Did you know that the peels of most fruits contain as many nutrients as the fruit itself? One such fruit whose peel is as important as the fruit itself is the banana.
It is an awesome fruit, and its benefits are numerous. Normally, we peel the fruit, eat the flesh inside it, and throw the pith in the bin. But the next time you eat a banana, think twice before you throw the peel. Wondering why?
Read on to know why and how you can make the most out of this part of the fruit.
1. Grill A Softer Piece Of Chicken.
You might be an expert in grilling, but all the pro hacks fail when you get a piece of skinless and soft chicken breast that is too soft to get grilled and dries out faster. The next time you face this situation, use a banana peel and place it on top of each breast while grilling. It will act as a barrier (just like the human skin does) and will help retain its juices.
2. Prevent Your Scratched DVD From Skipping.
If your favorite disc is not playing smoothly because of the scratches over them, fix the problem using a banana peel. All you need to do is rub the scratches gently with the inside of a banana peel and then wipe it off with a soft cloth. The wax present in the banana peel will fill in the gaps and scratches, and the disc will play smoothly.
3. Remove That Irritating Splinter Without Any Pain.
Here is a simple trick to remove splinters – take a small piece of banana peel and keep it on your wound for around half an hour, with the white side downwards. The enzymes present in the banana peel will seep into the skin and will encourage the splinter to come up, making it easy to pull it out. Now this is called a pain-free and tear-free extraction!
4. Remove Ink Stains From Your Skin.
If a pen accidentally explodes, leaving ink stains all over your hands, instead of rubbing your hands continuously with soap and water, try this simple trick. Rub the banana peels over the stains for some time, and watch the ink marks disappear. The natural oils present in banana peels will help remove the ink easily.
5. Whiten Your Teeth.
You need not spend a fortune on whitening your teeth as we have a simple and cheap solution for you – rub the inside of the peel of a fresh banana on your pearlies for two minutes every day. This will help act as an astringent and bleach and effectively lighten your teeth.
6. Soothe Itchy Bug Bites.
Mosquitoes and other bugs are quite common during summer, and the itching doesn’t go away easily. Here is a chemical-free solution – rub the inside of the banana peel on the affected area and get rid of itchiness and inflammation within seconds.
7. Cure Pimples And Breakouts.
Massaging banana peels on your face and neck for five minutes daily helps in curing pimples. It also acts an anti-aging agent and reduces the occurrence of wrinkles.
Aren’t these clever uses of banana peels amazing? Try them whenever required and I bet, you won’t be disappointed ever.
