Best Bollywood Song Remakes Of 2019

by Shivani K

Like every year, this year too, it’s raining remakes when it comes to Bollywood songs. Earlier every single Bollywood movie had its own unique and original list of song compilations. After all, music has always been one of the key elements while making a Bollywood movie. However, these days, the tides are going in the reverse direction. Most of the Bollywood movies these days have at least one, if not two of older Bollywood songs remade into new ones. For example, the Aankh Maarey song from the Sara Ali Khan-Ranveer Singh starrer movie Simmba was such a huge hit, isn’t it?

These days, so many remakes of older versions of Bollywood songs are being made! While some manage to capture the hearts of the audience turning them into a revived hit song, there are some that fall so flat that people wonder why on earth was such a beautiful original track remade. And since it’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow, it’s always a good idea to recall all the good song numbers from the previous year. We’ve curated this list of some of the best Bollywood song remakes; read and sing along!

#1 The “Jawani” Song From Student Of The Year 2

The much-awaited sequel SOTY2 which was released in May 2019 must have dunked at the box office. But the songs of this movie created quite a stir among the youngsters. And the song Jawani which is a remake of the original Kishore Kumar song from the movie Jawani Diwani became a favorite dance number for many.

#2 The “Mungda” Song From Total Dhamaal

Sonakshi Sinha sure does look ravishing in this recreated song from the multi-starrer comedy movie that hit the theatres in 2019. The song which is a remake of O Mungda Mungda from the movie Inkaar of 1977 that has Helen dancing to its tunes wasn’t accepted that well by the oldies. However, the song sure did make its place in the list of dance numbers at clubs.

#3 The “Gud Naal Ishq Mitha” Song From Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga

This remake of the original song Gur Naal Ishq Mitha from the Malaika Arora starrer movie from 1997 was loved by many. The remake of this song saw the father-daughter duo Sonam and Anil Kapoor shake a leg in the most simple, innocent way depicting the sheer innocence of the father-daughter bond their characters share. It’s a subtle dance number to which even your grandparents can shake a leg.

#4 The “Paisa Yeh Paisa” Song From Total Dhamaal

It’s become a norm for multi-starrer Bollywood movies to include remake songs in their song list. And when the sequel to the blockbuster comedy movie Dhamaal released, they too picked an original song from the movie Karz of 1980, the Paisa Yeh Paisa song and recreated it. To this remake you can see many eminent Bollywood superstars like Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit dancing.

This song is a remake of the song Yeh Khabar Chapwado Akhbar Mein from the movie Aflatoon of 1997 that has Akshay Kumar and Urmila Matondkar dancing to its tunes. This peppy number was remade and the audience loved the song. It was a huge hit with a million views on social media channels within a day. In the new number, we see Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon dancing away.

#6 The “O Saki Saki” Song From Batla House

When Koena Mitra danced to the tunes of the song Saaki Saaki from the movie Musafir, we thought no other actress could have done justice to the item song like her. However, Bollywood remade this for the movie Batla House in 2019 where Norah Fatehi was seen playing with fire and dancing for the same track. Norah sure does look stunning like always, but the fact that she already danced to Dilbar in a similar manner made us feel like we were seeing just another version of it. She failed to nail it this time peeps!

#7 The “Shaitan Ka Saala” Song From Houseful 4

As much as Houseful 4’s plotline fills us with angst about what has Bollywood gone to these days — the movie was such a failure in spite of the huge star cast! However, this particular song Shaitan Ka Saala in which Akshay Kumar is seen dancing hilarious became a hit. This song is originally a makeover of an international song Bala from Tony Montana music.
