I had bleached my hair to make it pink. And that taught me one life lesson – never to bleach my hair ever again. I enjoyed the pink hair just for three weeks, and then it washed off, leaving me with blonde corn hair. I got The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum, hoping it’ll do something.

I also got a trim because my tips were very dry. Now, along with other hair care products, The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum is something I use. Ever since I got it, I have been using it consistently, never missing a day.

The serum comes in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The pump dispenser makes it a whole lot more convenient to use and is also travel-friendly. The fragrance of the serum leans towards fruitiness. It is not very strong, though.

After four weeks of use, my hair is in such a good place. I mean, the damage hasn’t vanished entirely, but the rubbery feeling on the strands has sobered down a lot. My hair looks shiny and healthy. But of course, when I touch it, the texture remains damaged. What I’m trying to say is, it gives an illusion of amazing hair. Which works well for me.

If this serum works this good on highly damaged hair, I can only imagine how it will be on natural hair. I am totally buying this serum over and over again.

When I apply The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum, I almost feel like I have not applied anything. It is that lightweight. I love the smell and the packaging as well.

Though it is lightweight, it deeply nourishes my tresses. I have an oily scalp, but my hair tips are really dry, so I just take 2-3 pumps and apply it only around the tips. It helps in detangling and adding this layer-like glossiness, which makes my hair look very attractive. And the glossiness lasts the entire day.

I highly recommend it for those with dry, brittle and frizzy hair. It works best when I apply it on damp hair. It can also be used as a styling serum. The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum has totally won my heart.

PROS

Hygienic packaging

CONS

Does not control frizz

Not enough shine

The effect is not long lasting

The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum isn’t working for me like it’s working for most people. Initially, it seems to be working, but after 5-10 minutes, my frizziness is back. And it does not add much shine as well. I usually get the same kind of shine with a conditioner. Since this serum is all about glossiness, I was expecting an exceptional shine if not for anything else. Utterly disappointed with the results.

After using it for two weeks now, I still don’t understand the hype about it. I really tried to look closely, but there is nothing different about it that will make me want to repurchase it. I find it the same as any other serum out there in the market – it detangles, smells good, softens the hair and adds a moderate shine. The only difference is, this is quite expensive. I’ll continue using it until it lasts. But after that, I’ll switch to another brand.
