It is not every day that an actor or actress receives a compliment from the Big B himself. Amitabh Bachchan, commonly called the Shahenshah of Bollywood, has an acting career of over 50 years and is still going strong. The 77-year-old actor took to social media to add brand new pictures of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in his shoot diaries. Fans of the actors went wild at these photographs with many commenting about their love for them. Read on to find out what the legendary Big B had to say about the two young love birds.
Effervescent And Supremely Talented Alia
Nobody can deny that Alia Bhatt is an extremely talented actress. As of 2019, she is the highest-paid actress in not just Bollywood, but India as a whole. She has also managed to bag four Filmfare Awards for her outstanding performances. She has proven her acting chops time and time again with consecutive hits. From Student Of The Year to Highway and Dear Zindagi, her films have always stolen the hearts of fans everywhere. The Gully Boy actress is all set to star in the superhero movie, Brahmāstra along with Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Akkineni Nagarjuna. Amitabh Bachchan seems to have gotten along extremely well with his younger co-stars, Ranbir and Alia. The actor shared an image of him hugging Alia Bhatt on the film set and captioned it with “… she breezed in .. did her shot .. a huddle .. and out .. the effervescent, supremely talented, scintillating Alia ..”
Then And Now
Amitabh and Ranbir go waaay back; like the year 1990 way back. When Ranbir was around eight years old he got to visit the sets of the film Ajooba. The director of the film was none other than his grand-uncle, Shashi Kapoor. The film featured Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir’s father, Rishi Kapoor in lead roles. Amitabh shared a throwback picture of a young Ranbir Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor and himself while they were on set of the film along with a recent picture of him and Ranbir on the sets of Brahmāstra. Amitabh referred to Ranbir as wide-eyed as a child and stated that today Ranbir is extremely dominant in comparison.
Big B Is A Big Ranbir Fan
This isn’t the first time the Sholay actor has sung Ranbir praises. Big B had previously shared some fun images of Ranbir teaching him a few set tricks. The young actor helped Amitabh set up earplugs while they were in between their shots. Ranbir is seen lending a helping hand to Amitabh in setting up his earphones. “He teaches and sets up for me the sound earplugs .. they sound good .. good riddance of the wires and cables .. !!, the actor captioned the image he shared on Twitter.
Amitabh has been giving his fans quite a few BTS pictures from the sets of Brahmāstra. The actor had earlier shared a collage that featured Ranbir Kapoor and joked that he needed four sets of chairs to match up to Ranbir Kapoor’s enormous talent. Ranbir Kapoor must be floating on cloud nine after looking at these lovely pictures.
An Old Friend Of The Kapoors
Not many people are aware that the Kapoor and Bachchan families are not just bonded through film, but through marriage as well. Amitabh Bachchan’s older child, Shweta Bachchan Nanda is married to Nikhil Nanda, who like Ranbir, is the grandson of Raj Kapoor. In terms of films, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor have co-starred in nine films together. Their films Amar Akbar Anthony and Coolie performed extremely well and are much loved by fans of the pair. The duo was most recently spotted in 102 Not Out where Rishi Kapoor played Amitabh’s grumpy and boring son. Fans were elated to see the duo take the screens once more and the film did extremely well at the box office.
Brahmāstra is set to be released on the 4th of December 2020 and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. Karan Johar is producing the film and it is planned to be a trilogy. The film has been facing a couple of hurdles related to the official release date. Brahmāstra was officially announced in April, 2019 and it was planned to release on Christmas Day the same year.
