We’ve seen all kinds of hair color trends of late. The bronde that is a perfect blend of blonde and brunette. The ombre, which beautifully transitions from dark to light. The grungy lived-in hair color, which is a sort of faded color. Rihanna’s style statement, the burnt auburn. The dip dyes in vibrant colors highlighting your mane. This trend is sure to get your mouth watering because you would have never thought of a hair color inspired by food! It is soft, gooey, and very scrumptious. Well, before your imagination runs wild, I am talking about Chocolate Chip Cookies. Yes, you heard that right, for it is the delicious, chocolate chip cookies that inspire this latest hair color trend.

All credit goes to the trend-setting hairstylist Ryan, from the Pearl Of Cutler, NYC, for coming up with this new and trending hair color technique. It is really just a combination of lowlights and highlights. The look has both brunette and blonde tones, and the way they come together is sure to remind you of those delectable cookies. The color sort of melts together, just like a gooey hot chocolate chip cookie.

Ryan says that he likes to give his clients a sort of a picture to explain what he is doing, and he usually associates his work with food. He believes that such associations make it so much easier to understand the technique. He says that it makes it so much more fun and interesting when you relate to something, and it is way better than referring to color simply as warm or cool.

The chocolate chip cookie hair color looks great on women who have a comparatively darker base color, ranging from black, brown, and even dark blonde.

The way Ryan goes about coloring the hair is by taking ribbon-like strands of the hair, and hand dyeing it in a lighter shade. These ribbons are supposed to cascade all around the face, and each strand is dyed in different heights as it moves towards the back of the head. The coloring doesn’t start right at the roots, to keep the look more natural. The look is finished off with a glaze and a deep base in an effort to keep the look natural. This hair color technique is extremely low maintenance as it tends to look amazing even as it grows out.

I am sure you are now eager to grab a chocolate chip cookie, but the question is, are you inspired enough to get that chocolate chip hair color?
