There’s no denying that the film industry has been our ultimate destination for finding fashion inspiration. From casual to party and from sports to weddings, millions of people want to dress up as their favorite on-screen personality on every occasion. I’m also a movie buff and have been observing various fashion statement trends across the country because of their Bollywood origin. That’s why I decided to try some of my most favorite star styles to assess if they’re worth all the hype.

Here are seven film star-inspired styles you should definitely check out:

1. If You’re As Carefree As Geet From Jab We Met, Try Her Carefree Style

I’m assuming there’s no girl in India who did not buy harem pants inspired by Kareena’s Jab We Met look. I too paired my harems with a t-shirt and a stole and instantly felt the comfort level go up. Walking out in this dress was as cool as wearing my pair of pajamas with tees. Just like their alter-ego palazzos and tees, Harems and tees are also a perfect set to sit in your wardrobe for days you need to dress in something comfy and stylish. If you don’t wear harems yet, I suggest trying them once.

2. Looking For Glamor Inspo? Who Else Can Be More Glamorous Than Poo From K3G

There are occasions when we just want that confidence to say, “Kaun hai woh jisne dobara mud ke mujhe nahi dekha?”. On all those days, we might want to take some glamor inspiration from our very own Poo from K3G. So, taking notes from Kareena’s character, I decided to dress up in mini skirts and crop tops. When I sent my pictures to my girl gang, they were amazed to see my transformation and said that I rocked the look. I guess this is a style no girl should miss out on if they aim to become glamor queens, or just want to steal the limelight occasionally.

3. Want To Drape A Saree In Style? Take Notes From Sushmita Sen’s Main Hoon Na Look

It’s a great idea to don a saree when you’re expected in traditionals. You can take some inspiration from Sushmita Sen’s hot lecturer look from Main Hoon Na that created headlines. I draped my mom’s plain red saree with a sleeveless silver blouse to create the look. And when I went out like this at a housewarming ceremony, a lot of compliments flowed in. I’m sure that if you style your plain sarees the way Sush did in this movie, you’re going to steal so many hearts.

4. Wear This If Your Personality Is As Tomboyish As Anjali From Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

If you’re inherently cute and a little tomboyish like Kajol’s character Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, this look is something that comes easy. I also tried this look a while back by wearing a white and red jumpsuit. NGL, I was looking quite cute. Even my friends had good things to say about my new look. Of course, going out in the dress made me realize that the look was more fabulous than I had expected. I feel this look is perfect for casual outings and brunches.

5. If You Emanate Bohemian Vibes, Adopt Anushka Sharma’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Look

Women who love channelizing their inner boho instincts through boho dresses and jewels should try Anushka’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil look. I decided to try this look by pairing my denims with a long kurta, statement earrings, and deep kajal on my waterline. This was my favorite casual look out of what I tried so far. If you want to take a shot at boho fashion, here’s where you can start. You can also try bohemian-print dresses to make Boho your regular style statement.

6. Student Of The Year’s Shanaya Is Your Perfect Prom Inspiration

Alia’s Student Of The Year prom looks were just bang-on. So I also decided to try this particular style for my future parties. I ordered a cute red dress online and paired it with a matching headband and cherry red lipstick. Although this was just a dress trial, I looked gorgeous. If you ever plan to doll up for parties, have this reference in mind. I assure you, you’re going to look the prettiest among all.
