For many of us out there, school was a difficult time. We went through some of our first experiences in school, from learning multiplication to performing chemical experiments, we’ve done it all. While some of us may have excelled and performed extremely well, not everyone could manage to always stay in the teacher’s graces. Recently, Telugu actress Samantha Akkineni decided to share some pictures of her report card on her Instagram stories. This stirred up many to check out Deepika’s report cards as well. Here’s what your two favorite actresses were up to in school:
“Deepika Must Learn To Follow Instructions”
The Om Shanti Om actress shared pictures of what we assume is a primary school report card. In the images, you can see the principal leaving remarks like “Deepika tends to daydream” and “Deepika is very talkative”. Clearly, both those traits worked out for the actress as she’s now renowned across the globe. Only now they say that she “dreams big” and “speaks up for what’s right” instead of calling her a talkative daydreamer. It’s lovely that the actress can make fun of herself and look back at these memories fondly. FYI, the actress may have been a troublemaker but she certainly excelled in the sports department (just like her father).
However, despite it all, Deepika’s husband, Ranveer took to the comment section to joke about how she still has her head stuck in the clouds and how she’s always been a troublemaker! All the reasons why we love our DeePee. The actress has been spending lockdown in her Mumbai flat with her beloved hubby, Ranveer Singh.
On Sunday, the actress shared a throwback post of her first screen test with ex-bf Ranbir Kapoor for their 2013 blockbuster film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The stunning actress captioned the picture with a quote from her character in the film, “Yaadein mithai ke dibbe ki tarah hoti hain…Ek baar khula, toh sirf ek tukda nahi kha paoge’- Naina Talwar” (talk about queen energy). Ranveer also expressed his affection for the pair by captioning the picture as “Cuuuute”. Fans also reacted to the picture and called them the best on-screen Jodi and many praised them for setting aside their differences and coming together as friends. Deepika and Ranveer are often spotted hanging out with Ranbir Kapoor and his new girlfriend, Alia Bhatt.
“Samantha Is An Asset To The School”
While some celebrities like Deepika were known for being troublemakers, others like Samantha proved to be quite the goodie-two-shoes. The Super Deluxe actress shared snaps of her 10th-grade report card onto her Instagram story and added “Look what I found again!” Although Samantha may have been a good student, the fact that she ended up being such a popular actress proves that it’s important to follow our heart regardless of what grades we achieve in academics.
The actress had recently attended a small ceremony to commemorate Rana Daggubati’s engagement with Miheeka Bajaj. She shared a picture of the event with her followers and wished the lovely pair a happily ever after. She also added that the news of their upcoming wedding was the best news she heard in 2020 (we can relate).
Samantha has been riding on cloud nine as her Instagram followers hit the big 10 million mark. The Oh Baby actress shared a cute still from the film of her with her arms in the air. To commemorate the occasion, Samantha did the beautiful act of donating money to ten different NGOs. This comes after Hollywood actress Natalie Portman did the same and Samantha was kind enough to give credit where credit was due.
Why This Matters?
You might be wondering, why do two celebrities sharing their report cards matter so much. Well, for one, it sparks up a conversation that needs to be addressed. The Indian school system has various loopholes and many of us can relate to getting remarks in our calendar, getting pulled up for talking or chewing gum, and so many others. When a celebrity speaks out about issues like this, it churns the wheels of society and helps humanize them.
To see that some of our favorite celebrities were troublemakers just like us, helps us understand that grades really do not matter when it comes to the more important things in life. Your good grades might get you that fancy 9-5 job you have your eyes on, but it will not keep you there. Judging people’s intelligence and ability to work hard just based on their grades is a very outdated concept in general. As people of a brighter future and hopefully a more advanced country, it is up to us to throw away the old and encourage the children of tomorrow (and today) to focus on things other than their grades as well.
