How much ever I want to use expensive, high-end brands, the truth is, I cannot afford them. I am a broke college girl who cannot afford to look dead and ugly, so I need makeup and have to settle for drugstore products. Revlon Colorstay Makeup For Combination/Oily Skin is perfect for us girls looking for a long-lasting foundation on a budget.
It is specially formulated for people with oily/combination skin, and that’s what I love about it. Also, like other high-end brands, Revlon has also launched more than 40 shades to choose from. I found the perfect match for my skin tone, which matched my undertone as well.
It’s excellent at what it does. It’s a little thick, so blending is a challenge. If not done on time, it tends to dry out. But, once blended and dried, there is nothing else to do. It does not require a setting spray, although I always use a primer. It does control the oil production up to a limit and also doesn’t let shine get over my face. It stays matte for a good 7 to 8 hours, which I think is pretty decent for the price I am paying.
Also, for the kind of day I have, running around classes, a little bit of sports, and a little time for physical activity, this foundation surprisingly lasts through everything. It does not crease, crack, or get patchy. I think until I get super rich, I will continue using this one.
Doesn’t crack or crease
Yes, I have tried over 30 foundations and own about 9 of them, including Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation. I have this one in the shade 3.05, which is a perfect match for my medium skin tone with golden/yellow undertones. This foundation is a little pricey, but it’s definitely worth every penny spent.
Packaging: It comes in a pump bottle and is super easy to use. For medium coverage, I use about 1.5 to 2 pumps, and that’s about it.
Texture: It’s a liquid foundation which goes on super smooth and is hydrating. For my combination, acne-prone skin, this foundation is neither too dry nor too oily. It just feels right.
Coverage: People looking for full coverage, this foundation might disappoint you. But for me, I like the sheer coverage it provides and it does a decent job of covering my light acne scars and even outs my skin tone. It allows my skin’s natural glow to peek through and I love that about this foundation.
Blending: I tried using this foundation with a sponge, and I feel it absorbs a lot of the product. So I mostly use my fingers to blend it in. Blending is easy and doesn’t take a lot of time.
Lasting power and appearance: It does last forever. I apply this foundation around 8 am, and by 7 pm, my face is still looking radiant. My t-zone does get a little oily, but nothing some blotting paper can’t fix. It does not crease, crack, or settle into fine lines. It does not transfer. It just stays put.
I don’t know if I’m missing out on something else, but, trust me, there is nothing better. Everything you look for in a foundation, this one is the answer.
Great shade range
I’m in love with the Faces Ultime Pro Longwear Matte Lipstick collection! I can easily say that this line is one of my favorite lipsticks for daily wear. I first bought the shade Skin Deep 20 and I loved it so much that I went on to buy In Vogue and Oh So Brick immediately afterward.
I don’t have many complaints about this lipstick range. I love the shades, texture, and how it looks on me. The product doesn’t stray too far away from the flamboyant description - it doesn’t dry up your lips, has good coverage, and is waterproof.
The one thing that doesn’t hold true to the description is its longevity. It claims that the lipstick will stay for more than 8 hours, which isn’t the case for me. However, I don’t really expect that kind of longevity from any type of cosmetic line, especially the affordable ones.
One of the reasons why I love the Faces Ultime Pro Longwear Matte Lipstick is that it is incredibly easy to apply. I just use two to three coats, depending on how I want the shade to pop. It exceeded my expectations when it comes to coverage and hydration. I would absolutely recommend it to others, and maybe even buy when I’m done with my current tubes.
Smooth, matte finish
Does not last for 8 hours
Winter was almost approaching, and I needed a quick change from my summer shampoo. Yes, you heard me right; I have seasonal shampoos. During summer, I like shampoos with a cooling sensation. Whereas, for winter I like those with deep nourishment because my scalp tends to get dry and starts to form dandruff.
For this winter, I thought I’ll give Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Shampoo a try. So, it has been almost one and a half month, and I love it! Starting with the way it looks. The texture seems like milk which doubles my liking. The consistency is a bit runny which I’m not very keen of because sometimes I tend to spill it.
The effect it has on my hair is pleasing. Because it is rich in moisture, my scalp feels nourished thought out the day. The occurrence of dandruff has also been prevented - all thanks to Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Shampoo!
I use this shampoo after every two days, and once in a while, I oil my hair with warm coconut oil. I’m telling you, that’s the best thing for your dry hair. It relieves the tension from the scalp as well. During my oiling days, I need to use the shampoo twice to remove all the oil. Otherwise, it does not clean it thoroughly though it forms a good lather.
One negative point of this shampoo is that it does not do anything for my frizz. I wish it did. It would have been my all time favorite. But even so, Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Shampoo is a very good shampoo for the winter season.
