7 Hairstyle Blunders Of Bollywood (Don’t Follow These Else Your GF Will Reject You!)

This article is a slight change of pace for me as a writer. Usually, I stick to writing on topics that I, as a woman, identify with or have a working knowledge of, and know that my readers will read and probably gain insight or if not that, probably laugh a little. However, this time I have chosen to venture into the unfamiliar waters of grooming rituals of men.

I have been told that men take their grooming as seriously as we women do, and in fact, sometimes they are even more serious than us. The hair on their face and their head are pretty important to them, which is not surprising since they don’t really get to experiment with their look in terms of clothes or otherwise (and to your point, there can only be one Ranveer Singh). But sometimes experimenting with your look can backfire pretty spectacularly, ask any girl who tried to get Zoey Deschanel-esque bangs, (yours truly, included).

While looking for the various in-vogue hairstyle over the Internet, I came across truly horrific hairstyles which had me convinced about the need to write this article. So here I am guys. I have compiled a list of not-so-successful hairstyles that you might want to avoid if you don’t want your girlfriend/wife/FWB to flee for the hills.
And here they are-

1. Salman Khan’s Tere Naam-Style

Yes, this had to make it to the top of the list. What can we expect from a movie that essentially gives the message that stalking and physical abuse can get you the girl? Apparently, that’s how Bhai rolls.

If you are looking to woo your lady love, then it’s better to avoid both the tactic employed by Bhai and his haircut. Trust us, we are stopping you from making horrible life decisions.

2. Saif’s Go Goa Gone Blonde Look

You would think that the Nawab of Pataudi would be the icon of grace and elegance, but Saif Ali Khan’s hairstyle in this movie says otherwise. He played a Russian mafioso in the movie who also dabbled in zombie hunting on the side. Don’t know about the zombies, but his blonde hair sure scared the living daylights out of me.

Guys, warm Indian skin tones and blonde hair are not a good mix. Avoid this hairdo as if it was a plague.

3. Sanjay Dutt’s Kancha Cheena Look

You can judge an actor’s success by the reactions he elicits from his audience. In this regard, Sanjay Dutt completely nailed his villainous role as Kancha Cheena in the remake of the hugely successful Agneepath.

However, unlike his Hollywood counterparts such as Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson, Dutt’s bald look in the movie didn’t have any oomph factor. In fact, it only managed to make him look eerily creepy. So, that’s another lesson guys, not everyone can pull off the bald look.

4. SRK’s Dreadlocks In Don 2

A rare addition to this list, nonetheless SRK, who generally manages to get it right, failed to impress when it came to his look in Don 2. In fact, the orange jumpsuit combined with his dreadlocks gave him a hobo-like vibe. If you’re looking to impress the love of your life by copying the King of romance’s style, we suggest you look elsewhere for your hairdo inspiration.

5. The Swag Of Crime Master Gogo

Laugh all you want but I had to include this hairdo in the list. Shakti Kapoor’s portrayal of Crime Master Gogo, in Andaz Apna Apna, is as memorable for his comedic timing as it is for his peculiar look. The oily, slicked-back hair is an affront to the senses and a hairstyle that you should never go for if you have any feelings for your significant other!

6. Rajpal Yadav’s Look In Bhool Bhulaiya

Some things are best left in the sphere of fiction. While our Bollywood movies have inspired many a trend, there are some things that are far too bizarre to be incorporated in real life. Case in point, Rajpal Yadav’s wacky hairdo in Bhool Bhulaiyya. You can go for this look, only if you’re competing in a fancy-dress competition or you’re having a Halloween party. Otherwise, nope.

7. Akshay Kumar’s 70s Look in Action Replayy

This movie, which was based on the theme of time travel, captured the essence of the 70s perfectly. With the bell-bottoms and the poufy hair, to the tight churidar-salwars, all the elements were in place. The only drawback, Akshay Kumar’s hair. While the movie was authentic in its portrayal of the 70s and remained true to the fashion of that time, Akshay’s hair just didn’t do anything for us. That hair belonged to the 70s and there is no reason why you should try it now.

So here you go guys, these are my two cents on the Bollywood hairstyle disasters that you should steer clear of. As far as impressing your better half goes, don’t ape anything or anyone blindly. Stick to the basics and go for something that works for you and you will do great.
