Do you feel uncomfortable to wear a bikini or short dresses that may reveal a large part of your stomach, butts, thighs, and arms, whether on beaches or for that very special occasion? Your cellulite deposits would have made your skin flabby, spongy, and loose, and wishing for a magic eraser that would erase all those dimples on your skin is quite natural. Here is one.

What Is Cellulite

The fat deposit under your dermis (upper layer of skin) that is held intact by various connective tissue fibers is called cellulite. These fat cells push down the fibers and get so swollen with water and fat that they reduce the blood circulation in the area. Cellulite is responsible for the texture of soft-cushioned skin that you so loathe.

The Magic DIY Sugar Scrub

Try this magic DIY sugar scrub that is less expensive, has ingredients that are easily available, and is something you can always make at home without worrying about any harsh effects of chemicals.

You Will Need

  • 1 cup granulated coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons Vitamin E (capsules)
  • 3-6 tablespoons coconut/olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons glycerine
  • Dry brush

How To Make The Scrub

Mix the coffee powder and sugar well by shaking them in an airtight container. The caffeine in the coffee is great for its diuretic properties and alkaloids that act against the fat tissue under your skin (cellulite). There is no better exfoliant than sugar to clean the pores of the skin for a better absorption of the scrub.

Mix the entire mixture with vitamin E, olive/coconut oil, and glycerine so that a rough paste is formed. These ingredients help to restore the moisture of the skin and neutralize the effects of dehydration of the caffeine.

  • Before getting in the shower, use a dry brush all over your body. It not only exfoliates the dead skin cells but also helps in blood circulation and skin firming. Moreover, it also gives a massage effect. Your skin is definitely worth it.
  • Take a warm shower before lavishly applying this scrub to all over your cushioned skin.
  • Massage the area in a circular motion for five minutes. Apply slight pressure with your fingertips while massaging the area.
  • Then, wrap the area with a soft towel for 10 minutes. This facilitates its absorption deep into the skin.
  • Rinse off well and do not use soap. Don’t worry if your skin has turned red and soft.
  • Apply moisturizer after your bath. You are sure to feel awesome!

You can use this on alternate days. This scrub can either be stored in the fridge (if you choose to mix everything) or can be mixed right at the time of use.

Tips

a. You may add your choice of essential oils to this sugar scrub for the choicest fragrance.
b. You may also include dry bladderwrack (brown seaweed) powder in this scrub as it is great for firming skin.

So try this out today for faster skin firming. But remember, this scrub will not act as a magic cure unless you are systematic and meticulous in observing the right diet and workout. The artificial anti-cellulite creams contain a good deal of aminophylline (a drug used to treat asthmatic patients) to increase your metabolic rate and get rid of cellulite faster. Hence, a long-term use of the same might have adverse effects instead of the positive ones you are seeking. So, is is better to opt for this DIY skin firming sugar scrub.
