Gul Panag was born to Lt. Gen. Harcharanjit Singh Panag and Gurjit Kaur in 1979. As a result of her father’s transfers, Gul had to move from one place to another throughout her childhood and her teenage years. Due to this, Gul studied in 14 schools in India, as well as abroad! We can imagine how difficult it would have been to say goodbye to friends and never have permanent connections outside the family throughout childhood. Nonetheless, she was always an active kid and took immense interest in sports and extra-curricular activities.
Gul Panag holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Political Science. She was also extremely good at public speaking and debates that won her titles at the national level!
Modelling And Movies
Gul Panag was crowned as Miss India 1999 where she also won the title of the Miss Beautiful Smile. Well, why wouldn’t she? Just look at her smile! She represented India in the 48th Miss Universe Pageant that was held the same year in Chaguaramas, Trinidad, and Tobago. Since then, she has crossed many noteworthy milestones in the modeling field. She’s often spotted at fashion shows and in television and print ads. In 2009, she was the face of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week on Twitter. Currently, she‘s the brand ambassador for Tata Sky alongside Aamir Khan.
Gul Stepped into the glam world of Bollywood in 2003 as Peehu Verma in the movie Dhoop. The movie was directed by Ashwini Chaudhary; she shared screen space with prominent actors like Om Puri, Revathy, and Sanjay Suri in the movie. Gul isn’t the typical Bollywood actress who is blinded by fame. She’s says she’s choosy when it comes to her acting career, just like the roles she takes up in her real life. Her performance was appreciated in movies like Manorama Six Feet Under, Rann, and Dor. Gul has acted in television serials like Kashmeer, Khoobsurat, and Kis Mein Kitna Hei Dum.

Gul Panag’s life is the one that makes most of us burn. When she married her longtime boyfriend Capt. Rishi Attari, she rode along with him on a Royal Enfield Bullet defying the typical horse and a fancy car custom! It’s pretty clear that the lady has always chosen the unconventional routes. Gul is crazy about biking and she often goes on road trips giving us serious #travelgoals. Just look at those stylish sunglasses and the leather jacket! She’s a mother to her baby boy Nihal who just blew his first set of candles a few months ago.
Gul Panag also contested in the 2014 General elections as an Aam Aadmi Party candidate in Chandigarh. With her public speaking and debate skills, and her master’s degree in Political Science, it’s definitely a field where she can shine. But it looks like she’s the kind of person who wants to have it all and she’s surely taking off towards her goals just like the airplanes she flies. Gul became a licensed pilot in 2016 and is flying higher than ever before. “One year ago, today I checked a big item off my bucket list,” she expressed her happiness on her Instagram post.
