If youhave a persistent cough and taking cough syrups and other tablets are yielding absolutely no results, we have some good news for you.

In this article, we will tell you how to make homemade lozenges that can help you get rid of that cough instantly. Here’s the recipe.

Things Required

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of manuka honey (or any honey would do)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of crushed cloves (preferably dried ones)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder

How To Prepare It

  1. Add all the ingredients in a bowl and put it on heat.
  2. Once the mixture starts boiling, turn down the flame and let it simmer for around 15-20 minutes.
  3. Keep stirring it at frequent intervals or it might stick to the pan.
  4. Once it forms a thick paste, remove it from the flame and let it cool for some time.
  5. Now, take a pan and cover it with a baking sheet.
  6. Using a spoon, pour this mixture over the sheet in medium-sized drops. Make sure you maintain some distance between the drops as they might stick to one another.
  7. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the sheet. Make sure you cover the drops with powdered sugar evenly. Once it cools, separate the balls.

You can either eat these lozenges directly, or dissolve one in half a cup of warm water and drink it. If you are avoiding sugar, you can skip adding it.
