5 Exercises To Look Good In Your Wedding Lehenga

When you think of your wedding, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? That’s right, your beautiful ensemble. As soon as the wedding date is fixed, the to-be-bride starts working on her body to look fabulous on her big day. It’s the one day of her life when she is going to be the center of attention and she will want to look her best. Many brides choose a lehenga as their wedding outfit and today we are here to tell you the exercises that will help you look and feel fantastic on your day.

1. For The Open Back Lehenga

Thinking about wearing a sultry backless lehenga blouse but conscious about all your back fat? Well, fret not. We’ve got just the right solution for you! Here are three exercises that help you attain the desired C-curve for your back and get the temperatures rising.

1) Superman

Perfect for shedding those love handles, the superman targets the sides of your back and areas of your upper back.

How To Do

  1. Lie on your stomach and stretch your hands forward on either side of your head.
  2. Drawing strength from your core, lift your hands and legs off the ground and keep your hips fixed to the ground.
  3. Hold this position for 20-30 seconds and release.
  4. Repeat thrice with 10 seconds to rest in between.

2) Cobra Pose

All you yoga buffs will know how effective this is for your back as well as your abs. The Cobra Pose is known to increase the flexibility of your spine and strengthen your shoulders.

How To Do

  1. Lie on your stomach and place your hands by your shoulders.
  2. Tilt your head towards the ceiling and hold for 40 seconds.
  3. Slowly lower your body to the ground and rest for 5 seconds.
  4. Repeat thrice.

1) Plank Taps

Plank taps are just a variation of basic planks that we all love.

How To Do

  1. Get into a high plank position with your palms in line with your shoulders.
  2. Touch your left shoulder with your right hand and return to the plank position.
  3. Alternately, do this with your left hand.
  4. Do this for 15 counts on either side before you rest.
  5. Repeat thrice with a 10-second break between sets.

2) Arm Circles

It helps build muscle tone in your shoulders, biceps, and triceps.

How To Do

  1. Stand up straight with your back, shoulders, and toes in line.
  2. Stretch your arms to the sides at a 180-degree angle to your shoulders.
  3. Clench your fists and rotate in big circles clockwise for 30 counts.
  4. Repeat the motion anticlockwise for 30 counts.
  5. Follow the same steps and rotate your arms clockwise in small circles for 30 counts.
  6. Repeat in anticlockwise for 30 counts.

3. For The Abs-olute Lehenga

This one is for the adamant belly fat that we have been fighting since ancient history. Let’s look at some effective ways to get rid of those muffin tops.

1) Flutter Kicks

Reverse flutter kicks for the back and flutter kicks for the belly, it targets your lower belly and shaves off that muffin top.

How To Do

  1. Lie flat on your back and place your hands on your side.
  2. Lift your legs in an alternate scissor-like motion at a 30-degree angle.
  3. Do this for 60 seconds and repeat thrice.

2) Knee To Elbow Crunches

Crunches are known as the best exercise for abs. A variation of classic crunches, this one targets the entire abdominal region.

How To Do

  1.  Lie flat on your back and place your hands behind your ear.
  2. Lift your leg up and bend so that your knee is at a 90-degree angle to your body.
  3. Lift right elbow and touch your left knee and then do this for the other side.
  4. Do this alternately for 15 counts.
  5. Repeat three sets.

4. For The Hour Glass Skirt Lehenga

We cannot deny that a toned butt and thighs make any outfit look hot. So let’s look at ways to make your lower body as hot as the sun.

1) Butt Bridges

Strengths your glutes and hamstrings and can even help tone your ab muscles.

How To Do

  1. Lie face-up on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground.
  2. Place your arms at the side of your hips with palms facing down.
  3. Lift your hips off the ground to make your shoulders, hips, and knees form a straight line.
  4. Hold this position for 5-7 seconds before lowering your hips.
  5. Do three sets of 30 counts.

2) Bodyweight Squats

This is the most effective way to engage your butt, inner thighs and leg muscles. Squats are known to benefit the whole body. Bodyweight squats are the classic form of squats without any variation.

How To Do

  1. Stand with your legs slightly wider than how you’d normally stand.
  2. Keep your chest lifted and your core tight while stretching your arms forward in a 90-degree angle from your body.
  3. Bend your knee and go as low as possible making sure your knees and toes are in line.
  4. Do three sets of 25 times each.

5. For The Chiseled Face

1) Neck Rotation

It helps with increasing neck mobility and reduces the tightness in the sides and back of your neck.

How To Do

  1. Stand up with your back straight and core inward.
  2. Put your hands on either side of your body in line with your navel.
  3. Keeping your core engaged, rotate your head 360 degrees in a clockwise direction.
  4. Do this for 50 counts.
  5. Take a 10-second break and repeat in the anticlockwise direction for another 50 counts.
  6.  Do this every day to see results.

2) Head Tilts

Another one to improve neck mobility and shave off that double chin, head tilts are a great form of facial exercise.

How To Do

  1. Stand straight with your back and core in the correct posture.
  2. Slowly tilt your head back and face the ceiling.
  3. Hold this position for 5-7 seconds and lower your neck to face the ground slowly.
  4. Repeat this 10 times with a 30-second interval.
