by Shivani K

When motherhood comes knocking for the first time, it can even make the most professionally successful women steer away from their jobs and focus just on their little one. We cannot blame them; no mother would prefer going to work leaving their little bundle of joy at home. The same applies to celebrity mom as well. Time and again we’ve seen the leading actresses of the tinsel town make a happy exit from the silver screens, and chose to stay with their babies and look after them. Be it Sridevi Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Madhuri Dixit Nene, the list can go on and on. Here’s a list of celeb moms who chose to leave their Bollywood journey when it was at its peak and opted for looking after their babies. Let’s have a look.

However, when she conceived for the first time, her first daughter Janhvi was born. She took a hiatus and chose to give up her amazing career to take care of her two daughters (Khushi, the second one). Finally, after six years she made a comeback with a television show “Malini Iyer” and then got back to the big screen with English Vinglish in the year 2012. Her talent was such that even after a break which lasted for more than a decade, she was still loved by the audience.

She gave birth to Nysa and Yug, and gave her all in being a good mother to them. However, in 2006 she made a comeback with the film Fanaa which was a blockbuster hit. And since then, she has been extremely choosy with her choices and makes sure she is never letting the mother in her take a back seat.

Who doesn’t remember this innocent beauty from the movie Maine Pyar Kiya? She went on to become an overnight Bollywood star with this movie. As much as her fan base grew with the release of this movie, sadly, we couldn’t get to see her on the silver screen again. After she married her childhood sweetheart, Himalaya, Bhagyashree took the sabbatical road from movies. Now a mother of two grown-up children, when she was asked if she misses Bollywood, she answers that she loved adorning the thankless job of being a mother and devoting her life for the upbringing of her two children who’ve now grown into beautiful souls. She also put light on how a woman can be ten different things and not just a mother or a movie star. She says that currently, she’s into nutrition, fitness, traveling, and many such things. And we cannot help but fall for her beautiful smile even to this day hoping secretly that she will return to the big screen someday soon.

8. Karisma Kapoor

Karisma aka Lolo married Sanjay Kapur, a Delhi-based businessman in 2003. She was at the peak of her career during this time. However, she slowed down after the marriage and completely stayed away from work after her children came into the world. She got legally separated from Sanjay in 2016 and is now back in the picture. Although she hasn’t acted in any new movies, she makes sure to make the fans feel her presence and elegance on social media.

Isn’t it amazing how mothers whether or not they belong to the celeb tag do for their children? When a child enters their world, their dreams fade away to become family’s dreams.
