Most people know her as the face of Balaji Telefilms but did you also know that she runs the show? The talented lady is not just a producer but also a director, joint managing director, creative head of Balaji films and a Padma Shri awardee. 1. Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant debuted in the Indian television industry in 2008. The actor landed a supporting role in an Ekta Kapoor produced serial (Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil) and charmed the world with his adorable chocolate boy looks and intense gaze. Despite his character dying early in the show, he was brought back as a ghost for the finale episode due to popular demand. He soon became Ekta Kapoor’s poster boy and starred in her serial, Pavitra Rishta. This was his breakthrough role and he received three major awards for best and most popular actor. Sushant used this as a stepping stone to his film career. The insanely talented actor made his Bollywood debut with the film Kai Po Che and was even nominated for a Filmfare award for Best Male Debut. Since then, his career trajectory has only moved upwards.

2. Karan Singh Grover

Karan began his career in 2004 with the Ekta Kapoor produced Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi. After his appearance on the show, he was noticed for his rugged good looks and acting chops. He went on to star in a serial called Dill Mill Gayye and became an instant hit and major teenage icon. After being a part of the small screen for a long time, the actor decided to make his move to the big screen with two back to back movies, Alone and Hate Story 3. The actor was praised for his performance in the latter and has two movies lined up shortly.

3. Ronit Roy

Ronit Roy received mainstream success after he took on the role of Rishabh Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The character was a suave and ruthless business tycoon. His impressive performance in the role landed him another spot on Ekta Kapoor show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Mihir Varani. Although the actor had made a bid to make an entry into Bollywood before his appearances on Ekta Kapoor’s shows, he only started getting offered major roles after his success on the small screen. In 2010, Ronit starred in a critically-acclaimed film called Udaan and since then he’s starred in films under big names like Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, and Sanjay Gupta.

4. Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai stole the show when she signed on to Ekta Kapoor’s Kasamh Se. The actress played the lead character, Bani and channeled her inner dilemma to a tee. With her innocent looks and sharp sense of what’s right and what’s wrong, she soon became a fan favorite. The actress was cast aside the much older, Ram Kapoor, and the chemistry they shared on-screen was palpable to all their fans. The actress also made a cameo appearance on another Ekta Kapoor serial, Kasautii Zindagii Kay. After gaining success in the small screen world, Prachi signed up to act in the 2008 film, Rock On!! She also played a supporting role in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai opposite Emraan Hashmi. Who can forget the song Pee loon?

5. Ankita Lokhande

The stunning actress made waves when she started working in Ekta Kapoor’s romantic drama series, Pavitra Rishta. The actress played a dual role on the show until it reached its conclusion in 2014. The show sent Ankita on a meteoric rise to fame and made her an Indian household name. After acting in a bunch of TV serials, the actress made her Bollywood debut in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

6. Surveen Chawla

Surveen made her small screen debut with the show, Kahin To Hoga. In 2004, she appeared in the show Kasauti Zindagi Kay and that pushed her to get more offers on the mini screen. After her stint in the television industry, she debuted on the big screen in a Kannada film, Paramesha Panwala. The actress made her first Bollywood appearance by playing a secondary character in Hum Tum Shabana in 2011. Following this, she starred in different films across various industries in India.

7. Pulkit Samrat

Pulkit made his first TV screen appearance in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in 2006. Although he quit the show just one year later, he got his kick start into Bollywood with the 2013 romantic comedy, Bittoo Boss. The actor also notably starred in the teenage comedy Fukkrey. He has acted in many films since his debut and has bid his TV career a fond farewell.
