One problem with browsing through Netflix shows is that you end up spending hours just going through the catalog. Finding the right Netflix show to binge watch can be quite the task these days. However, when you look online you can find plenty of lists that will suggest good shows for you to watch. You’d want to spend your time watching a show that keeps you on your toes and ensures that you’re fully entertained. So we’re here to make the task a little easier for you so you can spend more time binging and less time browsing. Here is a list of nine popular and highly rated Netflix shows that have to be on your radar for your long weekends:

1. When They See Us – 96%

This is a crime drama that is based on the real life story of four young black men who have been falsely accused of rape and assault in New York city. Despite lack of evidence, these young men are put on trial simply because of the color of their skin. The entire storyline takes place in 1989 and the show has garnered rave reviews for its compelling and emotional performances.

2. The Crown – 91%

The gripping storyline that is more fictional than it is fact based follows the story of HRH Elizabeth Windsor and her extended family. The show features many iconic British characters like Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher and the British Royal family. It includes the assassination of Lord Mountbatten and many other defining moments in British history.

3. Glow – 92%

Glow features the ever popular exuberant and bubbly Alisson Brie of the show Community as an actress who finds herself out-of-work and is trying to find another shot at fame. She manages to find her chance through women’s wrestling. The show is set in the 1980s and features all the costumes and music from that era.

Lupin is a French crime series that tells the gripping tale of the infamous French criminal mastermind and thief, Arsène Lupin. It stars actor Omar Sy in the lead role and is truly a nail-biting show to binge watch. There is a super famous manga written about it as well as a cartoon film.

5. Dead To Me – 89%

Dead To Me features the ever-popular Christina Applegate in the leading role as well as Linda Cardellini of Scooby Doo fame. Christina plays a widow by the name of Jen Harding whose husband dies after he is killed by a hit-and-run driver. Linda plays Judy Hale, a woman who Jen meets at a support group and who quickly becomes her best friend. Unbeknownst to Jen, Judy is actually the person who killed her husband.

6. Unorthodox – 96%

Unorthodox is an American-German drama that is primarily shot in Yiddish and it is a miniseries based on an autobiography written by Deborah Feldman called Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots. It follows the tale of a young woman who flees her ultra-orthodox and super strict community after she is forced into an arranged marriage.

7. The Last Kingdom – 91%

The Last Kingdom is a British historical fictional series that is based on a series of novels written by Bernard Cornwell. It follows The Saxon Stories novels and features Vikings and their gripping tales of bravado and gritty battles. Do we even need to say more?

8. On My Block – 95%

On My Block is a coming-of-age teenage drama that follows the journey of four uniquely different but extremely tight-knit friends as they navigate the turbulence of high school. It also follows the various racial tensions and stereotypes faced by those belonging to the his panic and black communities while they live their lives in starry-eyed LA.

9. Sacred Games- 92%

Sacred Games is an Indian thriller that is based on a novel of the same name written by Vikram Chandra. It is India’s first Netflix original series and was directed and produced by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. It follows the tale of a mentally disturbed police officer who receives a random call from a gangster who tells him he only has 25 days to save his city.
