You’re probably bored out of your mind during this government-imposed lockdown. However, there are tonnes of ways to keep yourself entertained during this time. Luckily for us, online streaming platforms have been dishing out really good content consistently. So here are a few web-series that would help beat boredom in its entirety. While some of these are easily binge-watchable over the weekend, others require a little more time and effort. These web series are super gripping and will have you at the edge of your seat.

1. Made In Heaven

Made In Heaven is a really progressive show that details the lives of two friends, Karan and Tara who are in the wedding planning industry. The show chronicles the lives of Delhi’s elite brides and bachelors and deals with topics like homophobia, the dowry system, superstitions, adultery, and many more. Sobhita Dhulipalia excels as the career-driven and uber-confident Tara and Arjun Mathur showcases the pain people belonging to the LGBTQ community have to endure in a homophobic country like ours.

Delhi Crime is a show that is loosely based around the horrific Delhi gang-rape case that occurred in 2012. This is a show that doesn’t cut corners and isn’t afraid to delve into the true nature of how horrific a crime it was. If you’re someone who cannot handle an intense topic of this level, it’s best to skip this one. However, for those of you who can handle it, the show is gripping, brilliantly directed, and has a nail-biting cliff-hanger to keep you waiting for the next season.

Another show that is not for the faint of heart. If horror stories and shows aren’t you’re thing, it’s best to avoid ghoul. Radhika Apte stars as a young Muslim military officer who is discriminated against because of her religion. The show dives into the concept of terrorist encounters and features the scariest ambient lighting we’ve seen in a Hindi horror. This show is a must-watch for fans of the horror genre and deals with topics that are very much happening around us right now.

Mirzapur is a crime drama that relies heavily on the shock factor of violence and the stellar performances of the lead actors. The show features a star cast of Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyendu Sharma among others, and has gained a massive fan following in recent times. The show is centered around one nuclear family of five people and is shown through the lens of the middle child. This show is a refreshing change and women in STEM are finally receiving the recognition they need. It helps people see engineering through the perspective of three women hostellers and future engineers.

7. Laakhon Mein Ek

Lakhon Mein Ek is a show that chronicles what many young engineering students have to face when they enter the “Kota system”. The show was created by an ex-engineering student himself, Biswa Kalyan Rath, and is extremely hard-hitting. It was so well received, that they even made a season 2 that deals with the topic of medical malpractice.

The actress plays a grey character who is often thrown into awkward situations because of her compulsive lying and obsessive traits.
