I am a big TBS fan because of its amazing range of products and also because of its fragrances. I am sure many of you will relate to it. I got The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost Serum last month. My skin is dry, and sometimes, just a moisturizer doesn’t do the trick.
To be honest, I was a little skeptical about how well it will work with my moisturizer. My skin didn’t feel any sort of oiliness or greasiness. I use it on top of my moisturizer, and it gives me the exact amount of nourishment I want with a hint of glow. If you have dry skin, you will understand the joy of any shine. The dullness is nowhere to be seen! I am in love with it!
The bottle is quite small though. I wish it came in a bigger size. The serum has a clear light gel texture with a strong orange smell. Whenever I apply the serum, my nostrils feel rejuvenated with the uplifting fragrance. It doesn’t last for long though.
Overall, this is another wonderful product for me from TBS. A piece of advice – if you have sensitive or oily skin, I suggest you skip it and go for more neutral products. It did not break me out (thankfully) but know that every product works differently for everyone. Besides that, keep your skin happy and healthy!

Softens the skin
Does not brighten complexion
I use this product in the morning after I wash my face and then slather moisturizer over it. I got it expecting it would make my combination skin look brighter. It has been over three weeks, but I still see no results. Also, when I looked closely, this product isn't quite as natural as other Body Shop products, because it has silicone!
Despite that, the results are still beautiful, and the skin looks smooth and radiant. I love how appealing this product smells. It's nice to put on because it glides well on my skin. It makes my face really smooth and soft to the touch. I wish it brightened my skin as well. Overall, it is just an average serum.

Does not cause breakouts
Not for oily skin
Makes the skin greasy
Not quick absorbed
The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost Instant Smoother is one product I am very disappointed with. Why? Because it is a silicone-based serum. It does not get absorbed into my skin and just sits on the surface throughout the day. Added to that, I have oily skin so the shine it gives me looks greasy. I think it will be best for normal to dry skin and not for combination to oily. Thankfully it did not break me out. I won’t be using it anymore.

Can be used as a primer
Improves skin’s texture
I have been using this serum for two years now. The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost Serum makes my face feel soft and gives it a nice glow. I love that the serum does not have any greasiness to it otherwise it would be a big minus point for my combination skin. I use it under my makeup as a primer which forms a nice and smooth base. I also use it on my hands as a hand cream because of its smell. Overall, it is a great product!
There are no specific records of any side effects. In general, however, The Body Shop products may cause irritation with their fragrance. Though it is a pleasant and appealing scent, the added fragrance can cause skin irritation and inflammation.
Also, The Body Shop products often contain botanical extracts that may affect consumers with plant-based allergies. These are just a probability. There are no serious negative effects.
