using it.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer comes in a small glass tube with a pump dispenser. It is hygienic, but I really don’t like how it functions. The pump does not work properly. It dispenses more amount than required, and since it is expensive and comes in a small tube, it is a heavy loss.
The concealer has a creamy consistency, which makes it easy to apply under my eyes. It sets off quickly, so the blending needs to be fast. I use it almost every day along with my foundation which is a shade darker than NC25.
What I love the most about MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is how long wearing it is. Despite my skin being oily, it does not cake or melt for at least about 12 hours. And also, it is very easy to blend with my foundation.
Coverage wise, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer covers almost all my dark circles without giving me any gray patchiness. And also, it is buildable. I don’t really have many flaws on my face other than my dark circles, so MAC Pro Longwear Concealer gets a big thumbs up from me.
I will be recommending it for its quality and performance. The coverage this concealer gives lasts all day without creasing even on oily skin. So go for it!
Easy to apply
Value for money
Doesn’t cause breakouts
Smooth and natural finish
Can be blended well only with sponges
I was looking for a foundation that wouldn’t cost me much but still gives me high-level results.
L'oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Foundation surpasses other drugstore foundations for me. I absolutely love it! I’ve been using the N4 Beige shade for three months now. The product description promises that it has an ‘ultra gliding creamy texture,’ which is true.
It really suits my skin tone, and the finish is amazing. It has a very subtle golden shimmer, so it gives me a neat, dewy look. It is easy to apply and blend. And the coverage lasts long.
I love the hygienic packaging - it has a pump and a transparent cap which makes it travel-friendly. I do have to be careful considering it is a glass bottle. But that’s barely a concern. I’ve been using it daily since I bought it. I don’t really have many complaints about it. So I will say, it is worth a try.
Cleanses skin well
Does not strip off moisture
Promotes healthy skin
This face wash is one of the best I have purchased so far. I have sensitive skin, so this creamy face wash works very well on me. After two weeks of use, I went ahead and brought the Aqua Boost cream to compliment this facial wash. Now it has been a month, and these two combined is the best! My skin is baby soft and well nourished. My winter is going so smoothly with these two products. I have noticed my skin getting healthier and more glowy. All thanks to The Body Shop!
Good for sensitive skin
Reapplication is required during the summer season
My views on sunscreen changed after I started using Lakme Sun Expert SPF 24 PA++ UV Lotion. I say this because my skin is very sensitive and needs extra attention. And all the sunscreens I used before were either too greasy or left a white cast. Some even gave me rashes.
Considering that, with apprehension, I got this sunscreen lotion from Lakme. The bottle looks like a mini body lotion, and even the consistency is runny like a body lotion. So, this sunscreen can be used both as a face cream and as a body lotion. I personally prefer it on my face because the quantity is too less to be used both on my face and body.
Since it is flowy, I was quite worried that it would make my face sticky and greasy. However, that did not happen. It kept my skin matte without making it stretchy the whole day. As soon as I blend it, the lotion gets absorbed and gives a mild radiance, which is the best thing for my dry skin.
It’s 8 months now and this sunscreen has become my all-time moisturizer. Like I said earlier, I have sensitive skin which tends to react quickly. But till date, I have not faced any problems with this product.
Will I suggest Lakme Sun Expert SPF 24 PA++ UV Lotion to others? Hell yeah! This lotion is a light formula which is non-sticky, gets absorbed very fast without any hassle, and it is one of the best for the winter season. It works well during the summer season too, but reapplication is needed. But during the winter season, it is more effective. Give it a go!
Does not clog pores
Controls oil secretion
Does not wear off
Not for dry skin
Isn’t it annoying to see your face bare after sweating, even after you have applied tons of sunscreen? If you are looking for a possible solution to this problem, Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen Matte Gel PA+++ SPF 50 is what you are looking for. At least for me, this sunscreen turned out to be successful. However, it might not work the same for all.
My skin is very oily, so much that after a few minutes of wash, it gets back to its oily state. So that’s why I try my best to stay away from cream-based moisturizers. For oily skin, gel-based formulas are the best!
Ever since I got Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen Matte Gel PA+++ SPF 50, I use it twice a day daily. The gel glides on my skin smoothly and gets absorbed quickly. The packaging of this sunscreen is also very well designed. It is convenient and travel-friendly.
This sunscreen keeps my oiliness away for about four to five hours, which is superb! Like I mentioned earlier, even when I sweat, the layer of protection does not fade off. I think this explains its price. It is a keeper for sure!
Imparts a dewy finish
Limited shades available
I like the concept of a cushion liquid foundation. It just puts the touch-up game to the next level. I can get a foundation touch-up with a compact-like way. The container itself looks like a compact.
Now coming to this product, I don’t think it is of the best quality. I have used better ones. I have very light skin with cool undertones, so I chose Ivory. Even if it is the lightest shade available, it made me look yellow. So, I will not be using it again. I did like the dewy effect, and the cushion makes the whole application very easy. Overall, it should be an Ok foundation, but just not right for me. I wish Maybelline comes up with lighter shades.
Imparts shine to hair
Makes hair soft
Makes hair healthy
I love this product from Himalaya. I have been using this for almost two years now, and it hasn’t disappointed me in any way. It really works for me. My hairs feel so light and soft. The texture of my hair seems to have improved, and it looks very healthy.
My oily hair is well cleaned, and it stays like that for two days. This shampoo has helped my hair to look good and healthy. No wonder Himalaya products are getting recognized internationally!
Makes hair more manageable
Revives dull hair
My hair is not chemically treated, but I am using this product since last year. I have extremely frizzy hair, so much so that I never look fresh. But the L'Oreal Professionnel XTenso Care Pro Shampoo has changed my life.
I use it thrice a week because I have dry hair. After every wash, my hair feels light, beautiful and frizz free. I will suggest this shampoo to anyone suffering from dull hair. It is the best.
Not effective on dark spots
If you think about night cream, what do you usually expect?
If you ask me the same question, my answer will be hydration, nourishment, rejuvenation, healing damaged skin, tightening pores, and healthy happy skin.
Lotus Herbals WhiteGlow Skin Whitening & Brightening Nourishing Night Crème is my first night cream. I didn’t require to use it before because my skin was doing fine. But after my reckless “no-care” attitude, I got myself into trouble. For months and months, my skin has been feeling dull, dehydrated and I’m getting so many small zits on my forehead.
I started using this night cream for three weeks and here is my experience so far.
Every night before I go off to sleep, my night regimen is to wash my face thoroughly and apply this cream with a minute massage. Then I’m off to sleep.
I have been following this routine sincerely, and being constant is the key to results. This night cream is light in texture, non-greasy and gets absorbed very quickly. After I started using this cream, I always wake up with a radiant glow. My skin does not feel dull anymore, and the skin texture has improved to a certain level.
It comes in a silver glass jar and a screw gray lid and an inner flat white cover to protect the cream from spillage. The packaging looks good, but I am not in favor of it as I prefer a tube dispenser instead. It is a mild issue as I always wash my hands first before use.
It gives very nice nourishment, but that’s about it. No results in reducing spots or zits. Its claims on brightening and whitening are false. I see no change. So now, if you ask me if I like this night cream, my answer will be - not really. I don’t hate it, but it is not something I will use again.
Not illuminating enough
The effect disappears when mixed with foundation
I had such high expectation with this moisturizer after reading so many good reviews about it. But what I got was utterly disappointing, considering the money I paid for it. The illumination it gives me is very subtle, but when I mix it with my foundation it is almost non-existent. Yes, it is very hydrating for my combination skin, but I wish there was more illumination in the product. I will not be buying this product again.
Moisturizes your skin
Gets absorbed quickly
A little product goes a long way
Makes makeup last longer
Does not dry out your skin
As I recall, i first found the mini pack of this lotion. Though it is called a “mini” pack, I used it for so long. So I got the bigger bottle, almost seven to eight month back. Below is my honest review:
This lotion comes in a very fancy pearly bottle with a black cap dispenser. At first, I was very fascinated with the idea of turning the dispenser sideways to access the lotion, but after a while, I got over it. I say this because the dispenser does not have a cover, so the lotion clogs the tip. And on the next application, the dried lotion also gets dispensed. That makes it unhygienic. But travel-wise, I will say it is friendly.
Now with its efficacy, it is clear how much I like it, otherwise why would I use it for so long. Let me give you my insight.
The texture is water-based which makes it runny and lightweight. The lotion is very easy to apply. The best part is it gets absorbed very quickly. So I don’t have to waste my time waiting for it to set. After application, it gives my combination skin a sheen without making it oily. Seems like magic, doesn’t it?
Usually, oil control lotions tend to dry out your skin. But the M.A.C Oil Control Lotion isn’t one of them. It controls the oiliness without drying ny skin or making it stretchy. Besides that, it makes for a perfect base for my foundation. There are times when I forget to wear this lotion under my makeup and I see a significant difference in the duration of my makeup.
The M.A.C Oil Control Lotion is one of the best I’ve used so far, and I see myself holding on to it for a really long time.
Makes the skin soft
A little goes a long way
Provides balanced moisturization
Infused with Vitamin E
Who doesn’t know about The Body Shop products, right? If there is any sale, I rush to the nearest store all the time. The thing that made me love TBS so much is the fruity fragrance in almost every product I have used. When I saw this Vitamin E Moisture Cream, even before knowing what it is made for, I was drawn to it by its baby pink packaging.
Once I realized what it is for, I had to get it because it was just the thing I was looking for – a deep moisturizer for the harsh winter. My skin is combination during summer and dry in winters.
So, now that “winter is here,” this moisturizer was a perfect option. It has been three weeks since I have started using it. For my first use, I didn’t know how much quantity to use. So I took quite a lot, and that made my skin very greasy. My heart almost broke. But the next day I took a little smaller quantity, and it worked so well. Since then, I just take a small amount, and that itself is enough to cover my whole face and neck.
So these three weeks have been such a lovely experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream. It makes my skin moist in the right way, does not make my skin greasy and it feels so soft. I haven’t had any breakouts as well (phew!).
And yes! The smell! I wish I can say something positive about it since I love TBS mostly because of it. But unfortunately, this particular cream does not share the same trait like the ones I love. And though the packaging is pretty, having to scoop it with my finger all the time feels unhygienic.
SPF 30 PA++
Not very moisturizing
Leaves behind a white cast
Not easy to blend
I read so many positive reviews of Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Radiance Oil-In-Creme. So for my dry patches, I got one for myself too.
I was taken aback that it needs quite some effort to blend because of the white cast it leaves behind. After blending properly, it does go away, but I still don’t like it. I should have gone for the serum instead. Drowning in my regrets now.
Effects don't last long
Reapplication is needed
Not suitable for oily skin
I didn’t find anything great about this product. I've been using this daily for a while, and I feel that the effect does not last for long. I need to reapply it.
The fact that it has SPF is a plus point, but it stays intact for just 2 hours. Other sunblocks have a greater duration than this.
Now I am looking for something to replace it. The price is alright and the product is usually accessible from your local stores, but it leaves my skin feeling heavy so I would probably not repurchase this.
Brightens the skin
When I first saw O3+ Brightening & Whitening Face Wash, considering the way the packaging looks and being manufactured in Italy, I thought it would be out of my budget. But when I saw the price, I stood there in shock. I have a fetish for international brands but mostly can’t afford them. But when I do get to purchase, I treasure it with my life. So, after getting this product, I was so hyped, and I couldn’t wait to start using this face wash. It has been a month now, and I will state that O3+ Brightening & Whitening Face Wash does wonders! My skin is benefitting all the goodness from this product. From the first use itself, my skin felt lighter, and now my skin is at its best state. It looks very tender and clean.
Enhances skin tone
Packaging gets messy sometimes
I had significant pigmentation problem after giving birth, so I was desperately looking for a solution. I tried so many home remedies in that process as well. A friend of mine recommended Fabindia Vitamin E De-Pigmentation Cream. So I thought I’ll give it a try. It’s been a month from the day I started using it, and I will say that regardless of all the ingredients I’m unaware of, except for vitamin C and E, it is doing wonders, so I have no complaints. In the first week itself, I saw the patches lightening. I can’t say much about how effective it is regarding sunblock. I don’t usually get exposed to the sun so until now, I have not really experienced any negativeness. Fabindia Vitamin E De-Pigmentation Cream has become my everyday moisturizing cream.
Cleans vaginal area
No bad odor
Recommended not to buy online
Not travel-friendly as it can leak
I ordered this product online and I was disappointed. This wash was so thinned out. It was like water. Half of it had spilled out from the container. After some time, I bought it from a store and the consistency was thick. Makes me wonder whether they’re selling fakes online. But about the product, it is great. It feels good and clean. There’s no irritation or BO. It’s good.
Gives matte finish
Makes the skin smooth and supple
Oil stays away just for an hour
Can cause pimples
Overall effect does not stay for long
Not for dry skin
After a long vacation in Goa in my early twenties, I came back with a very nasty suntan, which turned into my second skin after a while. I tried many fairness creams to get my actual skin tone back. I haven’t tried all the fairness creams available, so haven’t come to any conclusion yet. I am on a lookout for it not because I want to be fair but because I want to get my natural skin tone.
Two months ago, I bought Citra Pearl Fair Face Cream With Korean Pink Pearl. This cream comes in a tube with a pump dispenser fitted at the top, which is covered with a transparent plastic cap. The whole packaging allows for controlled use and is hygienic as well. The first look of this product is standard and elegant. And it is travel-friendly.
The texture of the off-white cream is creamy. When I spread it, it is like a softer version of Fair & Lovely cream. It blends well and gets easily absorbed into the skin. It leaves my skin dry, and it instantly lightens my skin tone by 1-2 shades, which I’m not a very big fan of. It tends to look artificial. The cream does succeed in removing oiliness, but within an hour, the oil comes back.
Citra Pearl Fair Face Cream is not for dry skin as it’ll make the skin drier. Yes, the cream does make the skin soft as it claims and it smells nice. But the pros end there for me. It might work differently for others, but it didn’t do so much for my skin. So, I am still in the search for a fairness cream I will like.
