Most of us turn to our televisions when we need a break from the world and when we just want to relax for a bit. However, if you’re someone who is tired of watching those lame saas-bahu type serials all the time, then we don’t blame you. There are tonnes of wholesome, fun and super interesting shows that you can watch on television channels. While many of us don’t bother turning on our television since we have so many shows available on our phones itself, it’s always a good idea to switch on and switch off for some time. Even if you don’t live with your family and don’t have a television, many of these shows are available on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime or Discovery Plus. Here are seven shows that we absolutely cannot get enough of:

1. EPICs “Stories By Rabindranath Tagore”

Rabindranath Tagore is a Nobel prize winning poet and author and has been a major part of Indian history. However, most of his work has been written in his native language of Bangla. What makes this short series special is that it has been shot in Hindi and is a great way of introducing non-Bangla speakers to the works of Tagore. This show is primarily directed by famed director Anurag Basu and showcases the laid back lifestyle of a time gone by. This series offers a wonderful glimpse into the world of West Bengal through the lens of an emerging new country.

2. TLC’s “Say Yes To The Dress”

Say Yes To The Dress is basically all about brides searching for their dream wedding dress to celebrate their white wedding in. It involves brides and their families coming together to find the perfect outfit for them, and deciding whether they want to “Say Yes To The Dress” or not. If you’re someone who has an eye for fashion and passion for watching shows that have you biting your nails and sitting at the edge of your seat, then Say Yes To The Dress is the perfect show to meet all your requirements. The hilarious comments and silly family feuds will have you rolling on the floor laughing.

3. Comedy Central’s “Impractical Jokers”

Impractical Jokers is a show where a group of good friends give each other fun dares and prank random members of the public. What makes this show super funny is that the ones in the show have absolutely no idea that they are being pranked until much later. They rate each other on this and then give the person who loses an even more terrible dare to participate in. This show is as chaotic as it is hilarious and stupid. It will give you a nostalgic insight into your own college days.

4. Zee Zest’s “India’s 50 Best Dishes”
