Not 100% tear-free
When I became a new mother, I had a variety of Johnson’s products for my daughter – from powder to shampoo. Now, she is four years old. We have changed a lot of products over time, but the shampoo remains.
Over these four years, my daughter experienced no harm from any of these products. The container is easy to use, and the pump dispenser makes it very convenient. The smell is also not too strong, so it doesn't cause any disturbance to my daughter. I feel like my daughter’s hair is well cleansed and the scalp gets the hydration it requires.
There are no harmful chemicals in the shampoo, so overall, I feel like it’s a good shampoo for her.

Does not form much lather
Over time, my hair started becoming very sensitive to every product I use, starting with dandruff, frizziness, dryness, and hair fall. It was a disaster. Then my friend suggested me Johnson's Baby Shampoo No More Tears. She said, “If it is made for children, it will obviously be mild.” I thought she made sense. So the very next day, I purchased it and started using it.
I wasn’t expecting much from it. I just needed it to clean my scalp without doing any more damage. And now, it has been over three months. I am still using it and will always be using it. Though it is mild, it does clean my scalp pretty well. During the initial washes, I didn’t feel its effect, but now after a while, my hair started feeling soft.
One downfall is that it does not form much lather. So I have to use it twice to cover my scalp. But I don’t mind it as long as it’s not damaging my hair.

Very harmful for children
Johnson's products have been used in my family for a long time, and so far we all thought that it is a safe product. But when I recently read one article about it, it got me scared. Apparently, this shampoo from Johnson has ‘quaternium 15’ as one of its ingredients. When I read more about it, quaternium is the other name for FORMALDEHYDE. Which is very harmful. And the fact that it is present in a children’s product is scary.
I am not going to use any products from J&J for any of my children.

Does not lather much
My children grew up using this shampoo. But now they have outgrown it. And since I have a habit of stocking things up, I still had a new bottle stored in the corner of the drawer. So I thought of using it as a handwash and it was doing good. Once, when I was going to wash my makeup brushes, I used it to wash them, and it did a very good of cleaning the brushes as well.
The shampoo eventually ran out. But while it lasted, it did come in handy.
The ingredients are Water*, Cocamidopropyl Betaine*, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate*, Lauryl Glucoside*, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Glycerin*, Citric Acid*, Sodium Benzoate, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate*, Fragrance [Benzyl Acetate, Ionone Beta, Methyl Ionones, Peach Pure, Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol, Tropional], Polyquaternium-10, Disodium EDTA.
Yes, adults can. Johnson's Baby Shampoo is a very mild shampoo because it is sulfate-free. Which is also the reason why it does not form much lather. Though it is meant for children, adults can also use it, but the hair won’t be as shiny and silky. But it repairs and makes the hair better eventually.
