1. Use An Old Bra And Make It A Strapless One

All you really need to do is snip the area where the strap’s bottom meets your back and also where the rear end of your bra fits the cup. You will then end up having your bra cup and loose straps in hand. After this, you should then sew the end of the bra strap to the cup’s bottom so that it wraps around. Another method would be to wrap one strap to the back and tuck it under the back hook. That way you don’t have to destroy the bra and make it multipurpose instead.

2. Keep Your Bra Inside A Mesh Covering Instead Of Throwing It Into The Machine

Everyone says you need to hand wash your bras but honestly, who even has time to do all of that? You might have noticed that regular machine washes would have caused your beautiful bra cups to crease making them look like a cracked surface. Find any cloth material that is porous and wrap it around your bra for a clean wash without unnecessary tugs and pressure on it. It wouldn’t squeeze the cups too much and also rinse the dirt perfectly.  If you want to save money but make your bras last longer, we’d recommend that you use a mesh covering and keep your bra inside it.

If you are someone who has a heavier bust and has to deal with painful dents on your shoulder due to the strap, we understand your pain. In order to prevent the pain, you can slide a pair of silicone bra pads under your bra straps. This will help relieve pressure caused by tugging off the strap into your skin. Another thing you can do is avoid bras that have really skinny straps as they can irritate your skin further. If this is a constant issue, you should get a professional bra fitting done.

4. Store Your Bras With Both Cups Open

We’ve all probably made the mistake of inverting one cup into the other in order to save space. However, it’s not a good idea to invert one of your cups over the other as it can destroy the fibers in the molding and make the cups look really bumpy. This will eventually shorten the lifespan of your bra.

5. Use Moleskin To Fix An Exposed Underwire

There is nothing worse than discovering that your bra’s underwire has broken through the fabric and it is now jabbing into you mercilessly. Luckily there is a quick fix that can help stop the pain instantly. Just push the underwire back into the hold and seal it off with a piece of moleskin. It is basically a thick cotton fabric that can secure the underwire and prevent it from coming out of your bra. Another broke girl hack would be to whip out a thin sanitary pad and cut a chunk with scissors. Since there is already glue behind it, you can simply wrap it in that exposed area and secure it firmly.

If you are someone who is very active at the gym then you know that washing your gym clothes is quite a headache. Instead, you can wash your sports bra as this will save you time and also make your sports bra last much longer. Since a sports bra is not worn regularly by most, just a quick water wash would be enough to ward off the sweat.

Take your regular bras and add a layer of oomph to them by making them strapless. Take a bra strap, and hook it behind your bra on one of its sides. Then bring the strap around your back and hook the strap on the other end of your bra. You can find tutorials to do the same on YouTube. If your regular bra is too old you can simply unstitch the straps out or detach it. To keep it stable, all you have to do is add a layer of padding underneath the boob area. Moleskin or a cotton cloth will do.

One of the coolest ways to recycle an old bra is to turn it into a purse. A round pouch purse is a great way to renew an old bra. All you need to do is get rid of the band and the straps of the bra. Then take a glue gun and spread the glue at the corner of the bras under bands and let them dry. You can decorate it with rhinestones, pop-pom balls, and other things. Then stitch a zip inside the bras opening and add lace straps for bag straps.

It feels very disappointing when the bra you love looks weary and dull only a few months after purchasing. It is important to treat your bra with care and not subject it to vigorous rubs while washing. We guarantee that you will want to try at least some of these hacks with your older bras.
