The 13th season of one of the most loved reality shows in India, Big Boss, premiered on September 29th of 2019 on Colors television channel. What makes this reality show even more popular is that it is being hosted by Bollywood’s most loved superstar Salman Khan. Salman has been hosting this show for the tenth consecutive year now. The launch of the 13th season was called the First Day, First Show. This 13th season of Big Boss has so far recorded the highest TRP (Television Rating Point) of all the seasons that have been aired till date. Because of this, the 13th season of Big Boss has been given an extension of five weeks. And it’s also creating history by having 12 wildcard entries which are only going to make this Big Boss season a whole lot spicier and saucier *winks*.

What Is Big Boss? (For those who don’t know)

Big Boss is an Indian reality show which is an adapted version of a show called Big Brother which was created in the Netherlands. In India, Big Boss debuted in the year 2006. The concept of the show is such that a number of contestants (celebs mostly and some commoners as well) enter a secluded house called the Big Boss house which is under CCTV surveillance 24×7. Every week new tasks are given to the contestants of the house. The Big Boss house also has its own set of rules that need to be followed by every contestant. The show’s period is for about three to four months until the finale day. The person who survives till the end and wins the show takes home a huge sum of cash prize along with other goodies from the sponsors of the show.

The acceptance and love that the Indian audience gave Big Boss made it a very successful reality show and hence it was later made in various other regional languages like Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, and Malayalam. However, keeping the religious sentiments of the contestants in mind, the Big Boss house provides the contestants with the books when they are in the mood to read them.

Twelve seasons have passed and currently the thirteenth one is being aired. And till date, there’s only one contestant in Big Boss who has never been nominated by the fellow contestants aka Big Boss housemates for elimination. And this person is none other than the famous and controversial Indian cricketer of all times— Navjot Singh Sidhu.
