PROS

Good colour payoff

Easy to use

I was gifted the MAC lip pencil in the shade Heroine. A pretty purple colour, the pigmentation is awesome. Glides on pretty well, but does require to be tugged on lips that aren't exfoliated and moisturised. It is a bit drying, but does last me for about 4 hours, before softly fading. It needs to be kept in a cool place as the heat makes the tip melt and break off.

I always want to highlight my lips but not very fond of lipsticks as they stick to food and the cups. After research, I found these MAC lip pencil, which comes in various shades. I bought two shades, and I would like to review one of them. MAC lip pencil is perfect for filling the lips when you are in a hurry in the morning. I swiftly line and fill my lips, and on the top, I apply a little clear gloss to make them healthy. The MAC pencils are smooth with excellent texture intended for shaping, the lining of the lips. There are several shades, and I preferred MAC Dervish. I felt they are long-lasting. MAC also addressed that these pencils are protected by vitamin E, which acts as an anti-oxidant. The MAC lip pencils are creamy and pigmented, which is fantastic. But I do feel however they are not moisturizing and made my lips dry a slight bit, but with lip gloss topping I felt better. This is surprising as when you apply, it was smooth and did glide on the lips. I also like that fact that these MAC lip pencils can be sharpened to the fine tip with most sharpeners as they don’t break. These are quite long too!! Price aspect I felt it was on par as they come from the MAC brand. I prefer these MAC lip pencils are an excellent color for tan skin tones, and this is good for my skin tone. This MAC lips pencils defiantly deserves a big yay because of its quick application. This has become part of my purse and everyday make-up routine. Also, this will stay for quite some time as well. I recommend this to anybody who is looking out for a unique version an everyday ‘nude’ lip.

Color matches my lipstick
5/5

PROS

My skin shade is NC45 and my sister recommended me to try out the new lip pencil by Mac. The Mac lip pencil shade Ruby Woo is the perfect match for me. It glides on your lips without leaving a break or crease. It is highly pigmented, making it easy to apply without much pressure. You can use the liner to fill your lips as well. It gives you a subtle hint of color distributed evenly and lasts long. I alternate it as a liner and lipstick as per my mood. The final look is not as deep as the lipstick. But it still looks great. For beginners, do check out the tutorial for perfect application. Also, walk into the MAC store and get the suggestion of the right shade for your skin tone. If you are someone who doesn’t like to add a lot of drama to your lips, then pair this liner with a lip balm. It works like a charm. I can't believe I didn't buy this sooner. This is a choice you won't regret.

Great product at a reasonable price

PROS

MAC is my go-to brand for lip liners. Lipsticks and liners boost up my mood. They have a beautiful set of shades that match every lipstick I own.  On its own, as a liner, the cost might seem high. But here is why the price is justified. To begin with, the choice of colors. The nudes are adorable and do justice to its shade. You can use it as a liner and lipstick - 2 in 1. They last for more than 8 hrs. This is with all the drinks and meals included. Applying it is easy, and it spreads beautifully without much effort. I have one in my bag, one in my office and one at home. And I have never felt better.

Good. But I have used better

PROS

If you have never used a lip liner before, then you can start with this product. It will be easy on the pocket and not very disappointing. For regular users, it will feel a little off.I use Bobbi Brown lip pencil. It is almost double the cost of MAC. I picked out the MAC Lip Pencil only because of the hype that this product has created and the price. It is a clear case of overpromised and under delivered. The colors are good. But it took me forever to make a simple line without having it feel chalky. It goes well with my lip balm, but I expected the moisture to be maintained by the liner which they claim can be used to fill up the lips too. For someone who is an avid user of lip liners, this doesn't rank on the top 3.

I was looking for the perfect nude shade for my skin tone, and I have finally found it. Slides on my lips like butter and is so easy to reapply as well. I chew on my lips a lot, and it still manages to stay on. I am happy I stumbled upon this.
