Society places a lot of pressure on women to look young and age gracefully. But what can that even mean? People should start to understand that aging is a privilege and accumulates wisdom and experience. Feeling and looking your absolute best as you age is not just about using sunscreens or certain kinds of makeup. It’s also about the relationships you have built, the memories you’ve made and how happy you are, or the fulfillment you have received. Of course, we’re not saying that if you are concerned about how you age, you are vain, but there are plenty of things you can do to look your best. If you are a bit conscious about looking older, fret not! There are plenty of easy beauty tips that can help you look years younger, and we’ve listed ten of them in this title. Read on to know more:

1. Moisturize Your Neck And Hands

The skin on your neck, decollete, lips, and hands are much thinner than the skin on the rest of your body. The thinner your skin, the more likely you are to look older and acquire wrinkles. Hence you need to take special care of them and ensure that you moisturize regularly. You need to make sure that you massage these areas well too. You can use olive oil if you prefer something more natural or a water-based moisturizer if you have oily skin.

2. Switch From Lipstick To Lip Tints

Lipstick is another common makeup item that can make you look older than you actually are. As we age, the skin on our lips is thin, and thus lipsticks that are darker in shades make us look older. It’s a better idea to stain your lips with a lip tint or simply wear tinted lip balms and blood instead. Going minimal with makeup is a great way to look younger, even though it may sound like the opposite would work.

3. Avoid Using Matte Foundations

The biggest goal when it comes to achieving youthful skin is being able to successfully imitate hydrated, healthy, and radiant skin. Hence, while finding the right concealer and foundation, you should look for a finish that looks a bit more natural compared to matte. This will make your skin look naturally radiant.

4. Add Vitamin C Serum To Your Regular Beauty Routine

Oranges are excellent for you, but vitamin C supplements or serums are even better for your skin. Vitamin C supports the production of elastin and collagen. It’s recommended to use serums at night so they can soak into your skin and is the most potent way to absorb Vitamin C.

5. Opt For Lighter Shades Of Lipstick

As we had mentioned in a prior point, wearing lighter lipstick shades can help you look younger. Opt for rosy reds or flesh-toned shades and avoid using bright orange, coral, or peach-colored shades. These can make your teeth look stained yellow, so it’s advised not to use them. Avoid swiping your lipstick without adding other makeup, as that can make you look super old.

6. Highlight Sparingly

Warm highlighter tones work well with light reflection and sheet and work better as we grow old. Apply a highlighter to your decolletage and upper cheekbones but not your entire face. You can choose to highlight your nose as well.

7. Switch Up Your Hairstyle

As one ages, their hair tends to change as well and often turns coarser in texture. Dry hair is another common problem faced by older women. If you are someone who gets a lot of heat styling done or if you use a straightening iron on your hair, it may be more damaged than you think. Make sure you get haircuts often, take biotin supplements and get deep conditioning treatments at your salon.

8. Dress Smartly And Don’t Wear Shapeless Clothes

The common saying is to dress for the size you are, not for the size you were. However, hiding yourself behind large, baggy clothes isn’t the most flattering. Instead, you should opt for tailored and more fitted garments that make you look smarter (and sharper). You need to make sure that you stand tall and stand proud in whatever you choose to wear.

9. Keep Olive Oil On Your Makeup Station

If you have ever wondered about the benefits of olive oil for your skin, then you’ve come to the right place. If you’ve got sensitive, dry skin, then it’s a good idea to apply extra-virgin olive oil to your skin. This is because olive oil is enriched with fatty acids and is a very gentle moisturizer.

10. Embrace Thicker Eyebrows

Defined yet bold eyebrows can give you the appearance of a more youthful face. Consider investing in a product that can fill in any gaps you may have in your brows as your eyebrows get thinner as you age, as well. Look for something that is a cross between a powder and a pencil. We love Brooke Shields’s iconic eyebrows, and the way she has styled them makes her look really youthful.

While you cannot prevent growing old, we’re here to tell you that you can look your very best if you take good care of your skin and watch what you put into your body. Keeping a healthy mind and having a positive outlook in life is also beneficial when it comes to looking younger. We hope this article was of help to you.
