Might not suit every skin tone
I read so many mixed reviews about this shade Satin Taupe that it made me skeptical if it was going to suit me. I loved the shade so much that I didn’t mind buying it, even if it was going to be a waste on me. I love MAC eyeshadows. Everything about them is so perfect, and that is one thing that made me believe that this shade might actually work for me.
So, I bought it. And it did suit me. But it took me a little while to figure out how to actually make it look good on me, instead of making me look black-eyed. The first time I used this shade, I put it all over till the crease (I was trying to pull off a smokey eye) and I terribly failed. I thought it’s not going to suit me. But, I didn’t wanna give up, and I gave it another try.
This time, I did it differently. Instead of putting it everywhere, I blended it with a little beige shade and topped with eyeliner. Guess what? This look was no less than a show stopper. On my eyelid, this color looks more brown and less purple. It’s beautiful!
This satin shade is so amazing - the perfect balance of matte and shimmer and it doesn’t over or under power your look. It’s just perfect. If you also plan on buying this shade, give it a try first and then buy it. You don’t wanna take chances as I did. And do try other shades in MAC’s Satin Eyeshadow range.

Primer is needed
Not very travel-friendly (Palette preferred)
I love satin eyeshadows, and from this range of MAC Satin Eyeshadows, I own about seven shades. The first shade I bought was Print - it’s a muted gray with shimmer in it. With this shade alone, I used to create my smokey eye look, and it looked terrific. And slowly, I bought six more shades.
The reason I have so many shades from this range is that there is nothing better I have ever come across. I love everything about this formula, the shades, pigmentation, and their lasting power. Also, all the colors I own complement my dark complexion and doesn’t make me look overdone.
I would have preferred these eyeshadows in a palette or something because carrying around these tiny containers is a pain at times. Although single eyeshadows do give you the liberty to pick the shades you like, but for traveling at least, the palette is preferable. Nonetheless, these still are my favorite eyeshadows.

Not all colors suit all skin tones
I know these eyeshadows are great and everyone loves them, but these just didn’t work for me, and I’m so disappointed. First, these eyeshadow singles are expensive. At most, I can afford one or two of them, nothing more than this.
I got this shade Brule - it’s a soft, creamy beige shade and I was really looking forward to using it. But, it just didn’t suit me. The pigmentation is good, but on my eyelids, it disappears, like it’s not there at all. I spent so much on it, and it’s not even visible.

A little goes a long way
Perfect shade for medium to dark skin tones
I own the shade Grain from the MAC Satin eyeshadow range and have been using this for close to a year now. These are slightly on the higher end, but these also last forever. I use this almost every day and have barely created a dent in the eyeshadow. Just one swipe is enough to give you the desired result. The color doesn’t crease and lasts long. I love this shade.
