Improves skin texture
Long shelf life
Does not cause breakouts
Moisturizes the skin
Value for money
Reduces dry patches
Not ideal for dry skin
Not effective on pigmentation
When you sleep, your skin repairs itself. This is also the time when it is most receptive to products. That's why I believe night creams can help by moisturizing and nourishing the skin. I purchased Himalaya Herbals Revitalizing Night Cream and have been using it for about one month now.
My skin changes with the season, and during winter, it gets the most stubborn. I was hoping for a good hydrating product for my skin when I bought this night cream, and I’m glad to say that it did not disappoint me.
It’s pretty simple. After my usual bedtime routine – removing my makeup with makeup remover, then washing my face with a facial cleanser – I apply this cream evenly on my face. It does not sit heavily on my skin. Instead, it feels light and soft, and my skin feels refreshed the next morning.
I have seen the changes in my skin because of this product. I have started to lose the flaky patches on my skin, but not all of it. My skin is much more radiant, and the texture is softer.
However, I do have to say that, I have not seen any reduction in my pigmentation. Maybe it requires more time. I have no problem still because I have not experienced any breakouts. So all is good!
It doesn’t matter what your age is. I’d recommend this product if you want to hydrate your skin.
Easy to apply
Gives a matte finish
Provides adequate coverage
Gives a satin finish
Needs waterproof cleanser to remove
It is such a joy when you find “THE ONE,” isn’t it? Be it a life partner or simply just a cosmetic.
M.A.C Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation gave me such feeling. The ultimate one. The holy grail!
Hands down, one of the best foundations I have ever used. It gives me the exact kind of matte finish I’ve been looking for. The foundation is very creamy, and it works best with a beauty blender, in my opinion.
As the product description claims to be, it is definitely waterproof. I have a normal skin type, neither too oily nor too dry. Since I don’t really require high coverage, I apply only a few drops per usage. So, it makes up for the fact that this foundation is only 25 ml, rather than the usual 30ml.
Compared to other high-end beauty products, this foundation is actually very good, considering its price. The plastic tube is awesome – it is easy to squeeze and is not messy either.
It does not oxidize for a long time and keeps my skin fresh for a long time too. Even when I swim, my skin stays flawless. Amazing, right?
I think everyone should use this foundation once and see if it works. I would recommend this to anyone who has a similar skin type.
Softens the hair
Nourishes the dry strands
Makes hair shine
Can easily be washed off
Contains many other chemicals
When I first came across L'Oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Advanced Repairing Shampoo, I was very impressed by its presentation and the claims. Last month, finally, I started using it, and the results are quite interesting.
The packaging is a job well done. The texture is white and creamy. The smell is divine! As soon as I opened the lid, my entire bathroom smelled like an expensive bathroom! It forms a good lather and rinses easily. The best part is, the lather can easily be washed off.
Since I have oily scalp and dry ends, this shampoo works well for my hair. It starts by making my scalp squeaky clean, and it stays clean for a long time. It provides nourishment to the dry stands, and they are much more manageable than before.
After every wash, my hair shines more than before and is much softer. I haven’t seen any changes in my split ends.
I found this shampoo too good to be true, so I did some research on the ingredients, and my conclusion is it has a lot of chemicals. I am not sure if I will make this shampoo my go-to shampoo because I’m scared the chemicals might react on my damaged hair. But for now, I will continue using it until the bottle finishes.
Refreshes the skin
Does not impart blush and glow
Does not control oil
Not recommended for oily skin types
I wanted to use this face wash the moment I saw it in the ads. That very week, after watching the ad, I bought it. The packaging is so cute, and the color looks delicious. When I squeezed the face wash on my palm, it was like a burst of all sweet things in my nostrils. Altogether, it is a very alluring product.
Now, coming to its claim of giving blush and glow, and also the song that goes on and on in the ad, I think it does nothing of that sort. Lakme has some scientific explanation for it, I guess. Other than that, I did not find any problem with it. Lakme Blush & Glow Strawberry Gel Face Wash is considerably a good face wash. It does not have a discernible effect, but it’s just a face wash. Whenever I use it, my skin feels clean and fresh. The price is a little towards the costlier side.
To sum up, my verdict is, it is an attractive face wash, and those who have dry skin type will like it. I’m not very sure about oily and combination skin types. Teenagers will go gaga over the fragrance for sure and also because of the color of the package. When I was a teenager, I had a fetish for pretty things. So, you won’t feel cheated entirely if you go for this face wash. It does clean the skin pretty well.
Improves skin health
Only a small quantity is required
I am very particular when it comes to choosing products to include in my skin care regimen. I have to be 100% sure about its quality to actually use it. That is because my skin is super sensitive and has the tendency to break out, which is my worst nightmare. I bought Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash only because it was from Johnson & Johnson. And since I’m aware that Johnson & Johnson has a line of baby products, I was not so sceptical about this face wash. But still to be on the safe side, I bought the small bottle and examined it closely after use. To be honest, I didn’t see any big difference from other face washes in the market, but after a week I was starting to like it.
The oil on my T-zone area got in control. Now, I’m using a bigger bottle of 150 mL. My love story with Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash was a process. A very fruitful process!
The fragrance is fresh and mild. I use it just two times a day – in the morning and before I go off to bed. Everytime I use this face wash, my face feels oil-free and it stays like that for a long time. The best part of it all is that this face wash does not clog pores and that way, it prevents pimples.
This is, by far, the best face wash I have used and it is also pocket-friendly. I see myself using this face wash for a really long time.
Does not cause breakouts
Covers light blemishes
Matte finish and natural glow
Does not look cakey
Protects from UV rays
Thick texture that makes is difficult to blend
Surprisingly, Lakme 9 to 5 CC Complexion Care Cream did not disappoint me because I honestly did not expect good coverage. However, it covered up my blemishes with a matte finish and also gave a natural glow. For my fair skin tone, beige shade suited me well. It does not make my skin fairer, but makes it look smooth and refined. Another thing I like about this cream is that it makes my skin look dewy instead of oily. I also love the fact that the cream has a soft, almost sweet aroma. Since I dislike strong artificial or chemical smell in makeup, this cream works well for me.
The packaging of the product is oddly satisfying. It came in a box that is hot pink color inside out. The compact packaging makes it travel-friendly and convenient.
One thing I don't like about the cream was the texture because it takes a lot of blending. If I don't blend it out properly, my skin looks patchy. But after blending properly, the cream feels light on my skin, and covers up imperfections. The cream stays on for about 5 hours or so without having to touch up and that’s a 10 on 10 for me.
So far my skin has not reacted negatively to the cream, and it has been two weeks since I got it.
So overall, Lakme 9 to 5 CC Complexion Care Cream is a product every girl should have in her bag.
Does not cause breakouts
Not suitable for oily skin
No nozzle or pump
Skin can get oily after an hour
Skin can get cakey

Whatever makeup I saw as a child seems to have evolved, but this one foundation remained. So I wanted to try it out myself. Since I’m fair, I chose the pearl shade which has a tinge of pink undertone.
The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a screw cap without a pump. I feel like this can change as you can easily spill the foundation. I will definitely not take it around. The texture is on the runny side but it blends easily and is easy to apply.
The unfortunate thing is that it does not give coverage and when I try to apply more, my face looks cakey. Also, it does not have a strong fragrance. When I apply this foundation, I get a sheer finish and a refined look, but it only lasts for one to two hours. This foundation is definitely not a go-to foundation and also not something you can wear on big occasions. I have oily skin so after every hour, I had to touch up with my compact. Because of this, I ended up looking horrible. It might work well with dry skin, giving it the moisture it needs.
My overall experience with Lakme Perfecting Foundation has neither been all negative nor all positive. I personally wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, but if you are looking for an inexpensive foundation, you can go for this.
Improves hair texture
Keeps the scalp clean for a long time
Might not reduce dandruff
Packaging is not travel-friendly
I never realized I had extreme dandruff until my boyfriend told me. I knew I had dandruff, but it didn’t occur to me that it’d be disturbing to other people. It was the most embarrassing thing to hear. The very next moment, I began hunting for solutions.
Himalaya Herbals Anti Dandruff Hair Oil seemed very promising, so I ordered it immediately. The oil comes in a transparent bottle with a green screw and an open flip cap. It’s not safe to carry it in your bag while traveling.
The oil is very runny, which makes application easy. It has a mild tea tree fragrance. I started applying it every night out of desperation as I really wanted quick results. My boyfriend’s words pricked me, and I wanted to do something about it.
Every night before I went to bed, I massaged my scalp with this oil for 7-8 minutes and tied a bun. Since the texture is not thick, my scalp didn't feel greasy or heavy. The next morning, I washed it off with shampoo and let my hair dry naturally without blow drying it. I followed this routine every day for the past three weeks.
I personally didn't feel any change concerning my dandruff, but my hair grew softer and silkier.
A few days ago, my boyfriend commented on my hair again. He said that it looks much better than before. So, I guess this oil is working slowly. Given the effort I am putting, I wish it would work faster and really control my dandruff.
Controls hair fall
Promotes hair growth
Improves split ends
The bottle gets greasy
During my childhood days, I used to apply hair oil with two braids every day to school. But, after I reached the age of 16, I stopped using it because I didn’t like its greasy feeling. Little did I know that my narrow-mindedness was going to be the death of my hair. Now I’m 24, I’m always mindful of how much hair I’m losing, to the point of being paranoid about going bald. I desperately needed a remedy! Hair oil wasn’t even on my mind back then, and I was considering serums and hair masks.
Thank goodness I have a yogini as a best friend. She knows a lot of things herbal remedies. So she told me to stop thinking and start using Trichup Hair Fall Control Oil three days a week, leave it on overnight and wash it off the next day.
Like an obedient disciple, I have been following her instructions for two months now. To start with, I’m crying! My hair fall has reduced up to 40%! Even if it isn’t a major change, it still gives me a glimmer of hope. I got bonus points with it as well - my hair dryness is gone and it looks well-nourished. However, I do wish that it worked faster.
The fact that Trichup Hair Oil is an Ayurvedic product has ended my tension of going bald. I know for sure that it will not have an adverse effect on my hair or scalp because it does not contain any chemicals. But I think I should explore other hair oils as well to compare and see which one is really effective.
This oil comes in a very cute bottle with an open flip lid. The lid can also be removed entirely because it has a screw top. The cap is securely concealed with the body, so there are low chances of the oil spilling. But if it does spill, it’s an utter mess! The bottle becomes really greasy and not convenient anymore. The color of the oil is mustard, and the consistency is well balanced. The aroma of the oil is gentle and has a hint of floral to it. Just a few drops are enough for the entire scalp. Unless you have long hair, one bottle will last you one month with consistent use. I wish it came in a bigger bottle for longer use. The bottle is not fully filled as well.
Overall, I suggest you to explore more hair oils to see which one is best suited for you. This hair oil may be effective for less damaged hair.
Strengthens the roots
Relaxing on the scalp
Heals split ends
Prevents hair fall
Does not contain mineral oil
Oil can spill on first uses
Ever since I set my heart on Ayurveda products, I haven’t been facing any casualties. Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil is one of the many Ayurvedic herbal products on my dressing table. I didn’t follow any hair regimen until I landed at the hair oil section in the super market and saw this product. I grabbed it immediately. The funny thing is, I didn’t realize that I needed hair care until I witnessed changes in my hair.
Earlier, I used to wash my hair every day because it got oily the very next day. I was frequently told how this will take away my natural moisture and damage my hair. But since my hair gets so greasy, I didn’t pay attention and continued with the daily wash. I realize now that my greasy hair was the result of dandruff. But now, because of Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil, my dandruff is under control. And I don’t need to wash it every day any more!
My experience with Patanjali Kesh Kanti Hair Oil has been very fruitful. It starts with my scalp. On every application, my scalp feels relaxed from the massage, and I get sound sleep. The next day, after washing it, my hair feels like it has been reborn. Now that it has been more than two months, my hair gets the moisture it requires without getting oily. It also has much more volume than it did before. This hair oil is my savior!
The oil also comes in very convenient packaging. The bottle has a tight lid which clicks shut sturdily, and it does not leak. The only downside is that the container is overfilled so you may spill some during first few uses. I remember the oil getting inside my nose as I was trying to sniff it. The texture is runny and is easy to apply. The color of the oil is olive green and fresh. Overall, it is an effective hair oil and fulfills its claims.
I can confidently say that I have a herbal solution for all my hair concerns.
Improves hair health
Strengthens the roots
Great oil for head massage
Encourages hair growth
100% coconut oil
Solidifies during winter
Needs warm water to wash off
I remember eating Parachute Coconut Oil from the tin container while it was in its solid form. Yuck! I won’t do that now. But then, its smell was so alluring that it was impossible to resist as a child.
Over the years, this coconut oil has upgraded to more hygienic packaging and a better formulation. But the thing I’m most grateful about is that it has remained true to its identity - 100% Coconut Oil.
When I was a kid, my mother was very careful with grooming me and my sister. She made sure our hair was taken care of as well. Back then I had beautiful hair but during my teenage years, I abandoned my mother’s remedy and invented my own i.e., hair serum and straightener. Well, it worked when I was young and fresh but now I’m in my late twenties, and my hair is crying out for help. I was absolutely unaware of the damage until I went home last winter and my mother started nagging me about my experiments on my hair. History was repeating itself when my mom forcefully started massaging my scalp and hair with Parachute Coconut Oil before bed. I had to wash it off the next day with lukewarm water. I did not use cold water because it gets greasy and makes it harder to wash off. My mom repeated this routine for one and half month. I didn’t resist after a while because the massage felt relaxing. Now that I am back in the city, whenever I meet a friend they always compliment me on how healthy my hair looks now. And I feel it too. After applying Parachute Coconut Oil for one and a half month, my hair has bid goodbye to dandruff. The roughness that made my hair look like corn hair is now turning into soft strands of silk. I have grown to love this oil again. Its smell is still the best among all the other hair oils, and the texture is balanced. It solidifies during winter, but that can be corrected by placing it in a bowl of warm water. The task of combing after hair wash has become easy, and the strands on my comb have visibly reduced. I regret ever giving up this product. Now that I’m reunited, I am marrying this hair oil.
Controls hair fall
Promotes hair growth
Improves scalp health
Prevents hair damage
Improves hair volume
Easy to wash off
The bottle can get greasy
Ever since I moved out of my hometown, I have been having major issues with hair fall and my hair has lost its volume. I blame the harsh water! I didn’t realize the urgent requirement to start taking care of my hair until a friend commented on my “before” and “after” hair look. That’s when I started looking for a remedy. One of my friends suggested me this hair oil and I have been using it for a month now. I use it thrice a week, leave it on overnight, and shampoo the next day.
The first impression I had of this product was sleek! The packaging looked very sophisticated, and I thought It would be out of my budget. But the price was very reasonable. This hair oil comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a green flip open cap. It is easy to dispense the oil, and the tube gives you control over the quantity. The lid can also be separated from the bottle because of the screw opening, in case you want more amount. The cap is closed securely with just a push and you can rest assured that it won’t leak. The consistency of the oil is runny and it is light olive green in color. I don't like the smell though as it is a little artificial.
It is easy to apply this oil as it is runny. I don’t have to do anything except apply it straight from the bottle. The best thing I like about this hair oil is that it is not too heavy on your hair. If you apply more than you should then obviously it will start dripping, but otherwise it is much milder than other hair oils I have come across.
Now, the results. After consistent use of one month, I am blessed with less hair fall. That was all I had been longing for, but then I got bonus points of hair growth and silky shine. Combing my hair after washing it is no longer a fight between my hair and the comb. And I don’t dread looking at my comb after the grooming session.
Washes off easily
Revives natural hair color
Presence of Vitamin E
Very strong smell
My heart pricks when I look at my throwback pictures. Back then, I had thick jet-black hair. It was long and had volume. I remember comparing the thickness of my hair with my cousin’s hair. But, that’s all in the past now. I think Karma hit me because I used to boast about it. Now, the thickness is gone and my black hair has a slightly muddy shade even though I have never gotten it colored.
I needed an alarm to wake up from this nightmare. Thankfully, I got one two months back. I randomly picked up Dabur Amla Hair Oil because it seemed ancient and ancient is always pure. I then found out that it has vitamin C, which is the key ingredient in producing collagen in your body that promotes hair growth. It also has antioxidants that gets rid of free radicals that cause hair damage. My random pick wasn’t that bad at all. But, honestly, I don’t like the smell. It’s strong and very distinct. However, I’m still using it because it’s Ayurvedic and my split ends have disappeared over the past month. Also in the last two months, my hair has grown two inches.
One thing I like about this oil is its fresh green color that makes me feel like I’m using an actual amla blended juice. The packaging is sturdy, and the open flip cap is securely concealed. The oil can be dispensed only through the small hole on the lid and the cap is attached to the bottle. Quantity-wise, it is more than sufficient, especially considering its price. I use it twice a week by leaving it on overnight and then washing it off the next day with shampoo. After every wash, my hair feels soft and looks voluminous. My hair continues to look like this throughout the week. I genuinely believe that this oil has had a positive effect on my hair. My nightmare is almost over.
If I were to recommend this oil to others, I would do so without hesitation.
