Being in love is a wonderful feeling. As many people say, it gives us butterflies in our stomach and we feel elevated and happy. But when you know that you are with the wrong person, it is better to break the relationship off rather than staying in something that makes you unhappy. Breakups are hard, no doubt, but it is toxic to stay in a relationship that does not serve you well. Besides, if couples break up as a result of a mutually agreed decision of being wrong for one another, it becomes easier to remain cordial. Of course, it is not easy to remain friends with someone you were once in love with, but if there is a chance that couples can make the effort to be on good terms with their exes, it goes a long way. After all, they were a part of your life for a while and meant a great deal to you. However, being friends with an ex is one thing (which is difficult in itself) but attending their weddings is a whole other ball game. As weird as it sounds, here are five Bollywood celebrities who attended their exes’ weddings and there was absolutely no awkwardness.
1. Dino Morea
Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu were in a long term relationship. The Raaz couple were together from 1996 to 2002 and they were one of the most talked-about couples in Bollywood. In 2002, they called it quits but shared a cordial relationship and remained friends. In 2016, Bipasha Basu tied the knot to actor Karan Grover and Dino Morea attended the wedding. There was nothing uncomfortable or unpleasant about it. He even posted a sweet picture on Instagram wishing the couple a happy marriage. This just goes to show that exes can be friends if there is mutual respect between them.
2. Ranbir Kapoor
There were rumors that Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor were dating after the release of Saawariya although it was never confirmed by either of them. When asked about it on Koffee With Karan, Sonam completely denied it and she said that they are “good friends”. The two of them started their career with Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Saawariya and hence were probably paired together. Recently, in 2018, when Sonam married Anand Ahuja, Ranbir Kapoor attended the wedding with his girlfriend Alia Bhatt. The two of them are working together for this year’s release Brahmastra and this hand-in-hand entry was when rumors of their relationship started.
3. Dipannita Sharma
Like wine, the actor who only gets better with age, Milind Soman was rumored to be dating Dipannita Sharma who was his co-star in 16 December and Jodi Breakers. The sizzling chemistry they shared in the movie 16 December made room for such speculation but it was never confirmed by either of them. He married Ankita Konwar in 2018 and his ex, Dipannita Sharma attended the wedding. She posted pictures of each of them on Instagram with the captions “This craziness getting married! @milindrunning wish you the world of happiness & so much more… #MilindAnkitaWedding” and “The coolest bride @earthy_5 #AnkitaKonwa.. #MilindAnkitaWedding #mehendi #kaalachashma @milindrunning” and it was very sweet.
4. Neha Dhupia
Rumors made the rounds that Neha Dhupia and Yuvraj Singh were dating after they attended the birthday celebration of singer and actor Sophie Choudry together. The speculations were so serious that there were rumors about them getting hitched. However, in an interview, the former Miss India shut out the media and said there was no such thing and they were not in a relationship. In 2016, the Indian cricketer married model and actress Hazel Keech and in 2018, Neha married Angad Bedi. Neha attended Yuvi’s wedding and it is said that she met her husband Angad Bedi at the wedding.
5. Ranveer Singh

We all know that heartthrob Ranveer Singh married the fabulous Deepika Padukone in 2018 and they are one of the most loved couples of Bollywood. But before these lovebirds got together, it was reported that Ranveer was dating Hema Malini’s younger daughter Ahana Deol. The two of them dated for a brief period before they decided to part ways amicably. In 2014, Ahana Deol married businessman Vaibhav Vohra and Ranveer Singh attended the wedding with his ladylove Deepika Padukone.
While some couples believe in completely cutting their exes out of their lives, some others believe that it is okay to keep in touch and share a cordial relationship and this has worked too. There is no hard and fast rule that says two people who have dated before cannot be friends. It entirely depends on the couple and their comfort in the relationship. These celebrities have shown us that it is possible to be friends with your ex and wish them happiness in life. Do you know any other Bollywood celebrities who are friends and exes? Do you think you can be friends with your ex? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
