Six Bridal Shower Games That Aren’t Super Boring

Written by Mitha Shameer  •

Yes, we have all been to a bridal shower which was lame and boring as hell, to say the least. You don’t want to be the party pooper, so you play along no matter how boring it gets. It’s easy to mess things up when it comes to games to play during bridal showers. You don’t want to throw a bridal shower or be in one which turns into a yawn-fest. So how can you make things exciting and fun?

1. The Newly Wed Game

Aah! The classic newlywed game. You might have seen hilarious videos of this one for sure. It’s a good way to start the party. Make a list of questions like who paid on the first date? Who made the first move? or who farted first? You can make a video of the groom and play it back to see if it matches with the bride-to-be’s answer. Your nosy guests would love this one. Remember to keep it fun. You can put a spin on it by asking her to take a shot every time she gets something wrong by asking some interesting less obvious questions. If the bride doesn’t drink, you can make her chew gumballs or put marshmallows in her mouth every time she gets something wrong.

2. Find The Guest

You are going to have some guests who are meeting each other for the very first time. This game serves as the perfect icebreaker for the ladies. Any game that is interactive is fun. You can make a checklist like who doesn’t like pets, or who is the wild one and many more. Ask the ladies to guess who matches the checklist. It will get them talking for sure and will be fun to watch.

3. The Ring Game

Get a bunch of plastic rings for every guest. Give it to them at the start of the shower. Whenever you hear someone say “wedding”, you are allowed to steal their ring. Whoever has the most rings at the end of it wins. And guess what, they get a prize too.

4. Date Night Ideas

Get ready with a pile of pretty cards and some glitter pens. Ask everyone to write their favorite date night ideas. You can either read them aloud or deposit it in a box that the bride can read later. It can come in handy for the many weekend date nights that are awaiting the couple. You can also suggest ideas on how to spice things up in the bedroom or share some hilarious stories about your date night.

5. Cold Feet

No, we are not talking about a game that will change the bride-to-be’s mind. We wouldn’t want to do that to the bride. This game will literally get you cold feet. You can place a bunch of toy rings in a bucket of ice cold water. It doesn’t have to be toy rings, you can use anything of that sort to keep it fun. You can set a deadline of 1 minute or 2 minutes. Guests can plunge their feet into the icy water including the bride-to-be. Whoever pulls the most rings out within the set timeline will win a prize.

6. Chinese Whispers

Who doesn’t love this game? You can add an exciting twist to it by asking everyone to whisper a short wedding toast. You can whisper a well wish to the bride-to-be, and sit back and crack up when you hear the last person say it out loud.

Games are the essence of parties like bridal showers to keep things fun. And it shouldn’t be like watching grass grow. We hope we made your job easier with these bridal games ideas. All you have to do now is send an invitation to all your guests to join in on the fun. Remember how Monica screwed up Rachel’s baby shower by forgetting to call her mom? Make sure you invite everyone who the bride-to-be would want to be there with her.
